As viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful, it's easy to become invested in the characters' lives and the directions their actions and choices take them. Deacon and Taylor narrowly avoided disaster when Sheila broke into her bedroom with a knife. However, what if things had taken a far deadlier turn? When Deacon and Taylor first became romantically involved, Steffy expressed concern about how Sheila might react. Sheila has slowly put the pieces together about her husband and Taylor, but she almost got an eyeful. Now, we ask ourselves, "What if" the storyline heads in a vastly different direction?
Soap Central embraces the fantasy fun of "What if" and ponders the possibility of how Sheila would've reacted if she caught Deacon in Taylor's bed.
Close call on The Bold and the Beautiful

Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Taylor (Rebecca Budig) are playing with fire by refusing to stay away from each other. It appears as if no amount of ultimatums from Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is enough of an incentive to sever ties and protect the family from the threat of Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). Steffy and Finn (Tanner Novlan) went away for a singular night, and they jumped on the chance to sneak around in the shadows. However, the one thing they didn't bargain on was Sheila showing up at the cliff house and kicking in Taylor's bedroom, while wielding a giant kitchen knife.
Luckily, for everyone involved, Deacon had the quick reflexes to escape from the house and hide in the bushes. He narrowly avoided disaster, and he raced back home as quickly as possible. Once Taylor convinced Sheila to drop the knife and that there was no attacker or present danger, Sheila jumped to her own conclusions. She assumed that Taylor was engaging in a rare evening of self-pleasure, and she felt bad for assuming the worst. For the time being, Deacon and Taylor avoided being discovered, and Sheila remained in the dark. Although she's starting to realize what was going on, the lovers managed to avoid being sliced and diced during their first night together.
Sheila strikes back

What if Deacon and Taylor didn't get as lucky? What if things had gone far differently on the night that Sheila entered Steffy's house and believed Taylor was under attack? Sheila was quick to grab a knife and plunge it directly into whomever she believed was responsible for assaulting Taylor. Had Deacon not heard her entering and gone outside, he could've found himself with that very blade embedded in his spine. Sheila likely would've panicked and flown into a blind rage, leaving Taylor as the next bloody victim. It would've been somewhat of a repeat of when Sheila shot Finn and Steffy in the alley behind Il Giardino.
Sheila would've felt backed into a corner, and there's no telling what kind of crime spree she would've gone on following that. It's easy to imagine that she'd make the logical assumption that Deacon's children had knowledge of the affair. They shunned her at every opportunity, so it wouldn't be too difficult for Sheila to slash Hope (Annika Noelle) and Deke (Harrison Cone) with the same knife that killed their father. Deacon and Taylor's inability to be upfront with Sheila about their feelings could've led to a trail of bodies across Los Angeles. On some other timeline, Sheila killed both that night, and they should be grateful that it didn't happen in their present reality.
