Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right: The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops For the Week of September 28

If there is one thing you can count on with The Bold and the Beautiful, you can go from being on a character's side to wanting to throw things at them in an instant. There is rarely anyone on this show who doesn't do something terrible, feeling they are completely justified in their actions. Right now, we're looking at you, Katie and Carter. These two might want to rethink their choices pretty soon.

Is That What Happened, Katie?

We were beginning to suspect that Katie had some sort of mental break when she left Eric's living room after Eric and her sisters gave her that brutal verbal beatdown she didn't deserve. That was when we were completely on Team Katie. Brooke and Donna had no right to talk to her that way and Eric had no right to allow them to believe she begged him to work for her when it was the other way around all the way.

After Katie left the mansion in a heap of tears, we didn't see her for weeks. When she did pop up again, the only thing she cared about was tormenting Will's new girlfriend, who never gave her any reason to dislike her. Instead, it's been quite the opposite. Dylan has bent over backwards to be nice to Katie and do whatever she wanted. She wanted to meet Dylan's mom? Well, Dylan's mom got right on a plane to meet her. But that wasn't good enough.

It's not good enough because when Katie left Eric's house that night, she got right in the car and vowed to never shed another tear over Brooke. She explained this to Hope while shedding one single tear (over Brooke). And Brooke is Dylan in Katie's eyes because Dylan comes from nothing and is dating a rich boy. Didn't Katie come from nothing and also date a rich boy whom she married (twice) and who gifted her this fashion house?

About Dylan (and Electra)

That right there is why Katie has undergone a complete character transformation and is targeting one of the only characters on this show we like on a consistent basis, because it turns out she is not a bad person. She is smart, funny, kind, and...honest.

And the honest part is SO refreshing. Katie had her do an underhanded thing like push Zende to talk to Hope so she could poach him from Forrester. Dylan did what Katie asked, but she didn't lie about it. She told Zende exactly what she was doing and why, and she told Will the same. Dylan wasn't even trying to rat Katie out. She was just being honest because that is who she is.

And Electra? Well, we guess she's honest. Maybe even a little too honest. We get to hear every thought she has — whether angry, sad, or just plain mean, we get to hear it. But we didn't have to hear it this last week and wanna know why? Because Electra wasn't on. We were spared the incessant whining and complaining for an entire five days. We know it won't last, as no bliss does, but we were certainly happy for a little reprieve from Electra. Too bad we are not heading for a reprieve from Carter and Steffy.

The King of Desperation

Never have we seen a more desperate soap male than Carter Walton. The man has to own stock in knee pads, considering all the times he's proposed. Over the course of the last year, Carter has proposed twice and actually got one of those women to marry him. (If Hope had walked down the aisle with Carter, it would be "Daphne, who?") But Daphne is in premature menopause, so they need a baby quickly.

Well, it just so happens that Carter and Steffy had a little oopsie recently and she has a baby on hand with Carter's DNA. She's also had eggs conveniently frozen for years, so why not tell Daphne that he spent some time in the men's room at the doctor's office and now there's a baby inside Steffy they can have? How fortuitous.

Carter doesn't care how that baby got there. It's there and he wants it and plans to hand it to Daphne to fix the mess he and Steffy made during their drunken night of something on Eric's office couch. While we certainly give Carter points for ingenuity and creativity, this isn't how to fix things, Carter.

Steffy knows how to fix things. She wants to take a cue from Dylan's playbook and just be...honest. Except, there's one problem...

Cat Got Your Tongue, Steffy?

Did Steffy forget that she can speak when Daphne and Carter are in the room at the same time? She has no problem telling Carter over and over that they need to tell their spouses the truth, but she has had every opportunity to do just that and hasn't.

She has also told Carter that she absolutely does not want to be his "egg donor and surrogate," and she has no plans to give away her own child to cover up a one-night stand, but she can't just say it to Daphne. Twice, Carter has had the audacity to tell Daphne that Steffy will do things she has absolutely refused to do and twice, Steffy has just stood there and not corrected him.

Is the woman who tells everyone else what to do whether it is her business or not suddenly mute? Yes, Carter is being absolutely awful by essentially bullying Steffy, but Steffy is the original bully and can fight back. She just doesn't want to. And that's why we are having a hard time feeling bad for her when we should.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Carter, Katie — and even Steffy — are going to learn that the hard way.
