What If The Bold and the Beautiful, May 13: Steffy abandons Forrester for the enemy

The Bold and the Beautiful's Steffy has been completely blindsided by Ridge's bombshell that Brooke wants her to step aside, so she can become his co-CEO. There's a decent chance that Ridge is going to move forward with Steffy's demotion, despite her insistence that it's the wrong move. However, what if instead of Hope, it's Steffy who defects to the competition?

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was entirely caught off guard when Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) informed her that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was seeking the co-CEO position. Steffy believed that she was doing an incredible job as co-CEO, so Brooke's sudden desire to ascend to the Forrester throne felt like it came out of nowhere. She wants to recreate the magic of Eric (John McCook) and Stephanie (Susan Flannery), but it takes more than a title to replicate that kind of business acumen. It's also clear that Steffy's trauma regarding Brooke runs a lot deeper than this current situation. This is about a lifetime of Steffy feeling like she always comes second place to Brooke with Ridge.

Hope (Annika Noelle) lit the initial fire under her mother that got the ball rolling about Brooke's sudden thirst for power. Brooke is convinced that Ridge is going to tell Steffy that it's a for sure thing and that there is no way around the demotion. However, she's failing to truly take into consideration what she's actually asking of her husband. He's being forced to make a public declaration of which woman in his life he supports more in the top spot. Does he go with his daughter, who has been in the position for years, or does Brooke get what she wants simply because she's Brooke? If Ridge isn't careful, there's a possibility that Steffy could make the choice for him and do the unthinkable.

There's so much chatter about the idea of Hope defecting from Forrester to Logan and how it could blow up Brooke and Katie's (Heather Tom) relationship even further. However, there's another option brewing that nobody seems to be considering. It's a possibility that could detonate the war between fashion houses into something more explosive than anything that has already gone down. What if Steffy got so fed up with her treatment at the company and the mere suggestion that she should step aside for Brooke that she went to work at Logan? Steffy could shatter Ridge's heart into a million pieces by getting into business with the enemy, namely Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).

Steffy jumping ship to Logan and going up against Brooke and Ridge would be the fashion story of the century. However, not only would Steffy be competing against her father and Brooke, but she'd also be working alongside her ex-husband, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). With Hope at Logan and Steffy working so intimately with Liam, there are so many possibilities that could arise. Steffy and Hope have battled for so many years over Liam, and despite Steffy's content marriage with Finn (Tanner Novlan), it's possible that old flames might rekindle.
