Here is what happened on Days of our Lives on Friday, December 12, 2025, when Leo asked for help, Maggie confronted Jeremy, and the crypt got a new captive.
What happened on Days of our Lives

When Johnny suggested that they could be dealing with family stuff, Leo noted that Gwen had joined the family after marrying Dimitri. Leo added that since the marriage, Dimitri had disappeared and left all his money behind with Gwen. “It does smell kind of fishy,” Johnny admitted. Johnny asked Leo if his interest was in EJ or Dimitri. Leo stressed that he had moved on from his ex, and that he was more interested in the story behind the lab.
“And who knows, maybe these sudden disappearances of your family members might be tied to this, too,” Leo said. “You’ve piqued my interest,” Johnny admitted. Johnny was able to zoom in close enough for Leo to make an attempt to lip-read. “Looks like your father is telling Gwen that she’s going to have to handle something, and she does not look happy about it,” Leo said. Johnny asked Leo to leave the footage with him, and he would work on it more and send him the results.
While the software ran, Johnny put Trey in the bassinet. “What is your grandfather up to now? It’s like every time I think I might want a relationship with him, he goes and does something like this,” Johnny said. Johnny promised Trey that he would never hurt him the way EJ had hurt Johnny. “I’ll always be the kind of father you can be proud of,” Johnny said.
Alex and Stephanie sipped lattes in the square after they picked up a Christmas tree. Stephanie admitted that she was thinking about writing a romance novel set at Christmas. Alex suggested they do “research” for the book at home. As the two headed home, Alex spotted Jeremy across the square, hugging Maggie.
At the cafe, Jeremy told Maggie about his trip to New York City and his students, including Rachel and Thomas. “I noticed you were pretty vocal about your support of Chad’s position [in the custody case],” Maggie said. Jeremy said he believed the kids were better off with their father and that he was surprised that Jennifer disagreed. Maggie admitted that she was conflicted.
“I’m just glad Chad has someone in his corner, and I just hope someone finds him soon,” Maggie said. Jeremy asked about Titan, and he offered to help if he could. Maggie mentioned the crazed fan mail that had been sent to a Titan author. “I assume that the author in question is Stephanie Johnson, and that Alex Kiriakis put you up to asking me about this,” Jeremy said. Maggie admitted that Alex and Kate had both shared their concerns. Jeremy asked Maggie if she believed he was the fan. When Maggie said nothing, Jeremy groaned.
“First, I’m accused of outing Stephanie as Anastasia Sands, which I did not do. Now you and the Titan execs think I’m sending her pathetic love letters? My God, how little must you think of me,” Jeremy said. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you,” Maggie said. Maggie explained that the letters had been written by a left handed person. Jeremy noted that he was ambidextrous. “I just felt I had to ask,” Maggie said. Annoyed, Jeremy said he did not feel like Maggie was in his corner. “You were like a grandma to me. I thought you had my back. It turns out you think the worst of me, just like everybody else,” Jeremy said. Jeremy walked away.
Back at Alex and Stephanie’s apartment, Stephanie talked about her childhood as they set up the tree. Stephanie suggested that in the future when they had a yard, they could plant their own trees. “Maybe a few kids running around?” Alex said. “That too. Some day,” Stephanie said. After they fixed the tree, Stephanie’s phone rang, and she rejected the call.
“My New Year’s resolution is to find more balance between my work life and my love life,” Stephanie said. As they decorated the tree, Alex made a crack about replacing the ornaments with the ones made by their children in the future. “This is the second time today you’ve brought up having kids,” Stephanie said. “Getting ahead of myself, aren’t I?” Alex said. Stephanie nodded yes. Alex explained that having seen Johnny’s pictures of Trey had made him envious.
“But I think I will refrain from that topic a bit. I saw how reluctant you were discussing having kids when we were with little Trey and he spit up on you,” Alex said. “I didn’t mind,” Stephanie said. Alex confessed that he had never thought about having kids until he had fallen in love with Stephanie. “I don’t know. It just feels right,” Alex said. As Alex left for work, he spotted a fresh letter from the stalker fan. Alex opened it and dropped it to the ground after white powder emerged. “What the hell?” Alex said.
On a laptop, someone named “SandsFan69” messaged with someone named “Devoted&Unseen.” Devoted wrote, “Don’t try to kill him. If you go to prison, you’ll never get the girl.” SandsFan69 wrote back, “Guess I’ll have to make sure I don’t get caught.”
In his office, Rafe informed Cat that Jada had obtained a search warrant for the DiMera mansion, but that the secret room had been empty. “Someone knew that you were down there investigating, and you got caught. And now your whole cover may be blown,” Rafe said. Cat argued that there was no evidence that she had been the one to tip off the police. When Cat told Rafe that her worries for Chad had made her impulsive, Rafe reminded Cat that they did not know if EJ was involved with Chad’s disappearance.
“Which is why you have to take your emotions out of it until this operation is done,” Rafe said. Rafe noted that Cat’s actions could have put Chad in more danger if EJ had been the kidnapper. “You’ve made your point. Can we get back to the case now? If Chad really is in more danger because of what I did, perhaps we should focus on finding him opposed to assigning blame,” Cat said.
Cat talked about the video that showed Chad exiting the Salem Inn the night before Thanksgiving. “Right before Julie and EJ received texts from him, or rather from his phone,” Rafe added. Rafe suggested that Tony’s phone calls had been faked, too, and Cat agreed. “Clearly, the kidnapper was trying to delay anyone figuring out that their victims were missing,” Cat said. Rafe noted that if EJ was the kidnapper, he would have known that Chad would be reported missing because of the custody case.
“You seem very determined to keep EJ as the prime suspect. I don’t know, are you sure it’s not you that’s making things personal now?” Cat asked. Confused, Rafe asked Cat why she wanted to give EJ the benefit of the doubt. Cat argued that Rafe’s bias may have clouded his judgment. “I know the DiMeras. And I know when it comes to family or power, they will generally choose the latter,” Rafe argued. Rafe said that until they had evidence exonerating EJ, he was the most likely suspect. Rafe advised Cat to watch her back and not take any risks.
In the DiMera living room, EJ told Gwen that someone had told Jada about Rolf’s room in the basement. “Who would do that?” Gwen asked. “My question exactly,” EJ countered. Gwen argued that she had as much to lose as EJ if the information about Rolf had been exposed. “So you claim,” EJ muttered. EJ argued that no one else knew. Gwen reminded EJ that Susan knew, but EJ stressed that Susan had promised she had kept his secret.
“Where did you move the mad doctor?” Gwen asked. “All you need to know is that he’s been relocated,” EJ said. Gwen asked if someone could have seen Rolf exiting the tunnels. EJ suggested that Leo could have been the informant. “Are you sure you haven’t said anything to him?” EJ asked. Gwen stressed that she had told Leo nothing. Concerned, EJ warned Gwen to prove that Leo was innocent, or he would take care of Leo for her.
“I can get through to him,” Gwen said. “You’ve said that before, and yet he remains a thorn in our side,” EJ countered. Gwen asked EJ what he planned to do to Leo. “Best you not know,” EJ said with a smirk. EJ called Rita, and he asked her to complete a job.
As Gwen exited the mansion, she ran into Leo. “You shouldn’t be here,” Gwen said. Leo interrupted to loudly proclaim that he had video evidence that Gwen and EJ were working together, and that he would expose their scheme. “Unless you come clean right now,” Leo said. Gwen warned Leo that if he did not leave town, he could end up dead. Gwen returned inside. EJ was gone, but his phone was on the floor.
While Kristen and Tony slept at the back of the DiMera crypt, Theo stared at the human bone they had pulled out of the hole in the ground up front. Chad said he thought the bones belonged to Abigail. Theo looked at the bones more closely, and he noted that they looked like the bones of someone larger than Abigail. Theo and Chad discussed possible candidates. The door to the crypt opened and someone dropped an unconscious EJ inside.
