Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on Days of our Lives

It's been 10 years since Hope shot Stefano DiMera in a fit of rage, blaming him for Bo Brady's death (which turned out to be a false alarm). While we thought he was dead then, Days of our Lives later claimed he was alive in 2017, but of course, we never saw him. Then, we learned he was really dead. That didn't stop Rolf from injecting the "essence" of Stefano into Steve Johnson during the 2019/2020 time jump, turning him into Stevano. Now, it looks like EJ (with Rolf's help) is trying to bring Stefano back to life yet again. And honestly, it's getting old. Yes, we know he is the Phoenix that rises from the dead. He first started doing it in 1983, but it was time to end that tradition in 2016 when legendary actor Joseph Mascolo passed away. He is the one and only Stefano, and his character needs to be put to rest. Constantly trying to resurrect a character who was only played by one actor for nearly 40 years when the actor has passed just feels wrong. It should not matter if returning from the dead is the character's signature trait. It's time for DAYS to turn the page on Stefano's Phoenix activities and remember him as the larger-than-life patriarch and villain he was, which would honor Mascolo much more than constantly trying to bring Stefano back to life.
