Days of our Lives Recap, April 27-May 1, 2026: A blow up, a blowout, and a blow to the head

On Days of our Lives for the week of April 27th through May 1st, 2026, Alex met his daughter, Stephanie pushed Jeremy out of her life, Gabi paired with Titan, Philip backed Xander’s ultimatum to Marlena, Chad questioned Theo, EJ asked for help, Liam defended Ari against Sophia, Sophia attempted to set Johnny on fire, and Kristen finally got her revenge.

Joy introduced Alex to his daughter, Kelsey. After their chat, Joy met up with Jeremy to thank him for encouraging her to tell Alex about Kelsey. Alex told Stephanie that he was a dad. Hurt, Stephanie argued that Alex had gotten what he wanted from someone else. Stephanie told Alex that the baby was a sign that they were not meant to be.

Stephanie cried in Jeremy’s arms. When Jeremy kissed Stephanie, she stressed that there was nothing between them. Stephanie added that even if she were not with Alex, she would never date Jeremy again after how he had treated her the first time. When Stephanie asked Jeremy if he had invited Joy, he admitted he had encouraged Joy to tell the truth. Stephanie told Jeremy that she no longer wanted him in her life.

Alex asked Sarah to run a paternity test on Joy’s baby. Sarah admitted she had known that Joy was pregnant, but she had not known the outcome. Stephanie told Alex that she was still committed to him, no matter the outcome. However, Stephanie confided to Marlena that she was not ready to raise someone else’s child. Jeremy decided to move back to New York.

Gabi and Philip had sex in an office at Titan that is reserved for the CEO of the company. Titan’s proposal for Gabi Chic was not good, but Gabi agreed to accept the offer because she believed in the partnership. Brady asked Philip to talk to Xander about Basic Black, but Philip advised Marlena to take the deal and work with Kate.

Brady overrode Kristen’s authority at Bayview to allow Marlena to visit Rachel. When Marlena asked about Basic Black, Brady explained that Philip had backed Xander’s ultimatum. Brady argued that Xander’s jealousy over Sarah had caused the situation. Marlena suggested they find a compromise to suit everyone.

Liam defended Ari when she got in a fight with Sophia in the bookstore. Ari told Sophia that she was dead to her after what she had done to Holly. Sophia started a social media campaign to bait Holly and Ari into badmouthing her online. The plan backfired when students piled on mean comments about Sophia online. Gabi learned who Liam really was, and she ordered him to stay away from Ari.

Abe advised Theo to hand off his duties as executor of Stefano’s will to EJ, but Theo refused. When Chad ran into Theo, he questioned whether or not EJ had pushed him to quit as CEO. Theo lost his temper, and he stressed that the decision had been his alone. Chad talked to Theo about EJ’s pod experiment. When Chad suggested that Abigail had been in the pod, Theo cautioned Chad not to get his hopes up. Theo stressed that if Abigail were alive, EJ would have told Chad.

EJ asked Marlena for help to recover his memories of Cat from their shared past. Marlena reluctantly agreed. When EJ told Marlena that she had been named a beneficiary in Stefano’s will, Marlena noted it had not been the first time. Marlena said she planned to skip the reading, even if it meant forfeiture of her inheritance. EJ urged Marlena to get closure on her connection to Stefano and attend the reading.

The comments on Sophia’s social media post sent her into a tailspin. Kristen gave Sophia a gun to shoot Johnny, but Sophia was reluctant to use it. Kristen reminded Sophia that she needed her help to start a new life. Shawn had prepared to leave the hospital and move in with Jada. Brady’s fingerprint testing on Holly’s vitamins proved that Sophia had handled the bottle. Jada promised to question Sophia.

Johnny asked Chanel if she had scheduled her mammogram, but Chanel told him that she would handle it. When radiology had an opening, Chanel canceled her aquarium trip to see the doctor instead. Chanel was unable to reach Johnny to tell him about the appointment. Sarah confided to Kayla that she had a bad feeling about Chanel’s health.

Plot twist

EJ informed Johnny that he had worked out an agreement with Justin to avoid the plagiarism lawsuit. Johnny asked EJ to join him for lunch with Trey before Stefano’s will reading. After EJ left, Sophia attacked Johnny and tied him up. Sophia explained that the only way to remove Johnny from her son’s life was to kill Johnny. Sophia set up a trap to blow up the apartment. A neighbor reported a gas leak, and Javi traced it to Johnny’s apartment. Javi was able to isolate the fire to the kitchen and deliver Johnny to the hospital.

Sophia wrote a suicide note, and she had a tearful moment with her mother. When Brady and Jada arrived at the house to question Sophia about the vitamin switch, Sophia escaped through her window. Sophia confronted Holly in the square about her social media posts. Holly admitted that a part of her wished Sophia were dead. While out searching, Jada and Brady told Holly and Tate about Sophia’s suicide note.

At the hospital, Johnny told Sarah that Sophia had attempted to kill him. Sarah told Jada what Sophia had done. As the police stepped up their search for Sophia, she met up with Kristen by the river. Sophia staged the scene to look like a suicide. As Sophia asked for her payment, Kristen knocked her unconscious. Two DIMera henchmen tossed Sophia’s body into the river. Kristen smiled, and she noted that revenge was sweet.
