Here’s your Days of our Lives recap for Monday, April 6, 2026, in which Dimitri and Leo get honest, Kristen and Sophia solidify their scheme team, and Cat tries to cover her tracks.
What Happened on Days of our Lives
At the hospital, Leo couldn’t believe his eyes when Dimitri appeared in his hospital room. Certain he was in the grip of a fever dream or hallucination, Leo started rambling. A bemused Dimitri let him go on before gently cutting Leo off and assuring his ex he was actually there. Dimitri took a seat and explained to Leo that he’d gotten in touch with an “old comrade,” who had helped Dimitri don a disguise and escape Alamainia. Leo was confused but ultimately relieved that Dimitri was safe and sound.
Dimitri spotted his name on the musings Leo had written down, and the discovery gave him the opening to broach the subject of what returning to town meant for Leo and him. Leo rambled a bit more before getting serious and admitting he had been wrestling with his feelings through the written word. While being with Dimitri was “exciting, chaotic, and passionate,” being with Javi made Leo feel “safe” and like he could be the better person he had secretly harbored hopes of becoming. Dimitri, in turn, opened up about how Leo made him “brave” and no longer willing to hide from the world and from himself. Leo made Dimitri want so much more than becoming a “cold DiMera clone.”
Dimitri declared his love for Leo but quickly backed off. He promised to give Leo “space” and to redirect his focus to getting his life back from Gwen. After Dimitri mentioned wanting to see what the future looked like for him, he hopefully added, “And perhaps what a future looks like for us.”
Later, Dimitri accompanied Leo on a stroll through the hospital hallways. During the exercise excursion, the duo ran into Cat. While Leo and Cat exchanged brief pleasantries, Dimitri seemed distracted and asked if he knew Cat from somewhere. She claimed they hadn’t met previously and made an abrupt exit. When Dimitri and Leo returned to his room, Leo got resettled in his bed.
Dimitri recalled why Cat seemed so familiar…she sounded exactly like an ISA analyst Dimitri had once contacted. Leo blew off the connection and engaged in more light-hearted rambling. Dimitri prepared to depart, but not before Leo thanked Dimitri for saving his life. "You saved my life," Dimitri sincerely replied, "and you have my heart; you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." When Dimitri kissed Leo on the forehead, Leo responded by pulling Dimitri into a deeper kiss.
At the DiMera offices, Johnny stopped by to officially turn over the reins to Theo and to apologize for the scandal with the book. Theo shocked Johnny by first indicating that he knew nothing about the plagiarism claims and then by saying it wasn’t his problem anymore. While Johnny had wanted to see if he could still work at DiMera, Theo was prepared to hand him the CEO job for good. Despite Johnny’s attempts to get answers, Theo would only say that he’d had a change of heart about running DiMera.
Later, in Horton Town Square, Johnny – still trying to process Theo’s actions – tried to get in touch with EJ.
At the DiMera mansion, Cat caught EJ in the middle of a tense phone conversation. When she got his attention after the call, EJ plastered on a charming grin and welcomed her. They briefly discussed Chad, who was on his way home. Cat confessed she had felt less friction while Chad was out of town. The talk soon turned to the will reading. EJ explained the terms of the will: each of Stefano’s living children – or their beneficiaries – would receive a share of the fortune, and the portion of any deceased child would be divided evenly amongst the living heirs.
Cat wondered if she’d need to attend the will reading. EJ joked about the DiMera penchant for high drama but assured Cat she would only have to be in attendance if she wanted. He still anticipated that Stefano might very well provide fireworks during the event, even from beyond the grave. Later, Theo paid EJ a visit and told his uncle he’d decided to step away from DiMera.
EJ acted surprised and hid his pleasure after Theo added that Johnny had agreed to retain his position as CEO. Theo believed circumstances had worked out for the best, but he did have questions about the plagiarism situation. EJ reassured Theo that he and Johnny had it all under control. He also honored Theo’s request to spend time with Lexie, as he believed it would be beneficial for her recovery. Theo felt bad for Paulina, especially after EJ insinuated that – if given the choice – Abe would always choose Lexie.
Back in Horton Town Square, Johnny saw Holly sitting alone at a table, distracted by her own attempts to get in touch with and make things right with Arianna. Holly put on a brave face when Johnny approached and congratulated him on the adoption becoming official. The friends traded horror stories about Sophia and her most recent actions to cause them upheaval.
Johnny couldn’t believe that Sophia had messed with Holly’s pills. He expressed his hope that Sophia would soon be brought to justice.
In the park, Kristen met up with Sophia and reiterated her extreme displeasure with EJ. She blamed him for Rachel’s troubles. When Sophia apologized for manipulating Rachel, Kristen let her know a simple sorry wouldn’t suffice. She wanted Sophia’s help to ruin EJ. Kristen sweetened the pot for Sophia by reminding the girl that she wanted revenge on Johnny, and by taking out father and son, they could “kill two birds with one stone.” Kristen’s harsh language gave Sophia pause, and she asked if Kristen intended to kill someone.
Kristen only smiled and said that the less Sophia knew, the better. But she did advise her new partner-in-crime that the DiMeras’ notorious reputation was well-earned. When Sophia mentioned revenge on Holly, Kristen said she’d leave that plan to Sophia. Following more expressions of doubt from Sophia, Kristen warned the girl that they weren’t in the midst of a “negotiation.” Sophia was to follow Kristen’s every order.
During their talk, Kristen saw an eavesdropping Cat, shut down the conversation, and sent Sophia on her way. Cat played dumb and claimed she’d only wanted to update Kristen on the reading of Stefano’s will. Meanwhile, Sophia went through Horton Town Square and saw Johnny and Holly together. She glared at the duo.
At the Brady Pub, Steve and Brady groused about baseball before moving on to the topic of Stephanie’s rescue. Steve thanked Brady for all he had done to help with Owen. Brady confided that he had another case on his hands: namely, proving Sophia’s culpability in the pill switching. He presented Steve with the pill bottle and expressed confidence that he could retrieve Sophia’s fingerprints from it. Steve was impressed with Brady’s ingenuity, as it reminded him of how Brady had figured out Sophia’s lies regarding baby Trey.
Brady attributed any investigative skills he might have acquired to his dad. Steve agreed that John was resourceful, and he saw many of the same traits in Brady. He confessed that he had considered ending Black Patch, but he had wanted to keep it going in honor of John. Although he had help from Bo and Hope, Steve believed he needed someone "local." He asked Brady if he’d be interested in “putting the ‘Black’ back in Black Patch.”
Brady was caught off guard but seemed very intrigued by the offer. He was grateful to Steve for keeping that part of his father’s legacy going and pledged to think it over. Later, Steve encountered Cat in the park. He expressed his gratitude for the help she had provided in locating Stephanie. He also apologized for the harsh way he had treated her, as recent developments had made him aware of his penchant for being biased and judgmental.
Meanwhile, Brady returned home to find Kristen angrily packing her bags. Since Rachel was back in Bayview, Kristen saw no reason to continue staying with Brady. Moreover, she couldn’t even stand to look at him.

Kristen railed at Brady and Marlena for Rachel’s predicament. Brady defended himself and Marlena and redirected the blame to Kristen. As the argument escalated, Kristen announced she never wanted to see Brady again and stormed out the door.
