Days of our Lives Recap, August 25, 2026: Gabi Demands a Ring

On the Tuesday, August 25, 2026, episode of Days of our Lives, Gabi made a demand, Javi told Leo about his break-up, Jack made an effort with Gwen, and Sarah tested Xander’s temper.

At the Horton house, Julie gave her condolences to Chad on the loss of his sister. Julie called out to the kids, and they came running to greet their father. Jack explained that Jennifer had stayed behind to cover a news story. They talked about the upcoming father-daughter dance and Chad agreed to escort Charlotte and her friend Lili.

After Chad put the kids to bed, he told Julie how much he had missed them. Julie advised Chad not to go to Italy. Chad assured Julie that the kids were fine with the plan, and that he was eager to spend time with Belle.

In the cafe square, Leo joined Gwen. When Leo asked Gwen about the loss of her investment in Rolf’s drug, Gwen avoided the subject. Leo reminded Gwen that he was on her side. Defensive, Gwen grumbled that Leo was after a story. Leo stressed that he only wanted to protect his friend. Leo argued that if Gwen were involved with Rolf’s work, EJ would use that against her. Gwen said she could handle EJ, but Leo was not convinced.

Jack interrupted and thanked Leo for helping save his daughter. When Jack asked for a hug, Leo gently shoved Gwen into Jack’s arms. Leo excused himself and left. Gwen admitted that she had not been sure that Jack had meant what he said about reconciliation. Jack said he was committed.

Gwen said that she appreciated Jack’s determination, but that she worried about Jennifer. Jack reminded Gwen that Jennifer had given her blessing. Jack assured Gwen that JJ, Thomas, and Charlotte wanted to spend time with her. Jack asked if they could spend time together before he returned to Boston, and Gwen agreed.

Jack returned to the Horton house and told Chad and Julie that he felt good after his conversation with Gwen. After Julie said Gwen’s name with disdain, Jack reminded Julie that they needed to cherish the limited time they had with their family. Julie nodded in agreement.

At the Hernandez house, Gabi noticed that Javi was upset. Javi told Gabi that Gus had moved out because he believed Javi still had feelings for Leo. Javi said he would always care about his ex, but he had moved on from Leo. When Javi complained that Gus’ sudden decision felt unfair, Gabi reminded Javi that he had ended things with Leo for the same reasons. Gabi advised Javi to be honest with himself about his feelings, because he could not run from them.

Javi stopped by the pub and Leo was there. After some awkward small talk, Leo invited Javi to join him unless he was meeting up with Gus. Javi nervously snapped that he was there to pick up take-out. When Leo apologized, Javi admitted that he was on edge because Gus had left him. Leo said he was sorry to see Javi hurt.

Javi noted that he was fine with the fact that Gus would remain with the Salem Fire Department, Leo argued that it was difficult to be around someone you loved every day when you could not be with them. “That is an ache I would not wish on anybody,” Leo said. As Javi stared into Leo’s eyes, Leo said he had to go.

Leo rejoined Gwen at the cafe in the square. Leo told Gwen that Javi and Gus had broken up, and he was upset for Javi. Leo changed the subject to Jack. Gwen admitted that she was hopeful that Jack was sincere. When Leo asked what Gwen wanted, she said, “To not get burned again by somebody I love.” Gwen told Leo that she wanted to tear down the wall around her heart.

Xander was struggling through paperwork in the Kiriakis living room when Philip walked in. Philip asked Xander not to sign the sales contract for the house because he had a plan to get the money they needed. Kate walked in, and Philip changed the subject to Lexie. Kate noted that the situation had reminded her that as painful as it was to lose the mansion, it was better than losing a loved one.

Xander said that Philip had claimed to have a plan to save Titan and the house. When Kate pushed for details, Philip refused to clarify. Philip asked for a week to pursue his plan. Kate asked Philip if his plan was dangerous or illegal, and he said no. Philip hurried out of the room to avoid more questions.

Xander admitted that he was skeptical of Philip’s plan, but that he understood why Philip felt the need to fight for their father’s legacy. Kate asked what Xander planned to do if the buyer refused an extension. Xander said he would sign the contract.

Philip went to Gabi’s house, where she warned Philip that he could not have the money if he did not take her with him to Monte Carlo. Philip called his connection and explained that he needed his fiancee to be there at the game. After the call, Philip noted that Gabi needed to play the part. Gabi playfully waved her naked finger at Philip, and she asked for a ring.

After Sarah told Brady that she wanted to accept his offer, he took Sarah back to his apartment. Brady told Sarah he loved her, and the two made love. As the two redressed, Sarah told Brady that although she was excited to move in, she dreaded telling Xander the news.

While Sarah went to the mansion, Brady ran into Kate in front of the pub. Kate apologized to Brady but Brady assured her he was not angry with her. Brady noted that there were a lot of factors that had destroyed Titan, and she should not beat herself up over her part in the decline. Brady said he was sorry to hear about the sale of the mansion. With a grin, Brady said Sarah and Victoria were moving in with him.

At the mansion, Xander asked Sarah about her apartment search. When Sarah told Xander about moving into Brady’s place, Xander breathed deeply, clearly fighting his temper. As Sarah talked about why the decision made sense, Xander agreed. Xander told Sarah that he was happy that Sarah and Victoria would be close. Sarah was surprised by Xander’s response. With a shrug, Xander noted, “It’s the new and improved me.” Sarah admitted she was impressed.

Xander asked Sarah if she could take pictures of him with Victoria at the dance, and Sarah agreed. Sarah noted that she needed to pack. Once Sarah was out of the room, Xander grabbed a stress ball, and he clenched it until it cracked in half.
