Days of our Lives Recap August 3 to 7: Revelations, Rescues, and Loan Repayments

On Days of our Lives the week of August 3rd through 7th, 2026, Sarah told Holly about EJ, Xander committed to therapy over romance, EJ called in the full loan, Lexie was discovered, Kristen posed as Susan, Joy suffered a medical setback, Alex argued with Stephanie about her interference, and Dimitri vowed to hold Gwen and Leo hostage indefinitely.

Wine Cellar Days and Nights

Holly questioned why Sarah was suddenly convinced that she was innocent. Sarah told Holly about the theory that EJ was to blame. Holly was horrified, but she admitted that it made sense. Amy visited Holly to tell her that she was dropping the lawsuit but that she would continue to follow her around town and harass her for the rest of her life.

After Xander and Philip invited Sarah to join them in a celebratory toast for Titan, Philip manipulated Xander and Sarah to retrieve wine from the cellar. Philip locked the exes in the basement together to help them reconnect. Kate disagreed with Philip’s tactic, but Philip insisted that Xander and Sarah were meant to be. Kate argued that Philip could not mess with Brady’s love life again. Philip opened the door just before Xander and Sarah kissed.

When Xander went to therapy the next day, he told Marlena what had happened. Marlena cautioned Xander to remember that just because Sarah was still attracted to him, it did not mean that she wanted to be in a relationship with him again. Marlena told Xander that she was proud of his progress, but that he needed to think about Sarah’s point of view. When a nervous Sarah asked to talk about the moment from the cellar, Xander pretended not to understand what Sarah was talking about.

Philip admitted to Xander that he had locked Xander and Sarah into the basement. Xander said he was glad Philip had interrupted, because he needed to finish his therapy before he could be in a relationship again. While Xander and Philip celebrate their good fortune in the square, EJ saw them. After a call to Rita, EJ discovered that Gabi had given the brothers the money to make a loan payment. EJ called in the entire amount of the loan. Xander and Philip blamed themselves, and Alex was furious that Gabi and the brothers had antagonized EJ further.

Rita reported that Kristen could not be removed to the island because Leo had taken the jet to Alamania. Rita convinced EJ that they needed to release Kristen rather than make her wait. Lexie was inside the container. Lexie begged to go to the island, but EJ asked Lexie to stay with him instead so that she was not alone when she died. EJ quietly asked Rita to find Kristen.

Lexie appealed to EJ on Kristen’s behalf. EJ agreed to think about it. EJ encouraged Lexie to come clean to her family, but Lexie refused to admit the truth before she passed. Paulina shared her concerns about Lexie with Lani. Lani agreed to look into the circumstances of Lexie’s sudden disappearance. When Johnny asked Lani about Kristen, Lani agreed that the timing of Kristen’s disappearance was strange. Johnny confronted EJ about Kristen, and he told Johnny that Kristen was responsible for Sophia’s attempt on Johnny’s life.

Kristen texted Brady to tell him that she would be gone for an extended period of time. Concerned, Brady showed Marlena the text. Brady decided to follow up with Steve. Steve agreed with Brady that EJ might have done something to Kristen. Kristen disguised herself as Susan so that she could visit Rachel. Brady realized it was Kristen, and he confronted her. Kristen told Brady that she was in danger from EJ, and she gave him a way to reach her while she was in hiding. Brady told her to reach out if she needed help.

Rafe told Cat that he was following Leo, and he needed her to stay behind. A restless Javi told Gus that he needed to go with Rafe to help Leo. Gus said he understood Javi’s need to help, but he asked Javi why he wanted to go to Alamainia. Javi noted that although he had Gus and his family, Leo was alone in the world. Gus gave his blessing. Javi asked to join Rafe, and Rafe said no. When Javi was unable to book a seat on the plane himself, Rafe counseled Javi to take that as a sign to stay in Salem.

Leo arrived in Alamainia, and he decided that Dimitri was likely holding Gwen in the same home where Dimitri had been held captive. When Leo arrived, Gwen was relieved to see Leo, but she was concerned that he had traveled while he was recovering from a concussion. As Dimitri interrupted the two besties to ask if Leo had missed him, Leo realized that Dimitri intended to hold both him and Gwen captive. Dimitri said he intended to keep Leo there until he realized how much he loved Dimitri. When Leo faked appendicitis, Dimitri called his bluff, and he informed Leo and Gwen that he intended to move them to a more secure location.

tephanie confided in Theo about her unfortunate discussion with Joy about the custody agreement. Joy told Alex about her argument with Stephanie, and that she intended to leave Salem because of it. Alex begged Joy to stay. Joy agreed but she threatened to leave if Stephanie harassed her again. Joy confessed to Kelsey that Stephanie was right, Joy wanted to be a family with Alex. When Joy attempted to lift Kelsey’s carrier, she winced. Kayla ran tests to diagnose the reason for the numbness in Joy’s arm. With a long recovery ahead of Joy, Alex informed Stephanie that he would move into Joy’s room so that he could watch Kelsey. Stephanie said he was not allowed.
