Days of our Lives Recap August 4: Leo Falls Into Dimitri's Trap

On the Tuesday, August 4, 2026, episode of Days of our Lives, Brady worries about Kristen, Sarah struggles with guilt, Marlena cautions Xander, and Dimitri closes his trap.

When Brady mentioned that Sarah would be joining him and Rachel at the Brady Pub for breakfast, a disappointed Rachel asked when she would get to see Kristen. Outside the pub, Sarah looked in the window at Brady and thought about how she had almost kissed Xander. Inside the pub, Brady reassured Rachel that Kristen would visit soon when Sarah walked in. Rachel admitted she was concerned that Kristen would not like Sarah sitting with them.

While Rachel stepped aside to talk on the phone with a friend, Brady apologized. Sarah noted that it was no surprise that Kristen did not like her because she did not like anybody that dated Brady. Brady asked about Sarah’s awkwardness when she arrived. Sarah did not tell Brady about her close encounter with Xander, but she admitted that she was concerned about how much things would change between them with Rachel out of Bayview.

Brady argued that his complications were no different than Sarah and her daughter and ex. Concerned, Brady asked Sarah if she did not want to fight for their relationship. Before Sarah could respond, Kristen texted Brady to tell him that she would not return to Salem for a while. Brady and Sarah agreed that it was suspicious that Kristen considered anything more important than her daughter.

In Marlena’s office, Xander was daydreaming about his almost kiss with Sarah when Marlena arrived for their session. Marlena noted Xandr’s good mood. Xander shared the news about the influx of cash to help Titan, and his encounter with Sarah in the basement. Xander admitted that he was hopeful for a reunion with Sarah. Marlena mentioned Xander’s recent flings, and she warned Xander not to confuse a romantic moment with a future.

Although Xander was certain that Sarah felt the same way, Marlena noted that though that may be true, it did not mean that Sarah wanted to be back in a romantic relationship with Xander. Marlena added that Xander needed to conquer his anger issues before he could ever be successful in a romantic relationship.

Frustrated, Xander said he believed he had made a lot of progress, and Marlena agreed. Marlena told Xander that she was proud of how much he had changed and encouraged him to see things from Sarah’s perspective. Marlena counseled Xander to remember that physical attraction was not enough to build a life together. Before Marlena could say more, Brady texted that he urgently needed to talk to her.

When Marlena arrived at the pub, Sarah left to give Brady and Marlena privacy. Brady showed Marlena the cryptic text from Kristen. Brady asked for help talking to Rachel about Kristen’s disappearance. Marlena noted that Kristen had asked her to watch over Rachel if Kristen disappeared. Concerned, Brady decided to talk to Steve.

Sarah ran into Xander in the square after she left the pub. As Sarah fidgeted, Xander asked what was wrong. Sarah said she wanted to talk about what had happened in the wine cellar. Xander pretended that he did not know what Sarah was talking about. Sarah mentioned that she didn't want to give Xander the wrong idea, but then she told Xander to forget it. Xander smiled and said goodbye as he headed off to work.

Javi tossed and turned in his sleep as he dreamed about Leo joining Dimitri in bed. Javi cried out in his sleep, “Don’t do it!” Gus gave Javi a comforting pat on the leg as Javi continued to dream about Dimitri betraying Leo and murdering him. Javi startled awake and yelled out Leo’s name.

Gus asked Javi about his nightmare. Javi admitted he was concerned that Dimitri might kill Leo or Gwen. Gus reminded Javi that Rafe was on his way to Alamainia to help Leo, and that Javi should not worry. Javi admitted that he wanted to go with Rafe.

Gus said he understood the instinct to want to help. Gus reminded Javi how he had felt when Leo had left to help Dimitri and how it had broken them up. Gus asked Javi why he was willing to travel the world like Leo had done for Dimitri. Javi explained that he was lucky enough to have Gus and his family, but Leo was alone in the world. Gus said he understood and that he trusted Javi. Relieved, Javi promised to return as soon as Leo was safe.

In a park in Alamainia, Leo reasoned aloud that Dimitri was likely holding Gwen captive in the same house that she had held him. In that same house, Gwen threw her plate of food across the room. Dimitri chastised Gwen for her rudeness. When Dimitri promised Gwen that she did not need to worry about being poisoned, he added that he had suffered the same fear when he had been captive in this same room. Gwen again refused to admit that she had kidnapped Dimitri. Leo rang the doorbell, and he was admitted into the house. Leo rushed into Gwen’s arms when he saw her and said that he was there to rescue her.

With a grin, Dimitri asked Leo if he had had any trouble finding the house. Gwen asked why Leo had flown over when he was still recovering from a concussion. Leo said he needed to rescue his best friend. Dimitri asked Leo if he had missed him. Leo stressed that he was there to help Gwen. With a sheepish grin, Dimitri told Leo that he appreciated his big heart, and he apologized for having gone to extremes to coax Leo to come to Alamainia. As Leo realized that Dimitri intended to hold them both prisoner, he asked Dimitri how long they would be there. “For however long it takes for you to realize that we belong together,” Dimitri said.
