Days of our Lives Recap August 6: "Susan" Says Goodbye to Rachel and Brady, EJ Calls in the Titan Loan

On the Thursday, August 6, 2026, episode of Days of our Lives, Kristen found a way to see Rachel, Xander and Philip celebrated, and Amy made threats against Holly.

Holly's Bad Day

Sarah delivered a tray full of food to a pouting Holly in the Kiriakis living room. Holly wondered if Sarah was being so nice to her because she felt guilty for accusing her of taking drugs. Sarah apologized, but Holly still wasn't sure that Sarah believed her.

Holly thought that everyone changing their tune and believing her was sudden, so Sarah told Holly the truth about EJ and all of her suspicions. Holly couldn't believe her former stepfather would do something like that to her just to cover his own tracks. A distraught Holly asked Sarah to leave her alone for a bit so she could process this new information.

While Holly sat alone on the couch with a sandwich, Amy Choi appeared and told Holly that she sent sunflowers because they were Sophia's favorite. "I want you to think about what you did to her for the rest of her life," Amy said. Holly sighed and just asked Amy why she was really there. Amy said it was because she was dropping the lawsuit, but she felt that God would judge Holly for what she had not actually done.

At the Brady Pub, Brady told Steve that Kristen's latest disappearance was out of character and he agreed. There is no way she would have missed Rachel's homecoming. Steve wondered if Kristen had been kidnapped again, but Brady suspected that she was running from EJ.

Brady mentioned how Kristen seemed to be saying goodbye the last time she had seen Rachel at Bayview. Steve felt that EJ was mixed up in too many things going wrong, so he might crack and give away what has happened to Kristen. Brady just didn't want to have to explain Kristen's disappearance to Rachel.

In her room, Rachel texted Kristen to see when she'd be coming home, but only got an auto-reply that the service had been disconnected. As she spoke to her snake, S'mores, Susan appeared. Rachel was thrilled to see her Aunt Susan, but "Susan" struggled to keep her teeth in.

She told Rachel that she had a message from Kristen. Rachel learned that her mom would do anything to be with her at the moment, but she couldn't be. Susan broke the news that Kristen wouldn't be back "for a while." Rachel wondered why Aunt Susan seemed to be crying, so "Susan" said that it was just allergies.

As Rachel asked questions, Susan had a hard time coming up with stories. All Susan managed to do was upset Rachel, but a big hug that was supposed to be from Kristen made things better. Brady walked in and interrupted their moment. "Susan" said she thought Rachel knew that Kristen would be gone for a while. She also shot Brady a look that said everything.

Brady asked to speak with Aunt Susan alone in the living room. When they got downstairs, Brady chastised Kristen and asked her what was going on. Kristen confirmed Brady's theory that EJ was after her. Brady offered to help, but Kristen just wanted Brady to take care of Rachel.

Xander and Philip sat at a table in Horton Town Square with champagne as they toasted to Titan's future. Xander gave Philip all the credit for saving the company because he was the one who convinced Gabi to finally give them the money to pay the company's loan.

Philip said that he couldn't wait to see the look on EJ's face when he learned the news, so it was fortuitous that EJ happened by and wondered what the brothers could possibly be celebrating.

EJ was shocked to learn that they had just paid their loan for the next year. "Enjoy your solvency while it lasts because it won't," EJ grumbled before sauntering away. EJ immediately called Rita and demanded that she find out where the money came from.

Back at the table, Philip casually revealed that he was the one who locked Sarah and Xander in the wine cellar. Philip explained that he was just trying to throw them together because he knew Sarah and Xander belonged together. He only let them out because Kate had convinced him to.

Xander thought that was for the best because it stopped anything from happening between him and Sarah. Marlena had clearly convinced Xander that he wasn't ready for that. "Until I deal with my past, history is bound to repeat itself," Xander asserted. "For now, I'm just going to keep focusing on being the best co-parent I can possibly be."

Philip just smiled and admitted that he didn't believe a word Xander had just said. He also wanted to know where Gwen and Kristen had been, so Xander confessed that they seemed to have ghosted him. Xander asked Philip to stop contradicting Marlena since he was paying a lot of money for this personal growth.

Xander changed the subject to Philip's personal life and the kiss he had shared with Gabi last week. Philip claimed that he and Gabi had just gotten caught up in the excitement, but it had meant nothing. Just then, Sarah happened by, so Philip invited her to join them.

Bad News

Gabi sat in her office yelling at her lawyer on the phone. She wanted to sue DiMera for knocking off her bags, but her lawyer didn't think she had enough evidence against them.

When Gabi had calmed down and was just typing away on her laptop, a furious EJ stormed in and asked, "How dare you?" EJ told Gabi that she'd never get away with giving her inheritance to Titan. "Oh, honey, I already have," she said. EJ continued to rant and rave until his nose turned red and he had a sneezing fit.

As EJ blew his nose, Gabi commented that he didn't look well and then accused DiMera Enterprises of knocking off Gabi Chic handbags. "I will find proof. " No one rips me off and gets away with it," she asserted.

Later, Gabi joined the champagne celebration in the square. Gabi gave a speech on why she chose to give the money. She couldn't take back what she had done, but she could choose to do better. Sarah felt uncomfortable about that remark and left.

Xander also walked away to take a phone call, leaving Gabi and Philip alone together. When Xander returned, he looked like he was going to blow a gasket. EJ had just called in their loan. The whole amount was due by the end of the month.
