What happened on Days of our Lives

Gwen told Susan that EJ had disappeared and left his phone behind. Worried, Susan called the police. Gwen deleted the contents of EJ’s phone before the police arrived. Jada found a used needle at the spot where EJ had been abducted, and she was suspicious when she saw that his phone had been wiped clean.
Alex opened a letter, and white powder fell out. Worried about a biohazard, Alex and Stephanie warned Jada. Javi confirmed that Alex and Stephanie had not been infected by a biohazard. Steve decided that even though the powder was sugar, he believed it was only a matter of time before the stalker escalated. Steve moved in with Stephanie and Alex. When Steve pointed out that the stalker was left-handed, Stephanie noted that Jeremy was ambidextrous.
A hurt Gabi asked Javi why he had betrayed her and told Rafe about what she had done to deliver DiMera to Tony. Leo overheard the conversation, but he promised he would not say a word. Gwen reminded Leo that there would be consequences if he continued to investigate EJ. Javi pushed for details, but Gwen hinted that the results could be fatal. Leo refused to give up on his investigation, and he questioned Gwen about the delivery the night of the gala.
Ari told Gabi about the internship at DiMera, and Gabi refused to let Ari work there. Kate advised Ari to argue the nepo baby angle to convince Gabi to let Ari take the job. When Ari argued that it was better for her resume to work at a company other than her mother’s, Gabi relented. Gabi told Ari that she was proud that she had stood her ground against her.
Johnny was emotional over the news about EJ’s disappearance. Chanel attempted to comfort him, but Johnny admitted he was concerned that his last conversation with his father would be the fight they had about DiMera. Rita asked Johnny to act as temporary CEO, but Johnny refused. After Rita argued that without Johnny the company would incur a heavy tax penalty, Johnny asked Roman for advice. Roman cautioned Johnny about returning to the family. Kate reminded Johnny that if he served as CEO, he would help both DiMera and Titan save money.
Chanel’s check-up with Sarah yielded discouraging news. Sarah cautioned Chanel not to jump to the conclusion that Chanel’s cancer was back until she had run more tests. With the results not due until after Christmas, Chanel decided to keep the news to herself so that she could support Johnny. Johnny told Chanel that he felt obligated to take the CEO job on a temporary basis. Chanel disagreed, but she told Johnny that she would support him.
Rafe questioned Mark about his work in the lab and EJ’s disappearance, but Mark said he did not know anything. When Rafe hinted that lying to a federal agent was a parole violation, a spooked Mark pushed Rolf to tell him about their work. Rolf stressed that they needed to focus on the animal testing for results. Rolf refused to tell Mark the true purpose of their research.
Rachel told Brady and Tate that her new friend was the mute Sophia. Tate intended to tell Brady about his plans to go to Paris for Christmas, but when Brady told Tate he was glad that Tate would be there to support Rachel on Christmas, Tate said nothing.
Belle told Marlena that Brady had moved out. Marlena decided to stop seeing patients because of how she had handled Rachel’s case. Belle cautioned Marlena not to make such a big decision when she was still emotional. Marlena was discharged and went home with Belle.
When Xander dropped off presents for Victoria at the Kiriakis mansion, he learned that Brady had moved into the Kiriakis mansion. Jealous, Xander accused Sarah of having feelings for Brady. Sarah argued that her personal life was none of his business, just as whomever he loved was none of her business. Xander admitted he would never move on with someone else.
Jennifer told Thomas about Chad’s disappearance. Upset, Thomas yelled at Jennifer for lying to him like Chad. Thomas lamented that he had said horrible things to his father. Jennifer convinced Thomas to go to Boston with her, but she did not tell him he was in danger of being kidnapped.
Paulina blamed herself for Theo’s disappearance. Abe argued that Theo had made his own decision, and she was not to blame. Abe confided to Paulina that he was worried he would not get to tell Theo how proud he was of him. Jeremy filled in for Abe at Liam’s literacy class. Jeremy helped Liam with his resume.
Chad and Theo updated EJ on their captivity in the crypt. Chad accused EJ of being the kidnapper. EJ argued that the kidnapper wanted them to fight. Kristen’s hand appeared to be infected, and she became feverish. EJ told Kristen and Chad how Rachel had remembered the shooting. When EJ explained that Rachel was in Bayview, Kristen became inconsolable. Overnight, another sibling was dumped in the crypt. Kristen welcomed her brother Peter before she passed out.
