Here is what happened on Days of our Lives, Friday, December 19, 2025, when Ari upset Gabi, Kate gave Johnny advice, and Chanel received discouraging news.
What happened on Days of our Lives

Gabi arrived at her office, and she smiled as she looked at the roses decorating the room. When Philip arrived, Gabi asked if he had sent the flowers. “Nothing is too much when it comes to you,” Philip said. Philip suggested they meet up for a romantic drive after work. “This hasn’t been the best year for me, as you know. But you’ve made it quite bearable,” Philip said. Philip told Gabi that she was the only good thing that had happened to him in a long time. “I am the lucky one,” Gabi said. Gabi kissed Philip.
At the pub, Kate told Ari that DiMera Enterprises was interested in hiring her as an intern for the next semester. Ari explained that Gabi had been upset at the idea of her working for DiMera. “Every time I tell her that I really want something, she goes into this overprotective mode,” Ari said. Kate said she understood Gabi’s point of view. “What is she so worried about?” Ari argued. Kate advised Ari to convince Gabi that an internship at Gabi Chic would make her a nepo baby.
“Instead of telling her that I don’t want to work for her, because I know she’s a really tough boss, I’m just gonna have to convince her that working for Gabi Chic would hold me back. And that DiMera is what’s best for my future,” Ari said. Kate agreed, and she wished Ari luck.
Johnny stopped by the pub and asked Roman for advice about whether to take the job offer to temporarily run DiMera Enterprises in Theo’s absence. “I’m kind of thinking I should do it,” Johnny said. Roman asked Johnny why he wanted to go back to the family after having successfully pulled away from them. “It would just be temporary,” Johnny said. Johnny explained that if there were problems with the separation of DiMera from Titan, it could affect the taxes.
“And according to the DiMera bylaws, the only way Dimera can be divested from this merger–” Johnny started. “Is if a DiMera signs off on it,” Roman finished. Johnny argued that he was the only one left that could handle the problem. Roman told Johnny that he understood why he wanted to help, but that he was concerned that he would end up like his other family members.
“I’ve already got a target on my back just for being a DiMera. Would this make it any bigger? I don’t know,” Johnny said. Johnny added that he had a police detail following him. “I hate to raise a morbid thought, but what if your father and the others who are missing are never found?” Roman asked. Johnny refused to entertain the idea.
Kate and Ari came over to the table, and Ari asked about Trey. Johnny confirmed that Trey was doing well. Ari made plans to drop off a gift for Trey later. Ari left, and Roman noted he needed to go back to the kitchen. “Remember what I said, Johnny. This is your decision, but think long and hard about it,” Roman said. After Roman walked away, Johnny told Kate about his choice. Kate told Johnny that both Titan and Dimera would benefit from Johnny taking the job. Johnny admitted he was concerned about losing his job at Titan once Theo had returned home.
“If you wanted your job back at Titan, it’s going to be there. I promise you that, Johnny, especially after you’re going to be saving us millions of dollars that really we can’t afford to spare right now,” Kate said. “No pressure there,” Johnny joked. Kate told Johnny that she believed he could handle the job. After Johnny left, Kate called DiMera and told them about her conversation with Johnny. “Taking advantage of his inexperience could be a huge boon for Titan,” Kate said.
Ari visited Gabi at her office to deliver a plant to her mother. “I brought them because I’m very proud of you mom. Also as a bit of a peace offering,” Ari said. Gabi asked why. Ari explained that she was going to take the internship with DiMera. Gabi argued against the job, but Ari countered that it would look bad on her resume if the only job on there was one at her mother’s company. “Why can’t you just let me do this?” Ari asked. Ari argued that Gabi had built her company on her own, and she wanted to do the same thing.
“Okay. You’ve raised some good points,” Gabi admitted. “I want this really badly,” Ari said. Gabi told Ari she would be bored in the mail room, but Ari disagreed. Gabi agreed to make an effort to not comment negatively on Ari’s job. “As much as I don’t love this decision, I am proud of you for your tenacity, for standing your ground on this,” Gabi said. Ari thanked Gabi for seeing her point of view. “And for being the best mom anyone can ask for,” Ari said.
Chanel met with Sarah for a check-up at the hospital. “Your blood work shows elevated levels of hCG,” Sarah confirmed. “The cancer is back,” Chanel said with a nod. Sarah cautioned Chanel not to jump to the worst conclusion. “But the worst is the most likely reason for the hCG levels to be so elevated,” Chanel countered. Sarah argued that she wanted to run additional tests to be sure before they confirmed a diagnosis. Chanel held back tears, and she admitted that she was terrified of the idea that she would not be there to raise her son.
“Try not to jump to conclusions,” Sarah advised. Sarah confirmed that she would not have test results until after the holidays. “Try to enjoy your first Christmas with your little guy,” Sarah said. Overwhelmed, Chanel sniffled back tears, and she noted that she needed to be strong for Johnny and Abe. Sarah told Chanel that she would be there if she needed to talk.
Chanel returned home to the apartment, and she cried on the couch. After Chanel cleaned up and put Trey down for a nap, Johnny returned home. Johnny asked Chanel about her doctor’s appointment. “It went fine. I’m just waiting on results,” Chanel said. With a sigh, Johnny told Chanel that he wanted to take the CEO job. Chanel argued that it was dangerous for Johnny to take the job, but Johnny countered that he was a candidate for kidnapping regardless. Johnny admitted that he did not want to work at DiMera, but he felt like he needed to step in for his family’s sake.
“This is just going to be temporary. Till Theo gets back in the chair where he belongs,” Johnny promised. Johnny confessed that he felt helpless, and he wanted to do something. “Then I won’t stand in your way,” Chanel said. As Johnny went to call Rita to accept the job, Chanel stifled her emotions.
In the crypt, Chad and Theo continued to dig. Chad confirmed that Kristen’s fever was still raging. Theo looked over, and he noticed a new unconscious body had been dropped off in the crypt overnight. Chad and Theo unmasked the new captive, and he groaned. “Peter?” Kristen said as she stumbled over. Chad and Theo helped Peter to his feet.
“Kristen?” Peter said. Kristen hugged her brother. “It’s so good to see. I just wish it wasn’t in this place,” Kristen said. Kristen explained that they had all been kidnapped and stashed in the DiMera crypt. “Who’s we?” Peter said. “I’m Chad. I’m your brother. This is your nephew,” Chad said. Theo introduced himself.
When Kristen said she had hoped to see Peter under better circumstances, Peter explained that he had been planning a trip to visit after he had heard about their mother. “Is there any chance that [EJ] is the one that put us in here?” Peter asked. “We thought it was a possibility until he got shoved in here with us,” Theo said. Chad confirmed that EJ and Tony were sleeping at the back of the crypt. “This really is a DiMera family reunion,” Peter muttered. Kristen admitted that she was still suspicious that EJ was behind the kidnapping but less so as each day passed.
“Time will tell, I suppose,” Peter said. When Kristen commented that she was sorry that Peter had not gotten to see their mother, he said he had been able to have a brief visit with Rachel Blake before he had been kidnapped. “I’d hoped to see you too, but they had already taken you to Statesville,” Peter said. Chad noted that the addition of Peter supported his theory that the direct heirs were the focus of the kidnapping plot.
“If your theory is accurate, then that means whoever put us in here wants to kill us,” Peter said. “Or at least get us out of the way for a very long time,” Theo said. When Peter pointed out that Theo was not one of Stefano’s children, Chad explained that Theo was the CEO of DiMera Enterprises. “That’s the other piece of the inheritance,” Chad said. Chad noted that Meghan was unlikely because she was avoiding the police.
“Then there is Stefan. Personally, my money is on him,” Theo said. Peter asked if Stefan was ruthless enough to do this to his family. “Stefan is the worst of the worst. And if he is responsible for all of this, I hope he rots in hell,” Chad said. The siblings resumed digging until Kristen screamed in frustration about her daughter. Peter asked about Rachel, and Kristen noted that Rachel was in Bayview. “Why?” Peter asked. Kristen broke down in tears. Chad felt Kristen’s forehead, and he noted that her fever had spiked from the infection. “I’m fine!” Kristen shrieked before she passed out.
