What happened on Days of our Lives on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, when Gwen had fun with Gabi, Cat tracked Peter, and the DiMera kidnapper revealed themselves.
What happened on Days of our Lives

In the DiMera living room, Gabi arrived to meet Gwen. Gwen offered a large sum of money for a Gabi Chic original for New Year’s Eve. Gabi agreed. When Gwen cracked that she had plenty of money since her husband disappeared, Gabi asked if she had heard from Dimitri.
“I still have no idea where he is,” Gwen said. Gabi asked about Stefan, and she admitted she was curious about his life and if he was okay. “With so many DiMeras missing,” Gabi said with a shrug. Gwen told Gabi that she hoped Stefan resurfaced. “That is if you want him to,” Gwen added. Gabi said she did not want Stefan to return, but she regretted how she had hurt Stefan by sleeping with EJ.
“By the time I was ready to forgive Stefan, he wasn’t ready to forgive me,” Gabi said. “What did you expect?” Gwen said with a chuckle. Gabi agreed her actions had been too big of a betrayal. After an offhanded comment about Leo by Gwen, Gabi admitted that Leo had grown on her.
“I’m even looking forward to his wedding with Javi,” Gabi said. “Yeah. He’s getting married on New Year’s Eve, isn’t he?” Gwen said. Gabi nodded yes. Gwen said she was happy for Leo. “I’ve had some time to think about it, and honestly, I realized that I just let all my anger out on him for him and Dimitri betraying me. And I think it’s because [Leo] was the one that was there,” Gwen said.
“If it’s any consolation, I know Leo deeply regrets how he torpedoed your friendship,” Gabi countered. Gabi explained that she had heard Leo talk about his regrets with Javi around the house. “He really misses you, Gwen,” Gabi said. “I miss him too, actually,” Gwen admitted. Gwen gave Gabi permission to tell Leo.
With a grin, Gwen and Gabi admitted that they had fun hanging out together. Gabi and Gwen had an awkward hug goodbye, and they wished one another Merry Christmas. “I will be sure to tell Leo what you said,” Gabi noted. After Gabi left, Gwen called someone to ask about a date. “I have a feeling that I’m going to be invited to a wedding,” Gwen said.
In the Hernandez kitchen, Javi and Leo talked about Trey’s first Christmas and wedding plans. When Javi asked Leo about his best man, Leo admitted he had wanted to ask Chad. Javi confessed that although he was worried about Chad, he was fine with EJ remaining missing because he had threatened Leo. Leo claimed that Gwen had been joking about EJ’s threat.
“The bark is way worse than the bite. I’m gonna be fine,” Leo said. Javi asked Leo why he could not let go of the investigation. “EJ has to be held accountable,” Leo said. Leo promised that he would be careful. Leo added that he felt like his investigation mattered, and it might help save the missing DiMeras. Javi said he understood.
“Is it a good idea to refocus your investigation on Gwen? I thought you wanted to rebuild your friendship with her?” Javi asked. “I do, believe me, more than anything,” Leo said. Leo stressed that he needed to find out what EJ and Gwen wer up to. “And who knows? Maybe I can convince Gwen to see the light? Pull her out of EJ’s sinister little orbit,” Leo said. Leo admitted that he hoped to invite Gwen to the wedding. Leo pointed out that Gwen’s warning to him about EJ was proof that she still cared about him.
When Rafe arrived at his office, Cat was still working. Cat admitted that she had been working all night. Cat told Rafe that she believed that Peter had traveled to Aremid. Cat confirmed that Peter had not turned on his phone since he had landed at the airport. Rafe ordered Cat to have agents sent to the Blake house.
Cat received a call from Leo posing as a Southern man named Dale to ask about deliveries to the clinic. “Goodbye, Leo,” Cat said before she ended the call. “I will deal with Leo. Why don’t you go home and be with your family,” Rafe said. Cat refused to leave.
At the Hernandez house, Javi prepared to go into work. As Javi kissed Leo goodbye, Rafe returned home. Rafe asked Leo why he was asking Cat about a delivery to the clinic. “If you know anything about the DiMeras and where they might be, you had better tell me, because their lives could literally depend on it,” Rafe said. Leo explained that he had no information on the disappearances, and that he was focused on the secret lab. “I swear to you, if I could help in any way, I would,” Leo said.
Cat called Rafe’s cell phone and confirmed that Peter had visited Rachel. Cat gave Rafe information on Peter’s rental car. Cat also told Rafe that she had reached out to the DiMera groundskeeper, and he had confirmed that he had heard strange noises near the crypt.
“When he went to check it out, he couldn’t find anything,” Cat said. As Rafe ended his call, Leo asked about the crypt. “When I was near the crypt myself, I heard something,” Leo said. Leo explained he had heard a moan during the ghost tour, and he had dismissed it as a Halloween sound effect.
In the DiMera crypt, Theo lay unconscious and bleeding from the head as Peter was forced to admit that he had been behind the kidnappings. Peter threatened to empty his vial of sarin gas if they attempted to make a move on him. As the siblings grumbled about Peter, he chuckled. “Guess who’s going to be the last one standing,” Peter said.
“So this is what all this is about? Money and power?” Tony asked. Peter scoffed. Peter argued that the family had never been there for him, so he intended to cut them out of his life permanently. Theo groaned, and Chad called Peter a monster. “If that vial contains what you say it does, you’d die right along with us,” EJ said. Peter said he had already taken the antidote. “Do you hate us that much? Come on, Peter, do you hate me that much?” Kristen asked. “How can I hate someone I hardly know anymore?” Peter countered. Chad argued that Peter did not know him or Theo.
“And Theo has never hurt anyone his entire life. He’s incapable of it,” Chad said. Peter argued that Theo was guilty because he was the CEO. Tony argued that Theo had only taken the job because of him. “Oh please. Theo took that position because he’s blinded by ambition. Just like everyone else in this family,” Peter argued. EJ told Peter he was the most ruthless and cunning. “And certainly the most like father,” EJ added.
When Tony pointed out that they were not the only ones standing in Peter’s way, EJ asked about Megan. Peter dismissed Megan as too obsessed with Bo to care about the family business. Peter added that Stefan was also not an option because he was dead. “You’re lying,” EJ said. Peter asked if anyone had looked for Stefan or reached out to him.
“That’s what I thought. Out of sight, out of mind, kind of like yours truly, right?” Peter said. Peter noted that the family only cared about them when they needed a shareholder vote. Peter said Vivian had told him that Stefan had died, and it had given him the idea to take out the rest of the family. Peter explained that he had unsealed the vault without any notice because no one cared.
“Welcome to your final resting place,” Peter said as he held the vial aloft. Chad pleaded with Theo to wake up. “Theo reminded me of you, the way you used to be when you were a boy. Sweet and kind,” Kristen told Peter. With a laugh, Peter said, “You mean before Stefano killed our father, destroyed our mother’s life?” Peter noted that unlike Kristen, he had never forgiven Stefano. “Everything that went wrong in my life is because of that man and this family,” Peter said.
When Kristen asked what had happened to Peter, he ranted about Stefano’s influence. Peter reiterated that EJ was as bad as Stefano. “If you are trying to get us to turn against EJ, you are going to fail,” Chad said. Chad called Peter a failure and a loser. When Chad told Peter he had only united the siblings to turn against Peter, Kristen refused. “I’ll never turn against you, Peter. You are my one true brother,” Kristen said. Kristen approached Peter.
Kristen noted that everything Peter had said about the DiMera family and EJ in particular was accurate. “You are not my brother. None of you are,” Kristen yelled at EJ and the rest. Peter shuffled Kristen behind him. “I’m gonna save you and only you,” Peter said. Kristen thanked Peter.
“As angry as we have a right to be, they don’t deserve to die,” Kristen said. “Don’t go soft on me now, Kristen,” Peter grumbled. Peter noted that he had the antidote outside the crypt for Kristen. “I’m going to open this, and I’m going to wipe every single one of you DiMeras off the face of this Earth,” Peter said. While Peter advanced with the vial, someone watched the family in the crypt via a camera feed. Kristen knocked Peter out before he could open the vial.
