On Days of our Lives today, Monday, December 8, 2025, Abe and Jada take on a new case with personal stakes, trivia night hits a snag for Philip and Gabi, and EJ shares a close moment with Cat.
What Happened on Days of our Lives

At Johnny and Chanel's place, Paulina tried to calm a fussy Trey, whom she was babysitting. Meanwhile, Abe called Theo and invited his son over for family time. When Paulina started the vacuum as a means to distract the baby, Abe seemingly lost his connection with Theo. He assumed his son had hung up, but grew slightly worried after telling Paulina about the call.
At the Brady Pub, Jada arrived for trivia night and spotted Gabi. The two women exchanged a warm greeting and got caught up. Philip soon joined the festivities and lightly bantered with Gabi and Jada about the upcoming contest. Jada wondered why she had not passed Theo -- her date -- on her way inside. Gabi had informed her that Theo had stepped outside briefly to take a call.
Jada gained unwanted clarity after she received a call that Chad was missing. Alarmed, she went back outside and saw Theo’s phone lying on the ground…with its owner nowhere in sight. Jada immediately made a call to Abe and told him about her discovery.
Later, Jada met with Abe at the police station and updated him about the steps that had been taken to track down Chad and Theo. Abe begged the commissioner to let him help on the case. When Jada started talking about possible suspects and mentioned EJ, Abe remembered his deal with EJ to get Theo away from DiMera. Jada sent Abe home with a pledge to keep him apprised of any developments. She later called Rafe, who told her the FBI was taking the lead on the case.
Back at Johnny and Chanel's place, Paulina contacted Rafe and asked for help with Theo’s disappearance. She shared Abe’s concern for her stepson’s whereabouts. When a frightened Abe returned home, Paulina could only comfort him with an embrace.
Back at the Brady Pub, Gabi and Philip discussed the unsettling developments with Chad and Theo. They decided to go back to his place since they were no longer in the mood for trivia night. After they got there, Philip seemingly grew jealous when Gabi expressed her concern for Theo. Gabi stressed that his disappearance rattled her because she’d just seen him beforehand. She deemed Theo a genuinely good guy who was a good boss, although a temporary one for her.
Philip asked how Gabi felt about Tony’s disappearance. She recalled the older DiMera stabbing her in the back and admitted she didn’t care for the man. Philip shared the sentiment.
At the DiMera mansion, Cat watched EJ slump over on the couch. She said to herself that she needed to find out if EJ had anything to do with Chad’s disappearance. With that goal in mind, she opened the entrance to the secret tunnels and made her way inside and down to the wine cellar. In the cellar, Cat observed a man’s clothing lying on a crumpled bed. She took pictures of the odd sight.
Cat returned upstairs to EJ. She tried to search his pockets, and he muttered, “What are you doing?” Once EJ was fully awake, he was confused about what had happened. Cat claimed he had fallen asleep while she had gone to the bathroom and that she had been trying to rouse him. The Days of our Lives bad boy profusely apologized for being such a bad host.
Cat attributed EJ's apparent impromptu nap to the recent family upheaval and the exhaustion it had caused. EJ mused on his siblings’ strange vanishings and began to ponder if there might not be a connection. The family had no shortage of enemies, after all. Cat subtly wondered why EJ had not been taken if that were the case, since he had ruffled the most feathers. EJ smirked in acknowledgment and said the events could just be a “coincidence.”
A phone call quickly changed EJ's perspective, though. When EJ ended the call, he suggested Cat should leave. His nephew had gone missing, and he could be next. He didn’t want to put Cat in danger.
Cat refused to go. If EJ was being targeted, her presence might keep him safe. EJ’s voice softened as he marveled that he was typically the DiMera people wished gone. He gazed at his guest and then leaned in for a kiss.
In the DiMera crypt, an impatient Chad asked what his siblings had done to get free. He suggested they gather around the door to ambush their captor, but Kristen scoffed at the idea. As they questioned EJ’s potential involvement, the door suddenly cracked open. When the siblings turned, they were startled by a gunshot.
Someone else had been tossed inside, and Chad went to check on the fallen person. It was Theo, who was unconscious but otherwise fine -- to the siblings’ relief. After Theo regained consciousness, he absorbed his surroundings and the presence of his missing relatives.
Gathering himself, Theo explained that, like the rest of his captive relatives, he had felt a sudden sharp pain in his neck and had then faded to black. Kristen believed Theo’s presence disproved the idea that only Stefano’s children were being targeted. She worried about the welfare of Rachel and of Chad’s kids.
Theo thought the kids were safe because the mystery captor seemed to be targeting direct heirs to Stefano’s company and his empire. Tony regretted getting Theo involved in the family business if the choice had indeed led to Theo’s captivity. The topic of their captor’s identity resurfaced, and Kristen again pointed the finger at EJ. Chad refuted the idea because EJ had been there for him and would not have sabotaged the custody hearing. Chad didn’t believe in his "gut" that EJ was responsible.
Kristen reminded Chad of EJ’s ruthlessness. In the end, he always looked out for himself. Theo admitted that EJ might want back his position as head of the company. Chad found a bright side if EJ was involved: at least their brother wouldn’t kill them…presumably.
