Days of our Lives Recap, February 16-20, 2026: Moving in, moving on, and saying goodbye

What happened on Days of our Lives, the week of February 16th through 20th, 2026, when Brady moved in, Xander moved on, EJ longed to learn about Cat, couples celebrated Valentine’s Day, Dimitri made a big escape with Leo, and Chad said goodbye to Salem.

EJ gave Susan her favorite banana peanut brittle for Valentine’s Day. Susan told EJ that he was not evil, even though he had Stefano’s blood in him. EJ told Rita about his connection to Cat in Italy, and he suggested that Cat was the reason that he had fallen out of love with Sami. Rita promised to deal with Dimitri before he could implicate EJ or Gwen in Dimitri’s kidnapping.

Chad gave Belle Valentine’s Day chocolates as an apology for not having called her about their date. Chad explained that he was headed out of town, and they decided to spend the afternoon together. EJ was upset to run into Belle and Chad in the square while they were on a date.

After Chad’s date, he said goodbye to Jack, Jennifer, and Julie as he prepared to head out of town with the kids. Chad also stopped by Abigail's grave with flowers for Valentine’s Day.

In Miami, Gabi told Philip all she had learned about Stefan. Philip comforted Gabi, and he pointed out that she was a DiMera widow if the divorce agreement had been forged. After a romantic evening at the beach, Gabi tended to Philip’s jellyfish wound. Philip confided in Gabi about Titan’s money troubles. Gabi almost confessed her betrayal, but she stopped herself.

Leo told Dimitri that he believed he was innocent, and he wanted to help him. Leo agreed to go to Alamainia with Dimitri, and he promised to figure out how to neutralize his ankle monitor.

Brady and Sarah shared a Valentine’s Day dinner at the pub. They agreed to remain friends but explore a romantic relationship as well. Brady and Sarah also agreed to keep their romantic relationship a secret from everyone.

Brady interrupted Kristen and Rachel’s sleepover to drop off the key to his new apartment. Brady told Rachel that Kristen was also moving in, and he stressed that he and Kristen would never get back together. Brady asked Kristen to sign the joint custody agreement before he would let her move in. Kristen was annoyed when she noticed the lipstick on Brady’s collar, but she signed the papers.

Gwen flirted with Xander over golf lessons, and she propositioned him. Xander admitted that he wanted to move on from Sarah. Lonely, Xander accompanied Gwen back to the DiMera mansion. After sex, Gwen asked Xander to leave because he loved someone else. Xander told Gwen that he wanted to spend time with Gwen because he liked her.

At EJ and Cat’s dinner, EJ asked Cat to read to him to help him recover his memories from the treatment center. Xander and Gwen interrupted Xander’s memory when they broke the bed upstairs. After EJ shook off his anger at Gwen and Xander, he told Cat that he was worried that Stefano’s Will would drive a wedge in the family.

Alex booked the honeymoon suite for Valentine’s Day with Stephanie, and they celebrated their elopement together. The newlyweds went out to dinner at the Bistro, and Stephanie told her parents about their wedding in Chicago. Outside the Bistro, Jeremy wrote a letter to Stephanie that promised to prove to her that he was not her stalker.

Theo met up with Jada for a second date. When Jada mentioned Gabi’s trip to Miami with Philip, Theo thought about kissing Gabi. Jada noted that Theo seemed distracted, and he promised to focus on her for the rest of the date. Theo and Jada shared a kiss at the end of the night.

After Sarah saw Gwen kissing Xander in the square, she told Brady about it. Sarah said she was not affected by Xander’s decision to move on. Sarah invited Brady to make out with her in the supply closet, but Leo interrupted with Dimitri before they could act on their plan.

Dimitri complained that his ankle monitor was bothering him. Sarah called corrections to have the monitor removed for treatment, and the officer handcuffed Dimitri to his wheelchair while he waited for Sarah to return. Dimitri lockpicked his handcuffs, and he escaped in one of Javi’s EMT uniforms when Leo pulled the fire alarm.

Once in Alamainia, Dimitri and Leo went to Vivian’s estate, and they decided to pay Vivian’s staff to secure information to exonerate Dimitri. When Dimitri and Leo arrived, Vivian refused to talk to them, so they talked to Ivan instead. Leo and Dimitri believed that Ivan had attempted to poison them, so they hurriedly left the estate.

After Xander’s agreement with Gwen to continue to have fun together, he took off his wedding ring. Over drinks, Gwen told Kristen that she would not fall for Xander again. Kristen told Gwen that she planned to win back Brady. When the women were caught up on one another’s romantic lives, Kristen questioned Gwen about Dimitri’s connection to the kidnappings. Kristen asked Gwen what she was plotting.

A viral video of Holly yelling at Maisy upset Holly, and she lashed out at Tate. Confused, Tate asked why Holly had changed her mind about moving past Sophia. Tate told Holly that her behavior was odd. At Bayview, Sophia worked to get the dosage increased for the medication she had given to Holly. Sophia texted Rachel to ask for a favor.

The ISA handwriting experts were unable to confirm if the signature on Gabi’s divorce papers belonged to Stefan. Gabi admitted that she was desperate to know if Stefan had wanted to divorce her or not. Cat used a device from the ISA to decode the keypad at the hospital lab.
