Days of our Lives Recap, February 24, 2026: Stephanie has a nightmare that Alex is shot 

What happened on Days of our Lives, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, when Chanel heard the baby’s heartbeat, and Stephanie had a horrific nightmare about Jeremy and Alex.

What happened on Days of our Lives

Chanel met with Sarah at the hospital for a checkup without Johnny, because he was stuck at work. Sarah suggested that Chanel record the baby’s heartbeat to play back for Johnny later. Chanel grinned as she heard her baby’s heartbeat for the first time.

After the exam, Chanel asked Sarah how she balanced her job with being a mother. Sarah admitted that she felt guilty about the time she missed out with Victoria, but that there were a lifetime of memories as a mother after your child grew up. Sarah shared pictures of Victoria with Chanel. With a sigh, Sarah noted that Victoria kept asking for Xander. “I just can’t let him be a part of her life right now,” Sarah said.

The good doctor

In the square, Alex ran into EJ, and he thanked him for the framed engagement photo he had sent him and Stephanie. “I didn’t send you any gift,” EJ said. EJ added that he had not known about the engagement. “Something is very wrong,” Alex said, and he rushed off.

At the police station, Jada put out an All-Points Bulletin to track down Jeremy. When Jada called Officer Hansen, who was assigned to Stephanie, the call went to voicemail. Steve called Stephanie to warn her, but she did not answer her phone. Outside the Brady Pub, a hoodie-clad Jeremy pulled a ringing phone out of his pocket. It was Stephanie’s phone. Jeremy ignored the call from Steve.

CSI: Salem

At the hospital, Kayla found an unconscious Officer Hansen in an exam room. Kayla roused the officer awake. “Where am I?” Officer Hansen said. “Where is my daughter?” Kayla asked. In a supply closet somewhere in Salem, a bound and gagged Stephanie stirred awake in a chair. Stephanie screamed through her gag.

Kayla rushed into her office at the same time as Alex and EJ, and she was horrified to see signs of a struggle. Kayla told Alex that Officer Hansen had been knocked out, and Stephanie had been grabbed. “Maybe she’s still in the hospital,” Alex said. As Kayla and Alex rushed out of the office, EJ called security and ordered a lockdown of the hospital.

Steve and Jada arrived at the hospital. Kayla told them what had happened. Jada ordered officers to search the hospital for Jeremy and Stephanie. EJ wanted to keep the matter out of the press, but Jada noted that she had already received press inquiries. While EJ went to retrieve CCTV footage from security, forensics examined Kayla’s office.

While Jada talked to JJ on the phone, a frustrated Kayla complained to Steve about how they had been unable to protect their daughter. “We had everything covered. There’s no way Jeremy could have known she was here,” Steve said.

After Jada’s call with JJ, she told Steve and Kayla that the kids in Jeremy’s class had confirmed that when police had pulled up outside of the school, Jeremy had excused himself to go to the bathroom. “And he never came back,” Jada said. Jada noted that Jeremy had left his car at the school. Steve left to follow leads. Alex returned, and he told Jada and Kayla about his theory that Jeremy had sent them the picture frame with a bug in it.

Alex wanted to retrieve the frame, but he refused to take a police escort because he wanted every officer to look for Stephanie. “I’ll go with him. That way you’ll only need to spare one officer,” EJ said. Jada told EJ that she needed access to all parts of the hospital, including the clinic and the lab there. “Is that a problem?” Kayla asked. “Not at all,” EJ said.

As Chanel exited her exam room, she ran into Paulina. Curious about the activity, Paulina asked EJ what he had done. EJ explained that someone had kidnapped Stephanie. Frustrated, Kayla lashed out at EJ for having cut the budget to the security department. “I am not the enemy here. And may I remind you, it was Salem’s finest who was overpowered by Jeremy, not our guy!” EJ countered. Alex yelled at everyone to stop fighting.

Jada went to Dr. Hansen’s exam room to ask him questions as Sarah treated him. Officer Hansen explained that a doctor in scrubs had passed him with a tray of test tubes. “He dropped one, I bent over to help him pick it up. That’s all I remember,” Hansen said. Hansen noted that the doctor was tall with light eyes. “In your opinion, is it possible that [Jeremy] is the man that attacked you?” Jada asked. “It definitely could have been him,” Hansen said. Hansen was eager to join the search, but Sarah insisted that he rest. Hansen refused to sit around because he felt responsible for Stephanie’s kidnapping. Jada allowed Hansen to work in the security office to help review CCTV footage.

After Hansen left, Sarah informed Jada that Hansen had been drugged. “I’m really sorry. I know that Jeremy is family,” Jada said. “I knew that he was a suspect. I just couldn’t imagine him doing anything like this,” Sarah admitted.

Sarah joined Kayla in another exam room to comfort her. A frustrated Kayla complained about how she had failed her daughter. “And now I am stuck here waiting for someone, anyone, to call me and tell me that she’s all right,” Kayla said. Sarah urged Kayla to keep faith that their prayers would be answered. Sarah and Kayla went to the chapel to pray. By the nurses’ station, Chanel gasped and clutched her belly. “Are you okay?” Paulina asked. Chanel said she was okay.

Police story

Steve went to Julie’s house, and he asked her if she had seen Jeremy. Julie noted that Jeremy was at school, teaching his last class before leaving town. “There’s a BOLO out for him. The police believe he kidnapped my daughter,” Steve said. Julie argued that Steve was mistaken. Steve showed Julie the footage of the figure in Jeremy’s costume attempting to stab Alex on Halloween. “Oh, god,” Julie whispered.

After a moment, Julie apologized to Steve. “The truth was right in front of me, and I just couldn’t see it. How can I help you?” Julie asked. Steve asked Julie to call him or the police if she saw or heard from Jeremy. Steve asked Julie if she had any ideas about where Stephanie could have been hidden away. Julie suggested that Steve should check the Horton Cabin on Smith Island.

Julie called Mike, and he confirmed he had not heard from his son. As Steve turned to leave, Julie promised to call him if she learned anything. “I know this can’t be easy for you,” Steve said. “It’s nothing compared to what you are going through. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry I defended him for so long,” Julie said. Steve blamed himself.

How to Get Away With Murder

In the storage closet, Stephanie’s captor walked into the room and removed his mask. It was Jeremy. “I’m sorry, Steph. I was hoping winning you back would have been easier on all of us, but you just had to do things the hard way,” Jeremy said. Stephanie glared. “You say you want nothing to do with me, but I know that’s not true. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have written about me the way that you did in your book,” Jeremy said. Jeremy told Stephanie that he had returned to town for her. Jeremy removed Stephanie’s gag.

”You don’t have to do this,” Stephanie pleaded. “There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you. I love you, Stephanie. And I know you love me,” Jeremy said. Stephanie narrowed her eyes. “I don’t. There’s no way I could ever love you again. Not after what you’ve done,” Stephanie hissed. Jeremy laughed. Jeremy told Stephanie that she would “come around once Alex was out of the picture.” Stephanie begged Jeremy not to hurt Alex. Jeremy leaned in close. ”I’ll make sure he doesn’t suffer,” Jeremy whispered. Stephanie cried out as Jeremy left the room.

Steve returned to the hospital, and he updated Jada on what he had learned. Jada agreed to send JJ out to Smith Island to look for Jeremy. Forensics messaged Jada to confirm that there were no prints in Kayla’s office. Kayla and Sarah walked up, and they asked for news. Steve said there was none. “We got to keep the faith,” Kayla said. Steve vowed to turn the town upside down until he found their daughter.

Outside the Brady Pub, Alex suggested they use the service entrance to his apartment. As the two men walked away with the police officer, a hoodie-clad Jeremy stepped out of the shadows. When EJ and Alex arrived at Alex’s apartment, the officer put the picture frame in an evidence bag. EJ looked at the frame, and he pointed out the bug.

”No wonder our plan fell apart,” Alex muttered. Alex leaned close to the bug. “You lay one finger on Stephanie’s head, and I swear to God, I will kill you with my bare hands,” Alex said. Alex stormed out of the apartment. EJ and the officer rushed after him.

In the storage room, Stephanie struggled against her restraints and screamed. Alex opened the door. “I am so sorry,” Alex said. Jeremy shoved Alex into the room at gunpoint. Jeremy grinned as he noted that the reunion would be short-lived. “If you hurt Alex, I will never forgive you. But if you spare him, if you let him go, I will go with you,” Stephanie promised. Alex protested, but Jeremy shoved the gun into Alex’s side to quiet him.

”As long as Alex is around, your heart will always belong to him. Can’t have that,” Jeremy said. Jeremy stepped back and took his aim. “I love you,” Alex said. The gun fired, and Alex dropped to his knees. Stephanie screamed, then woke up from her nightmare. Stephanie was still bound and gagged in her chair. Stephanie started to sob.
