Here is your Days of our Lives recap for Friday, February 27, 2026, when Leo debated whether to leave Alamainia, Marlena comforted Kayla, Brady and Alex found a lead, and Stephanie learned the horrifying truth about her captor.
What happened on Days of our Lives

In Alamainia, Leo tossed and turned in the bed. Leo dreamed about when Dimitri had said that if they could not prove his innocence, Leo would be stuck with him in Alamainia forever. An apparently sleepwalking Dimitri climbed into the bed and wrapped himself around Leo. Leo attempted to push Dimitri away.
“I’ll never let anyone hurt you,” Dimitri mumbled in his sleep. Leo held Dimitri’s nose until he startled awake. “You’re okay? Thank god you’re okay,” Dimitri said. Dimitri told Leo that he had been having a nightmare about Vivian attempting to drain all of Leo’s blood. Dimitri lay back down next to Leo, and he put his arm around him.
“Dimitri, none of that explains what you’re doing in my bed,” Leo said. Dimitri glanced over at the floor, and he apologized. “This was not intentional. It was part of the dream,” Dimitri said. Leo thanked Dimitri for saving him and asked Dimitri to return to his own bed. Dimitri crawled back to the floor.
When Leo was unable to go back to sleep, he picked up his phone to check in on the news from Salem. “I have to get back to Salem. Right away,” Leo said as he climbed out of bed. Leo told Dimitri about Stephanie’s kidnapping, and he lamented that he was not helping with the search. Dimitri urged Leo to write about the story from Alamainia instead.
“Stephanie is my friend. I need to be there for her,” Leo said. When Dimitri noted that he was Leo’s friend too, Leo countered that Dimitri was a trained spy who had already told Leo that he was not qualified to help him go up against Vivian. “I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you!” Dimitri argued. Dimitri noted that he could not leave if he did not prove his innocence. He asked Leo if he wanted him to be trapped in Alamainia forever. Leo was silent.
With a sigh, Dimitri said he would arrange for the family jet to fly Leo home. Leo noted that if he returned home, he would likely be arrested for aiding and abetting. Dimitri offered to tell Rafe that he had forced Leo to go with him. Leo admitted that he could not get Dimitri out of his mind even if they were on separate continents. Dimitri grinned.
“You know, I care much more about your safety than my own,” Dimitri said. Dimitri argued that Leo would be safer at home. “I believe in your innocence. I’m the only one who does. I don’t want to leave you here to face this on your own,” Leo said. Dimitri assured Leo that he would be fine, but Leo insisted. “They’re gonna find [Stephanie] and they’re going to bring her home. If I leave you here, who is going to bring you home?” Leo asked.

At the hospital, Marlena urged Kayla to go home, but Marlena offered to stay with her instead. Kayla refused to leave the hospital. “I just have it in my head that if she’s gonna come back, it’s gonna be here,” Kayla said. Kayla added that if Stephanie was injured, she wanted to be the one to tend to her. Marlena promised to stay with Kayla until Stephanie came home. Marlena told Kayla that when John had disappeared, she had thought about what John would have wanted her to do.
“I’m sure that Stephanie would want you to stay strong as well,” Marlena said. Kayla worried aloud that Stephanie would not return home in one piece. Marlena reminded Kayla that Jeremy was obsessed with Stephanie, and she did not believe he would harm her. Marlena noted that Jeremy’s history did not show that he was violent.
“Are you saying that you don’t think that Jeremy is capable of kidnapping Stephanie?” Kayla asked. Marlena said no, but she believed that if Jeremy had kidnapped Stephanie, she did not think he would harm her.
“If he kidnapped her? Even with all the proof we have, you think he’s not capable of kidnapping Stephanie?” Kayla asked. Marlena explained that she had spoken to Jeremy on multiple occasions about his therapy and how it had changed his life. “So because of the things he’s told you, you think now that he’s a wonderful guy?” Kayla asked. “I do believe that he is deeply remorseful for hurting Stephanie and everybody,” Marlena said. Marlena added that her instinct was that Jeremy would not hurt Stephanie.
“No matter what your instincts are telling you, I am telling you that Jeremy Horton stalked my daughter. He kidnapped her. He has a history of fraud, violence, manipulation. And he may have sold this whole I’ve changed act to everybody, including you, but I am not buying it,” Kayla argued. Kayla walked away, then Marlena and Kayla apologized to one another.

In the square, Brady and Alex put up flyers announcing the reward that Philip had offered for information about Stephanie or Jeremy. Brady noted that he was glad Philip had made the gesture, considering the state of Titan’s finances. Frustrated, Alex said, “It really seems to me that it’s always about the bottom line for this family business. Even for me.” Alex admitted he wished he had never pushed Stephanie to publish her book. Alex told Brady that Stephanie had told him about her concerns about the pages in the book inspired by Jeremy, and he had failed to make sure that the pages had been pulled from the book.
“Thanks to my negligence, Jeremy rolls back into town thinking that Stephanie still has feelings for him,” Alex said. “Or maybe Jeremy just came back to town to be a teacher. And all of this would have happened anyway. Book or no book,” Brady countered. Alex told Brady about the sting operation and the elopement. “Yesterday was the best day of my life. Now today is the worst,” Alex said.
Brady reminded Alex that Jeremy still wanted to kill him. “But why would Jeremy run the risk of getting caught now that there is a manhunt on. Not to mention that the only reason he wanted to get rid of me was to get Stephanie,” Alex said. Brady noticed someone studying a flyer across the square. He asked the girl if she had seen Stephanie or Jeremy.

At the police station, Jada told Rafe that JJ’s search of the Horton cabin had been a bust. Jada checked the tip line. With a rueful chuckle, Steve noted that a number of the tips were plot points from Stephanie’s books. Jada spotted a tip from Susan that read, “Her teeth are chattering.” Jada suggested that Stephanie could be outdoors. Steve read through the rest of Susan’s tip, and it mentioned her prediction from Halloween that Stephanie would disappear, like in Stephanie’s book.
Brady and Alex marched into the police station, and they announced they had a lead. Alex explained that a woman in the square had claimed to have seen Jeremy outside the Brady pub at 4 pm. Jada noted that Stephanie had been kidnapped before that time.
“There is no way that [Jeremy] is going to let Stephanie out of his sight,” Alex said. “So then why was he out alone?” Steve countered. Jada reminded the men that they did not know for sure that Jeremy had taken Stephanie. Jada added that based on the messages from the stalker, she did not believe the person wanted to harm Stephanie.
“But if he can’t have her, this guy thinks that nobody else should either,” Alex argued. Brady suggested that maybe Jeremy had been alone in the square because he was not the kidnapper. Steve admitted that although it was possible, the majority of the evidence implicated Jeremy. Jada noted that Jeremy was likely still in Salem because he had no transportation.

In the storeroom, Stephanie struggled against her restraints, but the ropes just dug into her wrists. “Where am I? And why is it so cold in here?” Stephanie thought to herself. Stephanie continued to struggle against the ropes until she heard her parents' voices giving her advice. Stephanie thought about her wedding as she screamed and she thrashed against the chair in desperation.
When Stephanie’s left arm pulled free from the ropes, she pulled off her gag. The door to the room creaked open. Jeremy rushed over to Stephanie, claiming he was there to help her. “Just let me go, and I won’t tell anyone what you did,” Stephanie pleaded. “You’ve got it wrong. It wasn’t me. I did not put you here,” Jeremy said. Stephanie asked Jeremy how he had found her if he had not been the one to leave her there.
“I’ll explain later,” Jeremy said. Jeremy reached for the rope to untie it, but Stephanie shoved him away with her free hand. “Don’t come any closer!” Stephanie yelled. Jeremy pulled off the rope, but Stephanie refused to leave with him. Jeremy grabbed Stephanie by the shoulders, and he yelled into her face, “Listen to me! I’m trying to get you out of here, okay? I’m trying to save your life.” Jeremy said he did not know who the kidnapper was, but he worried that the man would return soon.
“If there’s any hope of getting you out of here alive, you need to come with me right now!” Jeremy said. Stephanie told Jeremy that she did not believe him. Jeremy offered to call 911. “I just want you to get out of here,” Jeremy said as he pulled out his phone. “Too late for that,” a man said as he walked into the room. “Oh my god. Owen Kent,” Stephanie said.
