Days Recap: Days of our Lives Recap, February 9, 2026: Dimitri is arrested

On Days of our Lives today, Monday, February 9, 2026, Jeremy and Alex nearly come to blows, Stephanie makes a major revision to her plan, and Gwen, Gabi, and Julie experience reversals of fortune.

At the Horton house, Julie complained about the continued police presence outside. Jeremy decided to take the officers on a road trip to the pub.

Later, at the Brady Pub, Jeremy was nursing a drink at the bar when Alex approached to make an order. After he spotted Jeremy, an irate Alex strode over to the other man and forcefully pushed him around. Jeremy shot up from his chair and ordered Alex to get his hands off him. He backed off when he realized Alex was trying to get him to take a swing while the police were outside. Jeremy warned Alex he’d take the risk if Alex touched him again.

Alex challenged Jeremy to make his move while Alex was standing in front of him, rather than Jeremy hiding behind a computer. Jeremy again insisted he hadn’t done anything. He picked up his glass and congratulated Alex and Stephanie on their engagement. He wouldn’t be around to witness the marriage, since he’d be leaving town. Alex got angry again, told Jeremy he wasn’t going anywhere or going near Stephanie, and grabbed him by the coat.

Jeremy didn’t take the bait, as he backed off again. He said neither Alex, nor anyone else, could stop him from leaving. Alex declared he’d lost his appetite and stormed out the door. Once alone, Jeremy pulled up the engagement photo of Stephanie and Alex and stared at it.

Stephanie wants to make the ruse real

At Alex and Stephanie’s apartment, Stephanie admired the photo Jada had taken of Alex and her that had been posted to the website. Jada, meanwhile, admired the handiwork of having promptly secured a real, valid marriage certificate to convince the stalker of the wedding’s legitimacy. Stephanie gave the certificate a second look and indicated to Jada that she had an idea for which she needed her friend’s assistance. Stephanie suggested Alex and she take the opportunity to elope for real.

Jada had reservations, but Stephanie insisted all she needed to have a happy wedding was Alex by her side. With her plan, the wedding would occur on Valentine’s Day, so she’d share an anniversary with her supercouple parents. She eventually persuaded Jada, who offered her help in setting up the plans and ensuring the couple’s safety. When Stephanie mentioned that Jada would have the rest of her Valentine’s Day free to enjoy, Jada said she’d need a valentine first. Since Theo had not even called her following his release from the hospital, she didn’t have high hopes for the future of that relationship.

Alex arrived home and immediately filled Stephanie and Jada in on his contentious encounter with Jeremy. He worried he might have overplayed their hand when he’d lashed out at Jeremy about leaving town. Jada left to do damage control, while Stephanie comforted and reassured Alex.

Eli helps Rafe make the case and then makes Julie's day

At the Hernandez home, Rafe updated Eli on the latest developments in the kidnapping case. When he had gone back to question Vivian, she’d had the estate locked up. Dimitri’s fingerprints had been found all over the estate – and most consequentially on the tablet – during the forensic analysis, though. The agents questioned why Vivian would have allowed Dimitri to stay at her home and eventually came to the conclusion that she’d seen Dimitri as another means to gain access to the DiMera fortune after she’d lost Stefan.

Rafe made it a priority to track down Dimitri. He also disclosed that he wanted to procure Stefan’s handwriting sample from Gabi. If it could be proven that the divorce papers were forged, Gabi stood to inherit a sizeable chunk of the DiMera fortune as Stefan’s widow.

Later, Eli paid Julie a visit at the Horton house. Julie briefly asked about the case before letting her displeasure be known about Eli and Lani’s sporadic visits. She pleaded with her grandson for more time with his family. To Julie’s disappointment, Eli said he couldn’t visit as often anymore. He gently strung Julie along before revealing his family couldn’t visit Salem because they’d soon be calling Salem home again.

Julie was overjoyed by Eli’s news. He explained that the FBI had been so impressed by his work with Rafe that they had decided to make the men permanent partners. The whole family knew, and Julie’s great-grandkids were already asking if they could see their Grandma Julie every day. Julie only wished Doug could be there to share the wonderful development with her. Eli acknowledged, “Home is where the heart is, and Salem is our home.”

Leo and Dimitri hash it out

In Leo’s hotel room, Leo pensively thought back to his earlier heated encounter with Dimitri. His anxiety only intensified when he answered his door to find Dimitri waiting on the other end. Leo reluctantly let Dimitri inside and asked how long Dimitri had waited in the bed for him. Dimitri responded by asking how long Leo had wandered around town waiting for him to get out of the bed. Dimitri noted Leo’s tenseness, and Leo admitted being around Dimitri made his thoughts feel like a “clown car crash.”

Dimitri offered to tone his overtures down and suggested Leo and he go somewhere neutral to talk. Dimitri believed Leo owed him that much.

Gwen gets an offer she can't refuse

In Horton Town Square, Gabi joined Gwen at a table and brightened the other woman’s day considerably by pulling out a check for $50,000. As Gwen gawked at the check, Gabi reminded her that Gwen had paid Gabi the money for a dress that Gabi had never designed. Gabi had been able to secure the money before Dimitri had frozen Gwen’s funds, and she had promised to return the funds. Gwen was ecstatic but quickly sobered up after realizing that Gabi’s gift came with a “catch.” Gabi smiled and patted the check as she conceded there was always a “catch.”

Gabi told Gwen about the confirmation of Stefan’s death. Gwen was saddened since the news meant that the last reminder of Stefan’s twin Jake was also gone. Gabi elaborated on Rafe’s claims that Vivian had held Stefan captive. She didn’t think Vivian would ever tell her anything, so she wanted Gwen to use her connections with Vivian to extract a confession from the woman. Gwen wasn’t confident she could succeed, but Gabi’s pointed look at the check seemed to provide her motivation.

The rags to riches game takes new twists

After Gabi saw Dimitri and Leo enter the square, hand in hand, she angrily made her exit and returned home. Rafe was still there, and he asked Gabi if she had found a handwriting sample from Stefan yet. Gabi said she’d look through more of Stefan’s belongings. She also told Rafe about seeing Dimitri in the square. The disclosure compelled Rafe to make a beeline for the door…and the square.

Later, Gabi sorrowfully sorted through letters Stefan had written. She read one in which Stefan had promised to always come back to her because she was his “happily ever after.”

Back in Horton Town Square, Dimitri put on a show for Gwen as she stared down Leo and him. Dimitri grabbed Leo’s hand and held out his chair, making it appear as if the two were reconciled and on a date. Leo called him out on it, and Dimitri acknowledged that it was satisfying to needle his ex-wife. He soon grew serious, though, as he opened up about how hurtful it had been for Leo to rebuff him. Dimitri had spent his entire captivity thinking of Leo, his “beautiful smile,” his wit, and of all the adventures they would have together in the future.

Dimitri wondered how long Leo could resist the old Leo’s lingering love for him. “He screams it in my ear every day, and I hate myself for it,” Leo confessed. He admitted he had confided in his therapist about Dimitri. She had never told Leo what to do or how to feel, only to listen to his heart. Dimitri took Leo’s hand and asked, “What is your heart telling you?”

Before Leo could respond, Rafe approached the table. A frustrated Dimitri attempted to make Rafe leave. But while Leo watched in astonishment and Gwen watched in delight, Rafe announced he was placing Dimitri under arrest.
