What happened on Days of our Lives the week of January 12th through 16th, 2026, when Leo struggled with his choice, Gwen rejected an offer, Stephanie set a trap for the stalker, Rachel got caught, and Javi decided to leave Salem.

Liam brought his son, Gage, to the Horton Free Clinic for treatment. While Sarah treated Gage, she noticed a knife wound on Liam’s hand. Liam refused treatment for the wound.

Dimitri kissed Leo. When Leo rejected Dimitri, he made an emotional appeal. Leo argued that he had changed. Dimitri said he and Leo were the same people, and that Leo did not need to change. After Leo ran off, Dimitri ran into Javi in the square, and he told Javi about the kiss.

Ari told Holly that she hoped Javi’s marriage was over. Holly asked Ari to join a sorority with her, but Ari wanted to focus on her internship. Tate told Brady he was not sure he wanted to pursue the family business with an internship.

Xander fired Brady. Xander agreed with Maggie that he had acted rashly, and she sent him home for the day. Xander ran into Leo outside Marlena’s home, and they got drinks together at the pub. Xander and Leo agreed that they were not good enough for their spouses.

Sarah yelled at Xander for having fired Brady. Xander admitted he was a jerk, but he said he was not sorry for letting Brady leave a job he did not want and was not up to executing. Xander accused Sarah of having an affair with Brady to get back at him. Sarah argued that she could date whomever she wanted.

Maggie asked Sarah if she had been looking for excuses to see Xander. Sarah denied it. Maggie asked Sarah to be careful with Brady since they were both vulnerable. Sarah admitted that she was reluctant to date Brady because of Rachel.

Steve objected to Stephanie putting an engagement announcement in the paper because he worried it would upset the stalker. Stephanie argued that they should force the stalker to make a move. When Steve found threatening posts on an Anastasia Sands fan message board, Stephanie agreed to call the police. Alex insisted they set the trap anyway, and Steve reluctantly agreed.

Jada and Stephanie celebrated Stephanie’s engagement. When their talk turned to exes, Jada advised Stephanie to have solid evidence against Jeremy before they accused him of anything that could hurt his reputation. Stephanie told Jada about her trap for the stalker.

Cat questioned Gwen about Dimitri. Rafe met with Dimitri and questioned him about his connection to the DiMera kidnappings. Dimitri claimed to be a kidnapping victim with no connection to Peter Blake’s scheme. Cat and Rafe discussed their meetings, and they agreed that Vivian may have been working with both Peter and Dimitri. Cat captured part of the lab’s code on video when she recorded Mark. Rafe learned from Johnny about the video that Leo had of EJ with Gwen from the night of the gala.

Brady met with Dr. Gregory about Rachel’s progress at Bayview. Dr. Gregory advised Brady to make it clear to Rachel that she could not dictate who he dated. Dr. Gregory advised Brady to talk to her before he talked to Rachel about dating Sarah so that they could approach Rachel with a plan to create boundaries for her.

Sophia asked Rachel to take money from Brady’s wallet to cover the cost of a phone. Kristen convinced Sarah to release her from the hospital early so that she could see Rachel. Rachel told Kristen that she had lashed out at Sarah because she had seen Brady hug Sarah. Brady interrupted, and Rachel made an excuse for them to leave the room. Rachel took money from Brady’s wallet and gave it to Sophia.

The nurse caught Rachel impersonating Sophia at bed check, and Dr. Gregory called Brady down to the facility. Rachel confessed that Sophia had communicated through written notes, but she had not spoken. Dr. Gregory told Rachel that she could no longer spend time with Sophia.

Jeremy visited Rachel at Bayview, and he told her he hoped she would be back at school soon. Jeremy talked to Rachel about how therapy had helped him. Sophia managed to deliver a note to Rachel, and Rachel ate it after she read it. At the mansion, Kristen told Gwen that she intended to move out.

Chad listened to a drunken Leo talk about his choices. The next morning, Leo told Gwen he would drop his investigation if she would make Dimitri disappear again. Gwen argued that Leo wanted Javi to make the choice for him so that he could play the victim. Leo realized that Gwen only wished to see him suffer, and he told Gwen that he no longer had a soft spot for her.

Maggie and Julie discussed Jeremy’s anger about the stalker accusations. Maggie explained that she had seen flashes of Jeremy’s old temper and it had made her suspicious. Julie said she believed Jeremy was innocent.

Chanel told Theo about her high risk pregnancy. When Johnny arrived for a visit, Theo noticed the tension. Johnny and Chanel talked later, and he explained that he wanted the baby, he had just been concerned about Chanel’s health. After the visit, Theo had a romantic dream about Gabi.

Javi learned that his father needed to undergo quadruple bypass surgery. Gabi bought Javi a one-way ticket to Texas because he was not sure if he would return to Salem. When Javi went to say goodbye to Trey, Johnny suggested that they hold an impromptu christening for Trey before Javi’s flight so that he could still be Trey’s godfather.
