What happened on Days of our Lives on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, when Cat and Rafe chased leads, Gwen concocted a plan for Dimitri, and Rachel stole money at Sophia’s direction.
What happened on Days of our Lives

In the square, Cat and Gwen sipped drinks in the cafe. “My whole life has been rather boring and lonely since nobody in this godforsaken town will give me the time of day,” Gwen complained. Gwen noted that Cat was the exception. Cat asked about Dimitri. Gwen told Cat that Dimitri intended to divorce her. “It couldn’t have come as a complete surprise. You do hate him,” Cat said. Gwen explained that Dimitri planned to take all the money.
“I worked so hard to gain access to the family money. Not to mention, I kept it safe while he was gone,” Gwen said. Cat asked where Dimitri had been, and Gwen told her that Dimitri had claimed that he had been kidnapped and held in Alamania. “By whom?” Cat asked. Gwen chuckled, and she said that Dimitri accused her of being the kidnapper. Cat noted that it would be “pretty badass” if Gwen had been the kidnapper.
“I can’t take credit for that, because it would put my assets in litigation limbo,” Gwen said. “I guess the only way Dimitri could take those assets away is if he could prove you were guilty,” Cat countered. Gwen noted there was no proof, and she changed the subject to Cat’s love life. Cat admitted that she had been struggling with her breakup with Chad. Gwen asked about Cat’s dinner with EJ. “There was nothing romantic about it,” Cat said.
Rafe v Dimitri

Rafe visited Dimitri in the DiMera mansion. Dimitri said he was pleased that someone was investigating his kidnapping. “That’s not why I’m here,” Rafe said. Furious, Dimitri ranted about how he had been held against his will in Alamania. “Are you at all interested in the identity of my captor?” Dimitri asked. “You know who it was?” Rafe asked. Dimitri argued that it was obviously his wife.
“So [Gwen] held you captive until she was ready to bring you back to Salem and blow up Leo Stark’s wedding to my cousin?” Rafe asked. Dimitri countered that Gwen had done it to take his money. “I need you to do something about her,” Dimitri said. “From what you said, it sounds like the crime was committed outside of the US,” Rafe countered. Rafe said the FBI was a domestic organization and could not assist.
“Why the hell did you come see me?” Dimitri asked. Rafe told Dimitri that there had been a camera in the crypt that fed back to Alamania. “Are you insinuating that I was Peter’s accomplice?” Dimitri asked. Indignant, Dimitri reminded Rafe that he was a victim. “Do you have any evidence that you were being held captive?” Rafe asked. Dimitri offered vague information about his captivity.
“I will pass on your statement to the international authorities,” Rafe said. Gwen walked in, and Rafe told Dimitri he would return if he had more questions. After Rafe left, Dimtiri told Gwen about Rafe’s visit. “Rafe is an idiot!” Dimitri muttered. “Well, there’s one thing we agree on,” Gwen joked. Gwen suggested that Dimitri had spent his time away plotting with Peter.
“Your plan didn’t quite go as you hoped, did it?” Gwen asked. Gwen noted that Dimitri was not the sole heir. “I am the victim! Why won’t anyone believe me?” Dimitri yelled. Dimitri vowed to make Gwen pay for kidnapping him and stealing his money. After Dimitri stormed out, Gwen said, “Or maybe I will just prove that you did kidnap your family members, whether you did it or not.”
Cat met up with Rafe at his home, and they compared notes on their meetings with Gwen and Dimitri. Cat noted that the most likely accomplice to Peter was Vivian, but it was possible that Dimitri had been working with them. Rafe announced that he would go to Alamania and interview Vivian. Cat promised to question her brother while Rafe was away.
Doctor's orders

At the hospital, Kristen demanded that Sarah should have her discharged from the hospital. Sarah noted that Kristen was still fighting her infection. “As your doctor, I would like for you to stay. As a mother, I totally understand you wanting to get out of here and go see Rachel,” Sarah said. “You’ll discharge me then?” Kristen asked. Sarah explained that she would prescribe an oral antibiotic, but that Kristen would need to return to the hospital if any of Kristen’s symptoms worsened. Kristen agreed.
“Would you give Rachel my love when you see her?” Sarah said. “That is really kind of you to say, considering,” Kristen said. Sarah noted that Rachel had apologized, and she stressed that she had forgiven Rachel. “And I’m really glad that she’s getting the help she needs,” Sarah said.
After Sarah left Kristen’s room, she met with Liam Selejko and his son, Gage, in the free clinic. Sarah examined Gage, and she confirmed that he likely had strep throat. “I just want to make sure this isn’t going to cost anything,” Liam said. Sarah confirmed that services were free of charge. Once the test confirmed that Gage had strep, Sarah gave Liam a prescription and instructions. As Liam reached for the papers, she noticed a cut on his hand. Liam refused treatment.
The doctor is in

Brady met with Dr. Gregory at Bayview to discuss Rachel’s progress. “Is there anything I can do to support her recovery?” Brady asked. “You’re doing everything right, Mr. Black. You’re showing up for visits. You’re letting her know that she’s loved and supported. I wish all of my patients had the kind of family support that Rachel does,” Dr. Gregory said. Brady told the doctor that he had concerns about Rachel’s friendship with Sophia and why.
“Frankly, your daughter has been notably calmer and happier since she befriended Sophia,” Dr. Gregory said. Dr. Gregory explained that it helped patients open up when they had a friend in the facility. “I certainly want that for Rachel,” Brady said. Dr. Gregory noted that although Rachel had a community of people that supported her, inside Bayview, she was isolated from everyone.
“If Sophia helps her feel connected, I’d rather not discourage it,” Dr. Gregory said. Brady agreed, but he added that he was certain that Sophia would not be a positive influence. Dr. Gregory changed the subject to Rachel’s issues. “She’s desperate for her parents to be reunited,” Dr. Gregory said. Brady stressed that he had told Rachel repeatedly that he was not going to get back together with Kristen.
“You have to understand, Rachel is a lot like her mother,” Brady said. “Your number one job as Rachel’s father since you don’t want to reunite with her mother, is to disabuse her and Kristen of the notion that there is even the slightest chance of you getting back together,” Dr. Gregory advised. Dr. Gregory explained that Rachel seemed to believe that she “could only be safe and happy when her parents were together.” Dr. Gregory added that because Brady had ended his relationships based on Rachel’s actions, that had served as positive reinforcement that Rachel’s actions had been successful.
“Rachel needs to know that her behaviors won’t work, actions have consequences, and that your personal life is yours to decide. It won’t be easy by any means,” Dr. Gregory said. Brady admitted that it would be difficult because he was interested in dating Sarah. Dr. Gregory advised Brady that if he ended his relationship with Sarah, it would reinforce Rachel’s belief that she could control Brady’s dating life. Dr. Gregory urged Brady to demonstrate clear boundaries, and she offered to help him talk to Rachel when he was ready to announce that he was dating Sarah.
Partners in crime

Rachel was drawing pictures in her room when Sophia stopped by to ask for help with another escape. Sophia said she needed money to get a cell phone, and she asked Rachel to take it from Brady when he visited. Rachel was unsure. Sophia listed all the reasons a phone would make Rachel happier. “Wouldn’t your dad want that?” Sophia asked. “I guess. But the phone would be yours, not mine,” Rachel said. Sophia promised to share.
Kristen arrived, and Rachel rushed into her mother’s arms. Sophia pretended to be mute again. Rachel introduced Kristen to Sophia. Sophia left the room. Kristen assured Rachel that she did not need to speak to the judge to help Kristen, but Rachel insisted. “You’re home now, and I don’t ever want you to leave again,” Rachel said. Kristen noted that they needed to work on getting Rachel home.
Kristen asked about Rachel’s treatment, and Rachel noted that the doctors kept asking her questions about her feelings. “And what are you telling them?” Kristen asked. “That I didn’t really want to hurt anyone, especially not Sarah. She’s always been nice to me,” Rachel said. Kristen asked Rachel why she had lashed out at Sarah. “I’m not mad at you for what you did. I’m just trying to understand what you were thinking,” Kristen said. Rachel admitted that she had been unnerved when she had seen Brady hug Sarah, and then she had been upset when she had learned about Sarah having kidnapped her as a baby.
“I’m so sorry. I’m glad she’s okay now,” Rachel said. Rachel asked Kristen if she was angry at Sarah because she had hugged Brady. Before Kristen could respond, Brady walked into the room. Rachel asked her parents to look for her drawing in the dayroom while she washed up for dinner. After her parents left the room, Rachel took money out of the wallet in her father’s jacket.
When Brady and Kristen returned, they complimented Rachel on her snake drawing. Rachel hugged her parents goodbye, and they left. When Sophia arrived to walk with Rachel to dinner, Rachel showed her the money. “You are a superstar!” Sophia said. Rachel and Sophia danced around in celebration.
