What happened on Days of our Lives, the week of January 19th through 23rd, 2026, when Trey was christened, Javi said goodbye, Marlena struggled with her grief, Brady set boundaries, Jeremy was taken in for questioning, Chad made an offer to Thomas, and Theo and JJ reconciled their friendship.
What happened on Days of our Lives
Johnny and Chanel held an impromptu christening before Javi left for Texas. Leo and Javi attended the joyous event together. After the ceremony, Leo called Javi his family, but Javi admitted he was not sure that was the case anymore. When Leo learned that Javi planned to leave town for his father’s surgery, Leo asked for assurances that Javi would return.
Leo asked Javi for time to get over his residual feelings for Dimitri. Javi gave Leo his wedding ring, and he announced that he would tell Marlena not to file their marriage certificate with the court. Leo vowed to put the ring back on Javi’s finger someday. The two men said goodbye, and Javi left for Texas.
At Dr. Gregory’s suggestion, Holly visited Sophia at Bayview. When Dr. Gregory encouraged Sophia to express her emotions, Sophia attempted to slap Holly. Holly yelled at Sophia and refused to talk to her again. Dr. Gregory asked Sophia to write about her emotions. Sophia told Dr. Gregory that she hated Holly.
Ari told Gabi that she was thinking about rushing sororities with Holly. Rafe planned to travel to Alamania with Eli. Bo and Hope agreed to assist the ISA in Alamania as well.
Marlena thanked Sarah for fighting to determine the cause of Marlena’s ill health and saving her life. Sarah told Marlena that the staff missed her, and Marlena admitted that she might be interested in resuming her practice at the hospital. Marlena cautioned Sarah about her blossoming relationship with Brady. Marlena asked Cat if she wanted to work for her again, but Cat declined.
Brady told Kristen about Rachel’s scheme with Sophia at Bayview. Kristen wanted to remove Rachel from treatment, but Brady argued that Rachel needed structure and boundaries. When Brady asked Kristen to present a united front to Rachel about the end of their romantic relationship, Kristen told Brady that she no longer harbored feelings for him. Kristen told Brady that he was selfish for starting a relationship with Sarah while his daughter was still struggling.
Dimitri cut off Gwen financially, and she vowed to get her revenge. Gwen told Dimitri that Javi was Leo’s true love. Marlena, Maggie, and Julia met at the bookstore for the book club about the grief over the death of a spouse. Foster led the discussion. Marlena was reluctant to talk, and Julie made a bad joke about psychiatrists. Julie apologized, and Marlena accepted. Marlena explained that it was too soon for her to talk about her grief over John’s death.
Jack, Jennifer, and Chad met with the mediator without their lawyers. Chad gave an abbreviated version of his history with Cat. Chad argued that everyone deserved forgiveness, and he mentioned Jennifer's addiction to painkillers. Chad added that Jennifer was clean and safe now. Jack and Jen argued that Chad could not be trusted to keep away from Cat. Jack and Jennifer asked Chad to cut off Cat and give them two months in the summer with the kids, and they would drop the custody suit.
Jeremy talked to Thomas about the custody case. Thomas admitted that he wanted to stay with his father and that he was worried that the family would never be the same. When Jack and Jennifer told Thomas about the compromise, Thomas said he did not trust Chad to keep his word about Cat. Chad offered to include his promise not to date Cat in the legal written agreement. Thomas agreed, which helped him trust Chad more.
Jeremy decided not to renew his work contract, and he told Julie he was leaving Salem. Jada took Jeremy down to the police station, and she questioned him about the website he owned that hosted material from the stalker. Jeremy swore he did not own the site and that he had been set up. Jada was forced to release Jeremy, but she cautioned him not to leave town. Julie consulted with Belle, and Belle advised Jeremy to stay in town and prove his innocence.
Stephanie and Jada shopped for the wedding with plainclothes officers keeping an eye out. Stephanie said she regretted writing her book and putting Alex in danger. Steve shadowed Alex around because of the online threats. When Jeremy was taken into custody, Steve cautioned Stephanie and Alex not to let their guards down. Steve said that although Jeremy looked guilty, he may not be the stalker.
JJ interrupted Gabi and Theo’s chat at the hospital. After Gabi left for her date with Philip, Theo apologized for his reaction to JJ’s job, but JJ said Theo was right. JJ talked about his anti-bias training. Theo and JJ agreed to be friends again. JJ admitted to Theo that he wondered if his job had ruined his chances with Gabi. Theo said he did not think Gabi and Philip’s relationship would last, but he did not tell JJ about Gabi’s betrayal of Titan.

Philip asked Gabi if she would go back to Stefan if he were alive. Gabi was adamant that she had moved on before she had learned Stefan was dead. Gabi told Philip that he was the only man she wanted.
