On the Tuesday, July 14, 2026, episode of Days of our Lives, a double date does Verdi, Johnny and EJ fought about blame, Abe made a confession, and Chanel made a play for Johnny.
Fighting and Fessing up

In the DiMera living room, EJ instructed Rita to prepare the private island for Kristen to live on for the rest of her life. A groggy Lexie called out to EJ. Lexie asked what had happened, and EJ told her that she had passed out. When Lexie asked about Dr. Rolf, EJ admitted that Rolf had left town because the FBI was in pursuit.
Lexie argued that both Rolf and EJ should have known better than to use an experimental, untested drug on her. EJ admitted that he had been eager to save his sister’s life, and it had affected his judgment. Lexie said she refused to die quietly.
Theo asked Abe to meet him at DiMera and gave him Paulina’s wedding and engagement rings. With a sigh, Abe explained that he had told Paulina that their marriage license had been revoked. Theo told Abe that he had a strange feeling that Johnny was hiding something from him. Abe confessed about his deal with EJ to push Theo out of the company in favor of Johnny.
Theo told Abe that he was appalled that Abe had decided to work with someone he hated rather than trust his own son’s judgment. Abe insisted that he had wanted to protect Theo, but Theo argued that Abe had instead wanted to control him. Theo walked out.
Abe met up with Lexie at the pub and told her about his conversation with Theo. As Lexie assured Abe that Theo needed time to process his emotions, she swooned. Abe asked Lexie if she was okay. Lexie lied and said she was dehydrated. Lexie told Abe that she was concerned that Theo was not prepared to deal with a lot of what lay ahead. At Small Bar, Theo sipped a drink as he thought about his conversation with Lexie about Stefano.
A Night of Verdi

At the penthouse, Marlena told Belle that EJ had threatened Kristen, and that Kristen was terrified of what might happen. Foster canceled on Julie due to a cold, so Julie asked Marlena to be her date for the Verdi concert instead.
While Julie and Marlena sat in the cafe, they discussed the tainted well water at Smith Island. Julie said she was thankful that only Holly had been affected. Julie stared at Chad and Belle across the square, and she noted how happy she was to see them dating. Marlena agreed.
Marlena changed the subject to Foster, so Julie said she was worried that Foster had faked an illness to get out of their date. Julie explained that on their first date, she had gotten sad after thinking about Doug and Foster had likely picked up on her ambivalence.
After the concert ended, Julie asked Marlena if she wanted to join her on future outings. Marlena said yes, and that she believed Foster would want to go out with Julie again too. Marlena counseled Julie to move past her survivor’s guilt and to live life to the fullest, the way Doug had. Foster texted Julie and asked to take her to another concert in the future.
Across the square, Chad told Belle that he had enjoyed their evening together. As Chad and Belle kissed, a stranger handed Belle a program before he scurried off. “What’s that?” Chad asked as he pointed at a slip of paper poking out of the bottom of the program. At the DiMera mansion, EJ asked Rita where she had been. “Nothing you need to concern yourself with,” Rita said.
Beauty and the Blame

At Johnny and Chanel’s apartment, Chanel read up on arsenic while Johnny finished putting Trey to bed. Johnny stressed that the arsenic might not be the cause of her cancer, but Chanel did not want to dismiss the possibility. Paulina interrupted the debate when she stopped by. Chanel showed off one of her wigs, but Paulina reminded Chanel that her beauty was inside, and she did not need hair to be beautiful.
While Paulina went to check on her sleeping grandson, Chanel suggested that they ask Paulina to take Trey to the park so that they could spend time alone together. Johnny explained that he needed to run an errand and left. When Paulina returned, Chanel noticed that Paulina was no longer wearing her wedding ring. Paulina told Chanel that her marriage had been voided by Lexie’s return.
Paulina changed the subject to Chanel’s health. An emotional Chanel pleaded with Paulina not to treat her like she was dying. With a sigh, Chanel apologized for taking out her frustrations with Johnny out on her. Chanel explained that Johnny was physically distant from her. With a chuckle, Paulina told Chanel that Johnny was attracted to her, but likely was overwhelmed by everything. Chanel agreed, but she said she missed spending time alone with Johnny. Paulina urged Chanel to be more direct.
Johnny confronted EJ in the DiMera living room about the contamination he had caused on Smith Island. Johnny yelled that Chanel had had a miscarriage and cancer after drinking water from the contaminated well. EJ argued that there were carcinogens everywhere, and he blamed Paulina’s radiation contamination as a more likely culprit than the water. On hearing EJ redirect the blame, Johnny blew up at his father. Johnny argued that if nothing else, EJ’s actions had hurt Holly. Johnny yelled that he did not want to lie to everyone, including Theo.
When Johnny argued that EJ had made Theo complicit in a crime, EJ screamed that Johnny needed to stop being melodramatic. He told Johnny to stop complaining and do his job. “I did what I did to help Holly, not to protect DiMera. And if you want me to stay on as CEO, you will never ask me to do anything like that ever again. Do you hear me?” Johnny said calmly. EJ said yes.
When Johnny returned home, Chanel greeted him in a raincoat and a French accent. Johnny apologized for the lack of intimacy, and he explained that he had been preoccupied. Chanel said she was concerned that Johnny saw her as a patient instead of a wife. Johnny stressed that was attracted to Chanel, but he had not wanted to push her. Chanel reminded Johnny that they needed to stay connected. “I want you, I need you, in every way,” Chanel said. “You’re all I want,” Johnny said.
