On the Friday, July 31, 2026, Days of our Lives, Chad helped Leo, EJ felt conflicted about his plan, Kristen was kidnapped, and Lexie struggled to save her sister.
Leaving on a Jet Plane

In the square, Javi, Gus, and Trey met up with Paulina to hand off babysitting duties. Javi offered to take the baby for the night, but Paulina was eager to spend time with her grandson. Javi and Gus went to Small Bar, and Gus joked that he was relieved to be done babysitting. Javi admitted that he missed Trey already. When Gus asked Javi if he wanted to be a parent again, Javi said yes. Gus admitted that although he did not want kids, he could see having them with Javi.
Leo paced his hotel room as he unsuccessfully attempted to book a seat on a plane to Alamainia. Chad knocked on the door and yelled at Leo for having missed the pitch meeting and failing to answer Chad’s calls. Leo apologized for worrying Chad and explained that he had been attempting to book a flight to rescue Gwen from Dimitri in Alamainia. Chad ordered the DiMera jet to take Leo to Alamainia.
While Leo was waiting in the square for his ride to the airfield, he ran into Javi and Gus. Leo told Javi that Dimitri had taken Gwe and was going to Alamainia. Javi warned Leo that it was not safe for him to go after Dimitri alone. When Javi asked Leo not to go, Leo stressed that he owed Gwen, and he needed to help her. Javi wished Leo luck as he left to meet his driver. When Javi worried aloud about Leo, Gus argued that Leo knew the risks of his decision. Gus reminded Javi that Leo was not his concern.
Chad went over to the pub to pick up a bag he had left behind and ran into Rafe. Chad told Rafe about what had happened with Leo. Rafe admitted he was disappointed that EJ was not the culprit. With a shrug, Chad noted that although EJ was a terror, he was not responsible for every bad thing that happened in town. “Just most of them,” Rafe countered.
Gifts and Goodbyes

At the Carver apartment, Abe nibbled on cookies as Lexie fought her exhaustion. Theo returned from an errand that Abe had sent him on and handed a gift bag to Lexie. Inside was a necklace with the birthstones for Lexie, Abe, and Theo. “I will treasure it always,” Lexie whispered. Theo put the necklace on Lexie and noted that it matched her new bracelet. Lexie explained that Kristen had given it to her.
When Abe insisted on driving Lexie to the airport, she stressed that she preferred to say goodbye at home. An emotional Lexie hugged Theo tightly and told him that her love would always be with him. Theo reminded Lexie that she would be home soon.
When work called, Lexie insisted that Theo take the call because she was proud of his role as CEO. When Abe returned from the bedroom, Lexie explained that she was emotional because she missed him already. Abe promised Lexie that they would still have countless days together when she returned home. Lexie thanked Abe for welcoming her back into his life despite his new family. “Nothing can compare to the happiness I felt when I saw your face again,” Abe said.
Woman in a Box

Kristen cautiously approached EJ in the DiMera living room. EJ asked Kristen to join him for a drink to celebrate Rachel’s release from Bayview. When Kristen said that she had been visiting her mother, EJ said that he was surprised she had missed Rachel’s homecoming. Kristen pointedly said that she would have plenty of time to spend with Rachel at home. When EJ warned Kristen not to hurt Sydney during Kristen’s planned trip to Paris, Kristen reminded EJ of how he had harmed Rachel. After the siblings yelled for a minute, Kristen wondered aloud about how they had become so at odds with one another that they were willing to weaponize their children.
Kristen glanced over at Stefano’s portrait and mentioned that Stefano would be disappointed with them. EJ caressed Stefano’s ring, and he agreed. Kristen reminded EJ that he would not have been conceived if not for her and admitted that she wished EJ had been her and John’s child. Kristen noted that DNA only played a small part in their personalities, because she was a full DiMera despite not being blood related. “You may, in fact, be the most DiMera of us all,” EJ said. EJ and Kristen stared at one another, and they said goodbye. EJ appeared rattled after Kristen left, and he made a phone call. “Do it now,” EJ said.
As Kristen walked through the park, someone grabbed her from behind. Kristen activated the beacon on her bracelet. At the Carver apartment, Lexie’s phone beeped. Lexie told Abe that she loved him and left.
In the DiMera mansion, Rita informed EJ that Kristen had been captured according to the plan. When Rita asked EJ if he had second thoughts about the plan, EJ said no. EJ admitted that he felt sad about the situation, and he argued that his punishment was merciful. “It just never should have ended this way,” EJ said. Rita noted that it had been inevitable.
The Best Laid Plans...

Abe and Theo went to the square and saw Paulina with Trey. Theo wanted to say hello, but Abe opted to hang back. Theo sat down with Paulina and offered to help babysit. As Paulina thanked Theo for the offer, she noticed Abe approaching. Paulina talked to Theo about Chanel’s recovery, but she remained stand-offish with Abe.
When Paulina asked about Lexie, Theo explained that Lexie was on a flight to South Africa to see her mother. Paulina was surprised. Abe said he did not know why Lexie insisted on going alone, but he respected her wishes. With a shake of her head, Paulina said that if she had been in Lexie’s shoes, she would not have let anything keep her from Abe and Theo. Paulina appeared suspicious of Lexie’s motives, but she dropped the subject.
In a warehouse at the airfield, a henchman threw Kristen into an empty storage container. Lexie arrived after the henchman left, and she stumbled over to the locked storage container. Through the door, the sisters talked about how they had said goodbye to their families. “I just hope someday they can forgive me,” Lexie said.
Lexie worked to pick the lock on the door. Kristen lamented that she could not do more to help Lexie, but Lexie said she accepted her fate. Lexie said she was grateful to have the chance to see Abe and Theo one last time. While Lexie looked for a crowbar, she passed out.
