On Days of our Lives the week of June 29th through July 3rd, 2026, a mystery buyer bought out the Titan loan, a concussed Leo confirmed Gwen’s fear, Ari moved into the pub, Kate moved out, Chanel started chemo, Trey had a first birthday, Lexie faced her mortality, Tate helped Sarah identify the source of Holly’s illness, EJ asked Johnny for a favor, and Salem celebrated the Fourth of July.
Corporate Machinations

Philip and Xander were confused to learn the Titan loan had been sold to another company. The new lender accelerated the size and frequency of payments. EJ revealed himself to be the new lender. EJ explained that the buyout was an effort to avenge Johnny for what Xander had done to him. Xander, Philip, and Alex agreed that they needed to hide Gabi’s partnership in Titan so that EJ did not learn that DiMera money would be used to save the Kiriakis legacy.
After a chat with Gabi about EJ’s behavior, Kristen invited Sydney to meet her in Paris for fashion week. Kristen and Gwen bonded over their hatred of EJ. Gwen apologized for having jumped to conclusions about Kristen and Xander because of EJ. Gwen ran into Philip and told him about her conversation with Gabi. Gwen said she empathized with him because she had also been betrayed. Gwen helped Philip pick out a book to deal with his heartache. Gabi ran into Philip and saw his book. She also told him she was not over him.
After Charlotte played with slime at the pub, Leo slipped and fell on her toy. Sarah confirmed Leo had suffered another concussion. Sarah was adamant that Leo have a friend drive him home and keep him awake for a few hours. When Leo crept out of his room at the hospital, he saw Javi and Gus kissing in the hallway. Leo assured the two men that he was fine after his accident. Gus offered to take Leo home, but Leo lied and said that a friend was on the way to pick him up.
Javi told Gus that he did not regret his time with Leo because it had led him back to Gus. When Javi wanted to check on Leo, Gus said Leo had a male friend to take care of him. Gus noted that Javi seemed jealous. Javi assured Gus he only wanted him.
Concussions and Confusion

A concussed Leo wandered to the wrong floor of his hotel and accidentally saw Xander and Kristen kissing. Xander spotted Leo stumbling down the hall. Xander and Leo bonded over how their mothers had dismissed them as losers. When Leo nearly passed out, Xander helped Leo back to his hotel room. Gwen spotted them and took over Leo’s care. As Leo and Gwen bonded in his room, he confirmed that EJ had told the truth about Kristen and Xander’s affair.
Ari moved out of the house and into the pub. Ari told Roman about Gabi’s betrayal and Roman told her that he knew what that felt like. When Chad asked Roman about Kate, Roman admitted that although he loved his wife, he found it hard to forgive what she had done to his grandson. Kate was upset to learn that Roman had given her room to Ari. Roman asked Kate for a separation but would not commit to ending their marriage. Kate moved into the Kiriakis mansion, further upsetting Roman.
Alex and Joy took Kelsey to the 4th of July parade. Joy asked Alex to join them for fireworks, but Alex declined because he wanted to spend the evening with Stephanie for an anniversary. Kayla had a heated conversation with Joy about the situation with Stephanie.
Bad Health News

Lexie learned about Chanel’s cancer. Abe told Lexie what Paulina had done to save Lexie’s life and said he felt he owed her support during this time. Lexie gave Abe permission to support Chanel. Abe visited Chanel during her treatment, but Paulina avoided him. Later, Paulina told Abe that her family needed space from him.
Rolf told Lexie that she was getting worse and there was nothing he could do to save her. Lexie broke down when she received a certificate declaring that she was alive. Lexie told Abe that she no longer resented Paulina. Abe took off his wedding ring from Paulina, and Abe and Lexie made love for the first time since her return.
Holly continued to decline. Tate realized that the only thing that Holly had ingested that no one else had on the island was water from the tap. Brady raced out to the island to get a sample, but someone watched him from outside the window. Brady delivered the sample to Sarah for testing. Stephanie and Holly talked about their mutual PTSD paranoia. Amy Choi sent flowers to Holly at the hospital, upsetting her.
EJ told Johnny about the bad batch of Coriseal and that an employee had disposed of the material improperly. EJ warned Johnny that Holly might have been poisoned with arsenic from those drugs. EJ asked Johnny to lie about the drug while he worked to find a solution. Even though Johnny said no, he did not mention the conversation to anyone.
Chanel started chemotherapy. Although Chanel appeared to tolerate the treatment at first, she was ill by the end. Chanel felt much better by the Fourth of July, so Johnny and Chanel celebrated Trey’s first birthday in the square. Abe watched from afar as he enjoyed the Fourth of July holiday with Lexie.

After Theo spent time at the birthday party, he returned to his parents. An overly emotional Lexie told Theo that she missed how he had looked at her like she was his whole world. When Lexie ran into Chad, she asked him to continue to look after Theo for her.
EJ’s employee George confirmed the Smith Island well contained traces of arsenic and Coriseal. George also confirmed Brady had secured a water sample. George said that Holly would die if the hospital did not know that they needed to treat Holly for arsenic poisoning. EJ called Johnny and gave him instructions. Johnny snuck away from Trey’s birthday party to sneak into Sarah’s office to do EJ’s bidding.
Shawn asked Jada out on their first date. For the Fourth of July holiday, Shawn and Jada had dinner at the Bistro. When Chad and Belle also appeared at the Bistro for a date, the foursome had a friendly chat. Both Shawn and Belle admitted to their dates that they were happy their ex had moved on. Chad and Belle agreed to drop their investigation into Stefano’s chess set if it got too dangerous.
