In today’s Days of our Lives recap for June 8, 2026, chaos reigned supreme at Titan, Gabi was determined to move forward, Sarah sought aid from Brady, the DiMera sisters reunited, and EJ and Lexie worried about her well-being.
Detective Brady’s on the case on Days of our Lives

Outside the Brady Pub, Sarah greeted Brady with a kiss and a request: help her solve a "medical mystery." Brady listened intently as Sarah outlined Destiny’s case, from the moment the patient had arrived at the hospital to her collapse and subsequent death. Brady expressed how sorry he was that Sarah had to go through that experience, and he wondered why she hadn’t called him earlier. Sarah made up an excuse and left Xander’s name out of it.
Brady and Sarah made their way into the pub, said hello to Gabi and Ari, and grabbed a table to continue the discussion. Sarah stressed that Destiny had shown no signs of being on drugs, despite her apparent history. She also mentioned that she’d contacted Destiny’s parents to ask about the bottle of supposed pain pills Destiny had taken, but the bottle had been thrown out. Sarah still believed a potential connection could exist between Destiny’s sudden passing and her sister’s death a few years earlier.
Sarah identified Liam as the sister’s last known contact, and she explained she had a passing connection to the man because Sarah’s sister Melissa had once been stepmother to Liam’s brother, Charlie. Just as the couple was discussing Liam and how to reach him, Ari passed by and eavesdropped. She approached Brady and Sarah and asked they'd let her know if they found Liam. Ari claimed she had an item Liam had left behind at the bookstore. Brady, in turn, asked Ari to get in touch if she heard from Liam.
After Brady issued a warning against Liam, Ari played it off and went back to her table. Brady and Sarah enjoyed a lighter moment amidst the drama in which she teased him about being his first client. Brady corrected that, technically, Sarah wasn’t his client because he had no intention of asking for a payment. Leaning closer, Sarah suggested she offer another form of “payment.” Brady was game.
Don’t mix business and pleasure

Across the pub, Gabi told Ari she didn’t intend to quit Gabi Chic or to take up Tony on his offer to run DiMera, even if Philip had broken up with her. “Sometimes it’s just best to leave well enough alone,” Gabi mused. Kate overheard and decided to contribute her own thoughts: namely, that Gabi was a “backstabbing bitch” who had broken her son’s heart. Gabi didn’t deny the accusation, while Ari vacillated between being concerned that her grandmother and mother were fighting to wanting to sell tickets.
Gabi took accountability for her selfishness and ruthlessness and for choosing business over love. She regretted the actions she had taken that had betrayed the man she loved. The words seemed to strike a chord with Kate, who muttered something about making things right and then left. After Kate’s departure, Ari pressed Gabi on why she was so miserable when she had claimed independence and finding fulfilling work had been so important. Gabi admitted she had screwed up many times, the most recent example occurring when she had blamed Theo for something he hadn’t done; she still wondered who had sold her out to Philip.
Later, in Horton Town Square, Gabi encountered EJ, who happily let her know that his handwriting expert hadn’t found any evidence of forgery or fraud. He was willing to offer Gabi a settlement and spare her the embarrassment of losing in court. Unfazed, Gabi said she would match EJ’s likely paid-off “expert” with an FBI expert...plus Ivan’s sworn testimony. She had no intention of letting EJ steal Stefan’s inheritance. Just as Gabi finished her mic drop moment, something caught her – and EJ’s – attention in the distance: Kristen, who looked very cozy with Xander, slipped a card into his pocket.
All’s not fair in love and war

Before his meet-up with Kristen, Xander was busy trying to put out fires at the Titan offices. Number one on the agenda: Philip announced his intention to quit and blasted Xander for accepting Gabi’s money behind his back. The brothers battled back and forth about the decision. Philip didn’t want to sacrifice his dignity and pride. Xander wasn’t willing to sacrifice their father’s legacy. Besides, if Philip thought of it as DiMera money, it would be karma since the DiMeras had been responsible for their predicament.
Philip reminded Xander that the fault for their troubles traced back to Philip himself, which gave Xander the opening to argue that Philip should essentially suck it up and make things right. Too many people stood to lose if Philip made a rash decision without thinking it through: a trait both brothers shared. Kate arrived and immediately tag-teamed with Xander when she learned about Philip’s decision. She needled her son about all the people who had risked so much to keep Philip’s secrets and to clean up his messes. Kate used the lawsuit against Johnny and DiMera as a prime example.
Philip was surprised that Johnny’s accusations had been true. Kate turned her ire to Xander and confronted him about his impulsive decision to drop the lawsuit and admit their deception. Philip stepped outside briefly and gave both his mother and brother the opportunity to work things out…or chew each other out. Xander defended his decision as necessary to keep partial custody of his daughter. He confessed he had told Marlena and received an ultimatum in response: tell the truth or lose her as a therapist (therapy being a condition of the custody arrangement).
At the suggestion that he get another therapist, Xander affirmed he needed to make amends. Kate lashed out at Xander for choosing “homework” with the woman who had been her husband’s one who got away over what was best for business and best for Kate's marriage. Xander apologized for any blowback Kate might experience and urged her to come clean with Roman before it was too late.
After Kate stormed out, Philip returned and was told in no uncertain terms that Xander’s decision about taking the DiMera money was final. Without the lawsuit money, time was running out. Philip replied he’d clean out his desk. Xander compelled him to “table” the quitting talk for another day, and Philip seemed to begrudgingly acquiesce.
Meanwhile, Kate returned to the pub. Her earlier conversation with Roman about the situation with Abe and Lexie, and how Abe had been lucky enough to experience two great loves were weighing heavily on her mind. Kate rejoined Ari and essentially asked her intern granddaughter to become a corporate spy at DiMera.
Lexie’s Flowers for Algernon ending?

At the DiMera mansion, Lexie arrived to a warm greeting and a hug from Kristen, who sheepishly admitted she had believed Lexie to be an impostor at first. Lexie understood, given the notorious family history. Lexie also expressed her sympathies for what had happened with Peter and with Kristen going to prison for shooting EJ: a development that had especially surprised Lexie.
Kristen didn’t want to dwell on the past, but couldn’t resist taking verbal shots at EJ. “Everything that man touches eventually goes to hell,” Kristen observed…as Lexie’s hand trembled.
Down in the secret room, Dr. Rolf peered into a microscope with concern. EJ’s approach startled him, but it was EJ who was in for the biggest shock. Rolf confided that another lab rat had become disoriented and had begun showing signs of decline. While he couldn’t yet say for certain, the drug might be a root cause of the effects. EJ immediately demanded to know what the news meant for his sister.
The doctor is in

Rolf argued that all of Lexie’s vital signs were normal. Since the second rat hadn’t yet died, Rolf believed he could reverse the effects. He did want to evaluate Lexie. When he pointed out that EJ could still sell the drug even with the side effects, EJ passionately stated that it was about more than money. He had wanted to save his sister and fulfill his father’s dying wish.
EJ exited the tunnels and found Lexie and Kristen talking. Kristen wasn’t exactly warm and fuzzy as she abruptly departed, but EJ was focused on Lexie. He hopefully told her that she looked well, but Lexie responded, “Appearances can be deceiving.” EJ hid his alarm while Lexie detailed her earlier spell of dizziness and weakness. He brushed it off as a last remnant of the drug and suggested Lexie be examined by Rolf…with full discretion, due to Rolf’s fugitive status. Lexie agreed.
Later, down in Rolf’s makeshift lab, the doctor gave Lexie a grip strength test. She noted that she had performed poorly. Rolf, too, tried to assuage Lexie’s concerns. She implored him to be honest with her, doctor to doctor. Could the drug cause slow cognitive decline and loss of functioning? Rolf admitted it was a possibility, but he wasn’t willing to give up on finding a treatment. If Lexie were willing, they would work together to find a way.
With tears in her eyes, Lexis vowed she would do anything. Rolf had given her the greatest gift possible, and she would not lose her new lease on life.
Coming up on Days of our Lives
The DiMera siblings have very different interactions with former lovers Xander and Gwen. While Kristen finds more common ground with her newest boy toy, EJ issues Gwen a warning worthy of Stefano himself.
The Hernandez clan, on the other hand, has a much healthier grasp on family bonds. Javi can count on Gabi when he asks her a favor. Unfortunately, Joy’s not having much of a positive effect on Alex and Stephanie’s newlywed bliss.
