Days of our Lives Recap, March 23-27, 2026: Adoptions, Objections, and Confessions

Here is what happened on Days of our Lives, the week of March 23rd through 27th, 2026, when Leo made accusations against Gwen, Jeremy bonded with Stephanie while Alex struggled to comfort her, JJ resigned, Paulina helped EJ, Philip proclaimed his love, Tate located the source of Holly's mood swings, Johnny and Chanel adopted Trey, and Rachel was ordered to return to Bayview.

What happened on Days of our Lives

Gabi met Liam when she stopped by Ari’s dorm room. Liam and Ari lied about Liam's connection to Ari. EJ threatened Liam in Ari’s dorm room. EJ implied that he had killed Vivian, the woman who had put a hit on Liam. Liam promised to keep quiet. When Ari returned, Liam kissed her and left.

Julie's support

Jeremy was released from the hospital. Julie admitted she had briefly believed that he had been guilty, but he said he understood why. Jeremy visited Stephanie at the hospital, and she apologized for not believing he had changed. Alex overheard Stephanie tell Jeremy that she could not have gotten through her trauma or its aftermath without him.

Without this ring

Alex retrieved Stephanie’s ring from the police, but she was hesitant to put it back on. Stephanie explained that the memory of Owen ripping her ring off triggered a panic attack. EJ talked to Stephanie about her kidnapping. Stephanie did not believe that Rolf had not told EJ that he had found her in the lab.

Jada ordered a search warrant for the tunnels, and EJ demanded that Paulina intervene because Lexie was hidden there. Paulina squashed the search warrant. Sarah argued with EJ about his lab, but he refused to talk about his research study. Theo told EJ that Johnny had turned down his job offer for DiMera.

Leo recovered from his concussion in Salem University Hospital. Marlena talked to him about Dimitri and Javi. Marlena told Leo he would find love again if he lost them both. Gwen visited Leo, and he accused her of having kidnapped Dimitri. Leo said he did not want to believe that Gwen had attempted to kill him, but he knew she was involved with Vivian. Leo told Gwen that he would find out the story behind the lab, and he warned her not to go down with EJ.

Cat told Rafe that Mark had not known that Stephanie and Jeremy had been in the storeroom. Cat also told Rafe about her kiss with EJ, and that she believed she had not lied about the kiss in Italy. Rafe warned Cat to be cautious in case EJ learned she had helped Kayla get into the lab. Cat asked EJ about the pod, but he would not give details.

Xander gets advice from Maggie

Maggie cautioned Xander to watch his tone when he was around Sarah or Victoria. When Xander admitted that he would always be a little jealous because he loved Sarah, Maggie reminded him that he was dating someone new. Maggie told Xander that she wanted her daughter to be happy and that it was possible that Xander could not be that person for Sarah.

Philip struggled with his conflicting feelings about Vivian after he learned of her death. Gabi comforted Philip. When Philip accidentally proclaimed his love for Gabi, he was eager to take it back so that he did not torpedo their relationship. Gabi told Philip that she loved him, too.

DAYS in court

Rachel told Brady that she was okay with his romantic relationship with Sarah. Rachel explained that she had learned in therapy that she could not control who Brady dated. When Brady stressed that he and Sarah wanted to take it slow because Rachel was a priority for them both, Rachel told Brady that she forgave Sarah for having kidnapped her as a baby. Brady later told Sarah that Rachel had approved of their dating.

Tate lost his temper with Holly in bed when he was unable to perform. When Holly argued that Tate was experiencing the same, difficult-to-control rage, Tate realized that the skin supplements were the source of the issue. Sarah called to tell Holly that the lab results had confirmed that there was anti-psychotic medication in her blood. Tate and Holly told Brady and Sarah that they believed that Rachel had switched out the vitamins since she had given a bottle to Tate.

Marlena's honesty

Marlena and Brady decided not to talk to Rachel about the anti-psychotic meds they believe she had given to Holly until after the hearing. Rachel told the truth to the judge about the shooting. Belle argued for leniency. EJ corroborated Rachel’s testimony. Marlena was brought into the hearing to testify, and she admitted that she had disagreed with the decision to release Rachel from Bayview. The judge ordered Rachel to return to Bayview to finish treatment. Kristen vowed to keep Marlena away from Rachel because of her betrayal. Brady and Kristen broke the news to a devastated Rachel.

Shawn was reluctant to let Belle move in with him, so Jada offered to help him instead. Shawn agreed to move in with Jada temporarily JJ told Theo that he had frozen instead of shooting at Shawn’s assailant. Theo told JJ not to give up on his job, but JJ confessed to Jada about his apprehension during the shooting. JJ resigned. Jada was furious that Shawn had covered for JJ.

Johnny and Chanel’s adoption proceedings were interrupted by Sophia. Sophia testified about how devastated she had been after Johnny and Chanel had originally backed out of the adoption, and that she was concerned Johnny would change his mind again. With Johnny and Chanel’s blessing, EJ acted on their behalf to argue that Sophia’s objections were based on revenge, not concern for her son. The judge sympathized with Sophia, but she noted that Johnny and Chanel had proven that they could provide a loving home for Trey. Judge Dabney formalized the adoption.
