"I don’t know what just happened to me. I didn’t mean to yell,” Tate said. Holly told Tate that is how she had felt recently. After a moment, Tate gasped. Tate told Holly that he believed the skin supplements were to blame for their mood swings.

While Ari retrieved breakfast, Liam called EJ and left him a voicemail to warn him that Klaus had been in Salem. Liam then called home to talk to his son, Gage. During the call, Gabi knocked and she demanded that Ari open up. Liam answered the door.

“Who the hell are you? Where’s my daughter?” Gabi asked. Liam explained that Ari was getting breakfast. “I am Gage, Ari’s classmate,” Liam lied. Ari noted that Liam looked too old. “That’s because he’s a non-traditional student,” Ari said as she returned with breakfast. Ari explained that they were in a study group together. After a moment, Gabi apologized for having interrupted the study session, and she handed Ari some new dresses.

“We really do need to get back to studying,” Ari said. “You are in college now, mija, so I wouldn’t be upset or surprised if you put the sock on the door for its intended reason,” Gabi said. After Gabi left, Liam explained that he had given Gabi a fake name in case she had heard about the shooting. After breakfast, Ari talked about Bonnie’s book and how it had felt familiar to another. Ari asked Liam for his opinion.

Liam reluctantly took the scripts, and Ari watched him as he ran his finger across the page as he read it. “They're like the same, right?” Ari asked. Liam noted that all romance novels were kind of similar. Ari reluctantly agreed. “Maybe I should just go ahead and tell my uncle, just in case,” Ari said. Ari explained that her uncle Johnny was the interim CEO at DiMera. Liam said that he was surprised that so many people in town were related to one another. Ari asked about Liam’s family. Liam did not mention his son, Gage.

At Brady’s apartment, Rachel told her father that she had a card for Victoria. Brady asked Rachel why she assumed he would be at the hospital. “Because Sarah will be there. Because you really like her,” Rachel said with a grin. Brady said he cared about his friend.

“I know that you are more than friends now, and I’m okay with that,” Rachel said. Brady said he was glad to hear about Rachel’s change of heart. Brady added that he and Sarah wanted to take it slow, in part because Rachel was a priority for both of them. “You don’t have to worry about me anymore, because I really like Sarah,” Rachel said. Brady admitted he was relieved.

“I learned in therapy that who you choose to be with, that’s up to you, not me,” Rachel said. “That is a very mature outlook. I’m so proud of you right now,” Brady said. Rachel apologized for her past behavior. Concerned, Rachel asked Brady if she needed to talk about what she had done to Sarah in the court hearing. Brady stressed that the hearing was only going to be about EJ. “And if that does come up? Remember that Sarah loves you and she forgives you,” Brady said. Rachel said she forgave Sarah as well.

In Titan's CEO office, Xander informed Philip that he had secured a new contract for the company. Philip was distracted as he read the morning news on his tablet. “Did you hear about Vivian?” Philip asked. “What’s that old witch up to these days?” Xander asked. Philip told Xander that Vivian was dead. Xander apologized to Philip. With a shrug, Philip said that he had believed Vivian would live forever.

“That’s how I felt about Victor,” Xander said. “So did I,” Philp agreed. Xander offered to keep Philip company, but Philip waved him off. “Vivian did consider herself my mother, but she was mostly a thorn in my side,” Philip said. Philip reluctantly added that he had felt Vivian’s love for him, and that he had sometimes regretted pushing Vivian away. “She always did want the best for me. In her own screwed-up way,” Philip said. Philip discussed his complicated feelings for Vivian and how he had been fond of her against his better judgment.

“I have a pretty good idea of what you’re going through,” Xander said. With a brotherly pat on the shoulder, Xander encouraged Philip to take care of himself, and he walked out. As Philip stared at the photo of Vivian, Gabi walked in. Gabi said she had heard about Vivian, and she asked Philip if he was okay.

“I’m honestly surprised by how hard this is hitting me. I mean, Vivian mostly drove me crazy and or embarrassed me. But I also had a soft spot for her,” Philip said. Philip added that he was upset that they had been on bad terms at the end of her life. “I think that’s part of why Stefan’s death was so painful to me. So many things left unsaid,” Gabi said. Gabi added that she was not sure Vivian was to blame for her divorce. Gabi argued that even if Vivian had not taken Stefan away, they had had a volatile relationship that may not have lasted.

Pillow Talk

Gabi pointed out that after months of dating, she and Philip had not fought once. “Guess we must be doing something right,” Philip said. Philip thanked Gabi for comforting him, and he listed what he liked about Gabi. “Just a few of the reasons I love you,” Philip said. Philip stammered that he did not want to ruin things, so he asked Gabi to forget that he had confessed his love. “I love you too,” Gabi said.

Maggie visited Sarah in Victoria’s hospital room. “How are you, sweetheart?” Maggie asked. Sarah admitted she was tired, and she confirmed that she still planned to move ahead with her decision to give Xander partial custody of Victoria.

A mother's advice

“And I realized that that spark between us is never going away. I am resolved to not act on it again,” Sarah said. Maggie nodded. Sarah told Maggie that she believed she could move on with someone kind and dependable. “Could that be Brady, by any chance?” Maggie asked. Sarah explained that she and Brady had agreed to take things slowly.

“[Victor and I made it]. And so will you,” Maggie said. “With Brady or with Xander?” Sarah asked. Maggie chuckled, and she noted that it was for Sarah to decide. Sarah stressed that she was not ready to be with anyone. “You’re going to make it work with whomever you believe is worth having in your life and Victoria’s,” Maggie said. Brady walked in, followed by Xander. Brady gave Sarah the get-well card from Rachel. Xander unsubtly encouraged Brady to leave, so Maggie grabbed him by the arm and pulled him into the hallway.

Sarah asked Brady to thank Rachel for the card. Sarah’s phone beeped with test results, and she asked Brady for a moment alone to call a patient. After Brady left, Sarah called Holly and told her that the lab results showed there was anti-psychotic medication in Holly’s blood.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Holly told Tate when she got off the phone with Sarah. Holly informed Tate that the medications could cause mood swings, appetite changes, and sexual problems if the meds were not needed. Tate noted that Rachel took those meds and that they looked like the skin care vitamins.

By the nurses’ station, Maggie warned Xander to watch his tone around Sarah and Victoria. Xander promised to work on it. Maggie reminded Xander that he was divorced and dating Gwen. “So why would Brady spending time with [Sarah] bother you?” Maggie asked. Xander noted that he would always be in love with Sarah despite their incompatibility. Xander asked Maggie why she was so eager for Sarah to move on.

“I’m eager for my daughter to find happiness. And since she can’t seem to find it with you, of course, I want her to move on,” Maggie said. Maggie asked Xander if he had heard the news about Vivian. “Since she was the woman that locked me in the sarcophagus, I’m not shedding any tears over her very timely demise,” Maggie said cheerfully. Xander agreed that he was not upset either since she had been the cause of Titan’s bankruptcy. Xander assured Maggie that he had a plan for the loan payment.

Clothed Call

When Brady returned to Victoria’s room, he asked Sarah if everything was okay. Before Sarah could answer, Tate and Holly rushed into the room with the bottle of supplements. “We think the pills inside might have been switched out with a different medication,” Holly said. Tate explained that he had suffered the same symptoms when he had taken the pills. Tate told Brady and Sarah that Rachel had given him the bottle, and the pills inside were the same as Rachel’s prescription. “Plus, all of this started after I left my other skin supplements at Bayview,” Holly added. Confused, Brady asked why Rachel would switch the pills.
