Here is your Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, when Theo resumed his job, Kate and Xander plotted to ruin DiMera, Justin comforted Alex, Owen was delusional, and Stephanie and Jeremy heard EJ’s voice.
What happened on Days of our Lives

At the pub, Theo was finishing breakfast with Abe and Paulina when he announced that he needed to get to work to meet with Johnny. Theo thanked Abe for accepting his decision. After Theo left, Paulina asked Abe why he had changed his mind about supporting Theo’s decision.
“What choice do I have?” Abe said. Kate stopped by the table, and she noted that Roman was back out searching for Stephanie. Paulina confirmed that there were no updates from the police. “If love were enough to bring Stephanie home, then she would already be here with us,” Paulina said.
When Theo arrived at DiMera, he asked Johnny if he was sure he wanted to turn over control. “Yeah, you know I am,” Johnny said enthusiastically. Theo noticed Johnny’s silver cup, and Johnny explained that EJ had sent him a christening cup. “You guys patched things up?” Theo asked. Johnny said no. Johnny admitted that Chanel had refused the gift, but he had been unable to toss it or return it to EJ.
“And now I feel like I’m being disloyal to Chanel somehow,” Johnny said. “I feel the same way every time I tell my dad about coming to work here,” Theo said. Theo noted that no matter what Abe thought, he was proud that he was a DiMera. Johnny told Theo that Stefano would have been proud of Theo. “After all the stories we heard about him bringing people back to life, it’s hard to believe that no one has done the same for him,” Theo said.
After Theo reviewed Johnny’s report about the company, Johnny noted that the last item to review was the publication of Bonnie’s book. Johnny argued that their publishing division needed to expand to more lucrative genres. Theo asked Johnny if he wanted to stay on at DiMera. Johnny declined.

Alex woke up on the couch in his apartment, and he stared at his wedding ring. Justin visited to check on his son. Alex started to cry when he saw Justin, and Justin hugged him tightly. “I’m trying to be strong,” Alex stammered. “Being strong doesn’t mean you can’t also be in pain,” Justin countered. Alex blamed himself, and he said he wished Jeremy had taken him instead of Stephanie.
“Now here we are. Instead of sending out save the dates, I’m hanging missing posters,” Alex said. Justin told Alex that someone had identified Jeremy from the posters. Alex explained that it did not help because the woman had spotted Jeremy after the kidnapping. Justin argued that the eyewitness account supported the theory that Stephanie was somewhere in Salem. Alex worried aloud that Stephanie had not been with Jeremy because she was dead.
“Don’t even think it!” Justin stressed. Justin reminded Alex of all the organizations and people looking for Stephanie. “I know in my heart this is going to have a happy ending,” Justin said. Alex paled, and Justin asked what was wrong. Justin explained that he had had a dream about Adrienne, and she had told Alex that they would find Stephanie. “It was the exact same words you just used. How weird is that?” Alex said. “It’s your subconscious telling you to have faith,” Justin said.
With a sigh, Alex told his father that one of the worst things he had ever experienced was watching Justin’s devastation after Adrienne’s death. “Not every story gets a happy ending,” Alex said. Justin promised to help Alex resume the search once Alex rested.
In the DiMera living room, EJ talked to Chad on the phone about Stephanie’s kidnapping. EJ told Chad he would keep him updated. Gwen and Xander walked in. “No word on Stephanie?” Xander asked. EJ said no. Over breakfast, EJ teased Xander about Titan. EJ said he was glad to see that Titan had offered a reward, and that he planned to double it. After Xander left, EJ told Gwen that she could do better than Xander.

In the square, Xander met up with Kate to avoid running into Philip or Maggie. “Someone has to get dirty hands for the greater good,” Kate noted. Kate told Xander that Bonnie’s book was going into publication. “So we will soon be hitting DiMera with a monster lawsuit for plagiarism,” Kate said. Kate informed Xander that she had reviewed their planned lawsuit with outside counsel rather than Titan lawyers.
“I mean, it’s not like it’s exactly ethical to be entrapping your competition to stealing our IP, correct?” Kate said. Xander nodded in agreement. Kate added that Philip and Maggie would be suspicious if they had a Titan prepared lawsuit before Bonnie’s book had been published. Kate said she had prepared a list of comparisons between Stephanie's and Bonnie’s books for the lawyer to support the plagiarism claim. “It’s a genius plan, Kate. And we got lucky that no one at DiMera actually read Stephanie’s book,” Xander said.
Xander told Kate that he had reviewed the numbers, and they would not be able to make their first loan payment. “I do not understand why you let Maggie put the entire Kiriakis estate up for collateral,” Kate muttered. “Have you ever tried to talk Maggie out of something?” Xander countered. Kate stressed that they needed to protect Victor’s legacy and the family. “Titan is also Victoria’s future, and I’m going to make sure it stays afloat. By any means necessary,” Xander said.
Xander asked about Johnny, and Kate admitted it would be hard to see Johnny suffer under their plan. Kate noted that Johnny and Theo would survive the fallout, but Titan could not if they did not enact their plan. “As far as Johnny and Theo are concerned, I never read the book. I’m just giving them my blessings to option it,” Kate said.

In the storage room under the hospital, a handcuffed Stephanie and Jeremy stirred awake. “I’m so cold. Thirsty,” Stephanie said. Jeremy agreed. Stephanie apologized again to Jeremy, but he reminded her that only Owen was to blame. Stephanie gritted her teeth, and she said she refused to be a victim again. Jeremy noted there was nothing in the room that could help them. “There’s only one other option; we talk Owen into letting us go,” Stephanie said.
Down the hallway, Owen talked to the woman in the cryogenic pod. “How do I make her fall in love with me?” Owen said. Owen imagined that the woman in the cryo tube woke up and looked like Stephanie. “You are not supposed to be the one in the pod,” Owen stammered. The woman asked Owen how she could help him. Owen acknowledged that “Stephanie” was a figment of his imagination, but he asked her how to get rid of Jeremy.
“I think once Jeremy’s body is found, they’ll know he had nothing to do with the kidnapping. It will only be a matter of time before they come looking for me,” Owen said. “Stephanie” advised Owen to use the sleeping agent he had created from Rolf’s chemicals to kill Jeremy. “And leave no evidence of foul play behind,” Owen said with a grin. Owen looked over at the cryo tube.
“The person in this pod had a love story for the ages. Why can’t I convince you that you could have the same with me?” Owen asked. With a coy smile, “Stephanie” told Owen that if she had known that Owen still wanted her, she never would have gotten involved with Alex. Owen pulled Stephanie’s engagement ring out of his pocket. “You’ll put a much bigger one on my finger," Owen's image of Stephanie said. Owen dropped Stephanie’s ring into the trash can. Imaginary Stephanie disappeared.
Owen returned to the storeroom, and he asked Jeremy how he had found Stephanie. Jeremy admitted he had followed Owen from the square because he had recognized him from school. “I should have been more careful,” Owen said. Owen offered Stephanie and Jeremy food and water, but they refused it. Owen gagged his captives. “I’ll be back later tonight,” Owen said.

When Rolf arrived at the secret lab, Owen reported that there was no change in the patient. Rolf noted that EJ would be pleased to hear the news. “Perhaps it’s time for you to meet face to face,” Rolf said. Owen declined in favor of going home to sleep.
In the storeroom, Stephanie and Jeremy heard EJ and Gwen talking nearby. Stephanie and Jeremy screamed through their gags, but EJ and Gwen could not hear them. In the lab, Rolf told EJ and Gwen that the patient was almost ready to wake up. “We can safely open the pod doors, let her breathe in the air again,” Rolf said. Rolf opened the pod door, and EJ and Gwen stared inside.
“I didn’t understand the impact of what we’re doing here until this very moment,” Gwen said. Gwen asked Rolf if he was sure he could bring the woman back to life. Rolf smiled. “This is going to turn so many lives upside down,” Gwen said. “But in the most wonderful way possible,” EJ said.
Rolf asked EJ why he had let the police search the front part of the lab. EJ explained that he had been forced to allow the search because of Stephanie’s kidnapping. “We’re hiding some pretty earth-shattering things back here. But Stephanie Johnson isn’t one of them,” EJ said. Down the hallway, Stephanie and Jeremy sat handcuffed in the storeroom.
