On Days of our Lives for the week of May 4 to 8, 2026, Johnny recovered after his brush with death, Chanel waited to undergo a biopsy, the police dragged the river for Sophia’s body, Alex confirmed he was Kelsey’s father, Gabi fought with Ari, Amy vowed to get justice for her daughter, Roman suspected Kate was lying, and a surprising guest upended the reading of Stefano’s will.
Kristen puts on an act on Days of our Lives

Leo rushed to the hospital when he learned there was a fire at Trey’s apartment. Javi passed out at the hospital from the after effects of gas inhalation. When Javi was reluctant to be alone with Leo, Leo asked if it was because he was worried about his feelings for him. Javi told Leo that he did not want to be around him at all.
Kristen eavesdropped on EJ and Cat at Small Bar as she waited for him to hear about Johnny’s murder. Kristen pretended to be surprised by Johnny’s injury, and she went to the hospital to show fake emotion. EJ accused Kristen of plotting with Sophia to kill Johnny. EJ stayed overnight to keep an eye on Johnny’s recovery. Rafe was disappointed to hear that Cat had been out on a date with EJ.
Johnny told Chanel that Sophia had attempted to kill him. When Johnny talked about not seeing their kids grow up, Chanel reluctantly told Johnny that they needed to biopsy the lump in her breast. Johnny confided to Marlena about Chanel’s possible cancer diagnosis.
Bad news for Amy

Jada informed Amy that there was evidence that Sophia had jumped in the river. Holly, Ari, and Tate each blamed themselves for Sophia’s possible suicide. Amy claimed that Holly’s cyberbullying of Sophia had driven her to jump in the river, and she vowed to see her punished.
Amy apologized to Johnny for what Sophia had done. Johnny promised not to badmouth Sophia to her son, and he invited Amy to visit Trey. Johnny told Amy to keep the photo of Trey that Sophia had stolen. After Amy’s conversation with Johnny, she still blamed Ari and Holly for Sophia’s death.
The paternity test confirmed that Alex was Kelsey’s father. Alex asked Joy to stay in Salem with his daughter so that he could get to know her. Jeremy left town overnight, and Julie asked Stephanie for answers. Stephanie told Julie about Jeremy’s plot to bring Joy to Salem to break up Stephanie’s marriage. Julie advised Stephanie that if her marriage was meant to be, it would be strengthened by the baby.
Alex told Justin about Kelsey. Gabi overheard Alex and gave him advice about co-parenting. Jada visited Stephanie, and she told Jada about Jeremy and Kelsey. Jada advised Stephanie to be honest about her feelings with Alex. Jada also encouraged Stephanie to get to know Kelsey before she decided she could not be around a child. When Stephanie ran into Joy and Kelsy at the pub, a flustered Stephanie hurriedly left. Kate invited Joy to move into her old room above the pub.
It’s always been a matter of trust

Gabi was eager to keep Liam out of Ari’s life, but Philip cautioned her against interference. Philip reminded Gabi that Ari was a headstrong teenager that would be driven into Liam’s arms if Gabi forbid it. Gabi made a hurtful comment about Philip not being a father, and he confessed that he had a son. Philip told Gabi that Tyler had been adopted, but he hoped to find him one day. Gabi reluctantly agreed that Philip was right about Ari. When Gabi attempted to talk to Ari about Liam, they fought. Gabi warned Ari to stay away from Liam, or she would regret it.
Roman asked Kate to watch the pub while he visited Johnny alone. Kate continued to insist that she had not set up Johnny. Roman told Johnny that he did not believe Kate. When Roman later confronted Kate about the lawsuit, she refused to back down. Roman told Kate that he appreciated her, but he also knew there was more to the lawsuit.
Theo told Cat he was anxious to finish Stefano’s estate issues because he had not wanted to be involved. Theo admitted there would be a surprise, but he said he could not tell Cat. Theo opened up to Marlena about Lexie, and she advised him to focus on what he could control. Theo confessed that he was worried that Lexie’s place was no longer on earth.
Kristen dreamed that Sophia had survived. Kristen yelled at Sophia for having ruined their plan to kill Johnny. Kristen was attempting to finish the job to kill Sophia when EJ woke her and mentioned that she had said Sophia’s name in her sleep. EJ accused Kristen of plotting with Sophia to kill Johnny.
Lexie shocks all

Before the reading, EJ met with Rita at Lexie’s bedside. EJ admitted that Rolf was disappointed that Lexie’s progress had plateaued. EJ vowed not to give up the research, and that he had plenty more patients to test after Lexie. When Rita exited the tunnels in the garden, a snooping Leo spotted her. Leo ducked into the tunnels through the garden entrance, and he ran into Cat. Leo accused Cat of working for the ISA. Cat laughed at the idea. When a sound was heard nearby, Cat and Leo agreed to investigate it together.
The DiMera family gathered in the mansion living room for the reading of Stefano’s will. EJ learned from an employee that someone had arrived from Alamainia on a private jet, and he announced it before the reading of the will. Theo announced that Stefano had left homes and trust funds for Rita, Harold, and Rolf. Additionally, Stefano had left his entire estate to his children to be divided equally. Marlena belatedly attended the reading, and Rita presented her with a chess board from Stefano. Marlena rejected the gift, and she left.
At the end of the reading, Gabi arrived and announced that she was Stefan’s widow. Gabi explained that Evan had testified that Vivian had forged Stefan’s signature while she had held her son captive. EJ vowed to get to the bottom of Gabi’s claim. Theo told Gabi he believed her, and as executor, he would take her claim seriously. As the family held a toast to Stefano, Lexie stumbled out of the secret tunnel into the room. Everyone stared in disbelief.
