On Days of our Lives today, Monday, November 17, 2025, word about Kristen’s prison escape and Tony’s disappearance spreads, Marlena gets a potential diagnosis, and EJ anticipates the next phase of his mysterious plan.
What Happened on Days of our Lives

In her hospital room, Marlena admitted to Sarah that she was worried since the medication to treat her arrhythmia didn’t appear to be working. Sarah tried to comfort Marlena by relaying her own experiences as a patient, which was a time in her life she felt had made her more “resilient.” The doctor grew concerned, however, when she spotted a rash on Marlena’s arm. Marlena had attributed the rash to hives and to the stress of her grief, but Sarah believed – combined with Marlena’s other symptoms – that it could indicate Lyme Disease. Since Sarah had already run a test for the condition, she decided to conduct another one to be sure.
At the Brady Pub, Rachel fretted about her Grandma Marlena to Brady. EJ soon arrived on the scene, which did nothing to dispel Rachel’s tense state. He took Brady aside and informed him that Kristen had seemingly escaped from prison. Brady attempted to remain calm when he approached Rachel again, but the little girl quickly sensed something was wrong. Brady reluctantly told Rachel about Kristen as EJ took his leave.
Rachel immediately began panicking about her mother, first accusing EJ of being a “spy” for the warden and then coming up with scenarios where her mom could be targeted by the police, like in the movies. Brady assured Rachel that Kristen was smart enough to stay far away from them, since she knew the police would expect her to seek out her daughter. Rachel took Brady’s assurances to mean that she’d never see her mom again.
Rachel wondered if Brady’s refusal to let her visit Kristen had compelled her mom to make a break for it. Brady could only respond that Kristen always had a plan, so he believed she would be fine. Roman interrupted the fraught conversation and updated Brady and Rachel that Marlena was stable. The trio made their way to the hospital.
Back at the hospital, Belle and Eric filled their time in the waiting area by discussing Sami’s big news. Belle thought it was on-brand for Sami to become engaged to a “mob prince.” Eric defended that they didn’t know the fiancé; therefore, they couldn’t know his true character for certain. If Sami was involved, Belle attested, the man was likely a “walking disaster.” The conversation was put on hold when Sarah came from Marlena’s room.
Sarah filled Belle and Eric in on Marlena’s continued a-fib. She told them about her theories and said she’d run more tests, although the results could take a while with the hospital’s budget cuts. On cue, the source of said cuts – EJ – appeared. As he approached, Belle blasted him and warned that if something happened to Marlena, she would bring the full weight of the DA’s office down on him for “criminal negligence.” When Belle stormed off, a confused EJ asked Sarah what had happened with Marlena.
Sarah testily responded that she couldn’t and wouldn’t break Marlena’s confidentiality. EJ subtly threatened Sarah’s job. When Eric intervened, EJ smirked and challenged how Nicole would feel about Eric’s “passionate” defense of his ex. The men traded insults until EJ sidled away. Eric thanked Sarah for all she had done for his mom.
Eric also commended Sarah on being there for Rachel. Sarah reminded Eric she would always have a place in her heart for the little girl they’d once believed to be their own. Eric expressed his sympathies for Sarah’s break-up with Xander, but Sarah insisted it had been for the best. Later, Brady and Rachel arrived and met up with Sarah. After warm greetings were exchanged, Rachel left briefly to fetch a snack.
Brady took the opportunity alone with Sarah to tell her about Kristen’s escape. Sarah comforted Brady and pledged she would be on hand for anything Rachel or he needed. Brady hugged her in gratitude. Just then, Rachel reappeared and observed the embrace with shock and seeming suspicion.
Meanwhile, Belle went to Marlena’s room and found her mother sleeping. She spoke to God about losing her father. She couldn’t bear it if anything happened to her mother, too, she affirmed as she took Marlena’s hand and cried softly. Marlena roused and attempted to reassure her daughter. She considered the possible diagnosis a good thing, since she’d been concerned all the symptoms had been in her head.
Marlena reinforced that she felt better with answers and a treatment plan on the horizon. Eric and Roman also visited, which brought more comfort to Marlena.
At the Hernandez house, Javi was busy cooking in the kitchen when Gabi arrived home. He told her it’d be just them since Rafe and Leo had work. After Gabi pondered what Leo’s work assignment could be, Javi happily gave her the gossip on Tony’s disappearance. Gabi seemed taken aback by the news, but she grew angry when Javi insinuated she might know something about the DiMeras' vanishing act. She didn’t want to once again be accused of an act she didn’t commit.
Javi apologized and said he’d just been thinking about Gabi’s recent friction with Tony over DiMera Enterprises. He also confided that he was still on edge after losing Tesoro. He couldn’t stand the thought of losing someone else he loved. Gabi softened and commiserated with Javi over Tesoro. She still couldn’t believe that the baby had actually made Leo seem like a real human being with feelings; she had come a long way with her housemate since he’d accused her of EJ’s shooting.
At the mention of the shooting and Leo, Javi commented that Leo wasn’t certain Kristen had actually shot her brother. He noted Leo’s interactions with EJ about the topic. Gabi could only hope that if Kristen wasn’t the culprit, the finger of guilt wouldn’t be pointed back at her.
In the DiMera crypt, Tony took the blindfold and restraints off Kristen. She embraced her brother and pondered how they’d both gotten themselves into the situation. Kristen said she’d been jumped from behind at the prison and had awakened to find herself there with Tony. He added he’d been on his way to the port when he, too, had been attacked from behind by an unknown person. After some snark about Anna, Kristen promptly narrowed the list of their potential captors down to one: EJ.
Tony scoffed, especially when Kristen suggested that EJ might have taken out Theo as well as vengeance for Tony choosing him over Johnny as CEO of DiMera. Kristen made the case that Stefano had always groomed EJ to believe he’d be the heir apparent to Stefano's empire, so maybe EJ had expedited being the “last DiMera standing.” She also invoked the disappearances of Stefan, Dimitri, and Megan as proof. Tony nevertheless didn’t think EJ would go that far, especially since Kristen had been sent to prison for shooting him. Kristen reminded Tony he didn’t have any enemies, but Tony recalled his confrontation with Gabi.
As a determined Kristen looked around the crypt for an escape route, she marveled that of all the family members there, Stefano was not among them. He’d pitted his kids against each other but had ultimately disappeared from their lives without a trace. Tony claimed he hadn’t “the foggiest idea” where their father had gone. Meanwhile, in the secret hospital lab, EJ approached a glowing capsule. “Our family reunion is long overdue,” he mused.
