Kristen awoke in the DiMera crypt. “I don’t even know if we’ve been locked up here for two days or 10,” Tony muttered. Kristen noted that although she did not know the date, she knew it was almost Thanksgiving. “[Rachel] is going to be worried sick about me,” Kristen said. Tony told Kristen that Rachel would eventually realize that she was better off without Kristen.

“That is a cruel thing to say!” Kristen snapped. Tony argued that it had been cruel of Kristen to allow Rachel to testify against Johnny when Kristen had known that she was the one who had shot EJ. “I did what I had to do,” Kristen said. Tony argued that, like Stefano, Kristen was justifying her own bad actions.

“I thought the one redeeming quality you had, [was that] you were a good mother,” Tony said. Kristen hissed that Tony did not know anything. “All I want for [Rachel] is to be safe and happy,” Kristen said. Kristen told Tony to never insult her capabilities as a mother again. Tony apologized, and he glanced over at Andre DiMera’s nameplate.

“I can see why Andre was so drawn to you, your assertiveness, your strength. I can see why you two are cut from the same cloth,” Tony said. Kristen scoffed. “Andre was a sadistic maniac whom I married because Father thought marrying off his adoptive daughter to his son would make me a better DiMera,” Kristen grumbled. Kristen changed the subject back to their captor. Kristen still blamed EJ, but Tony suggested that Vivian was the culprit.

“That is a distinct possibility. Although she doesn’t typically leave food and water for those she’s buried alive,” Kristen noted. Tony agreed. Kristen argued that someone would find them. “When was the last time that you visited this crypt?” Tony asked. Kristen shrugged. Tony said it had been years for him. “The chance of us, well, being discovered would be slim to none,” Tony said. Kristen returned to digging in the crypt, and she told Tony she had found something.

At the Brady Pub, Stephanie asked Alex if he was feeling better. Alex said yes, and noted, “I must have eaten something that didn’t agree with me.” Holly arrived and apologized for being late for her interview. After Alex left, Holly told Stephanie that Sarah was in the hospital for an allergic reaction. Stephanie offered to reschedule, but Holly wanted to continue. Stephanie broke down the list of duties for the assistant position.

“Are you sure you’re going to be able to juggle all of this on top of your coursework?” Stephanie asked. Holly stressed that she was excellent at time management. Holly showed Stephannie a proposal she had created to show the best way to improve engagement on social media for the PR company and Anastasia Sands. Stephanie hired Holly.

Ari visited Tate at the penthouse, and she delivered a batch of pumpkin empanadas for their Friendsgiving dinner. With a grin, Ari noticed that Tate had been studying. “Holly must be rubbing off on you,” Ari said. Tate confided that he was close to flunking out of school. Ari urged Tate to ask Holly for help, but Tate refused to tell Holly. Ari suggested that Tate go to the tutor center and work with his professors to make up some ground. “That would be beyond embarrassing. Not to mention pathetic,” Tate said. “Everyone screws up, Tate,” Ari said.

Chanel was pushing Trey’s stroller through the square when she said hello to Aaron, who was passing by. Aaron explained he had picked up pumpkin donuts for Friendsgiving. After an awkward moment of silence, Aaron asked about the baby. With a chuckle, Chanel admitted that Trey had been crying all morning, so she had decided to take him out for a stroll to calm him. Chanel asked Aaron if he wanted to hold the baby. Aaron declined. Chanel apologized, but Aaron told her not to worry.

“I just don’t want to, you know, get too attached. And it’s really good that I can see him every now and then,” Aaron said. Chanel said she understood and that she knew the situation was difficult for him. “But I do want you to know that Johnny and I, we are so grateful for what you did,” Chanel said.

After Aaron left, Alex walked over and congratulated Chanel on the new baby. Chanel admitted that the baby had been fussy, and she had not slept. “Motherhood obviously suits you,” Alex said. Stephanie joined Chanel and Alex after her interview with Holly, and she asked Chanel to join them. The three sat in the square and chatted over drinks about the changes in Chanel’s life since the adoption.

“Nothing prepares you for what it’s really like. This is honestly the hardest experience that I’ve ever had,” Chanel said. Stephanie said she looked forward to babysitting because she could cuddle the baby and then give him back to his parents. Alex’s smile disappeared. When Trey got fussy again, Alex calmed him. Chanel told Alex and Stephanie that they would make great parents someday.

After Chanel left, Alex asked Stephanie if she wanted to be a mom. Stephanie said she wanted to be a mother someday, but that she was not ready. “Why do you look disappointed?” Stephanie asked. Alex said he had not thought about kids much, but he had enjoyed seeing how happy Johnny and Chanel were. “Let’s table it for now,” Stephanie said. Alex appeared disappointed.

In Marlena’s empty hospital room, Belle and Brady talked about Marlena. “Marlena needs a pacemaker,” Brady said. “Apparently, Lyme disease left untreated can have some pretty serious complications, which it has for Mom,” Belle said. Belle added that the treatment was simple and that Marlena should be fine.

With a sigh, Brady said he wanted to get advice from their mother, but he did not want to bother her. Belle encouraged Brady to open up to her. Brady reluctantly told Belle that Rachel had intentionally caused Sarah to suffer an allergic reaction. “Right now [Rachel] is with Dr. Fuller doing a full psychiatric workup, which I’m not allowed to be a part of,” Brady said. Brady stressed that Rachel had not known that Sarah’s reaction would have been that severe.

“Rachel’s been crying out for weeks, Belle. Months maybe. She’s been crying out for help. And I knew it. I deluded myself into thinking that she was getting the help she needed and she was fine. But obviously, she wasn’t fine,” Brady said. Brady asked Belle for help. “I’m glad that Rachel had a change of heart at the last minute. That shows remorse,” Belle said. Belle told Brady that she did not think that Sarah would press charges.

“There’s something else. When Rachel saw Sarah go into anaphylactic shock, it triggered a memory for her,” Brady said. Brady told Belle that Rachel was the one that had shot EJ. “It was an accident,” Brady said. Brady explained that Rachel had suppressed the memory until the incident with Sarah. “What are you going to do?” Brady asked Belle. Belle said it depended on a few things. Brady lamented that he had not seen how bad things were for Rachel, but Belle reminded Brady that she and Shawn had missed the signs when Claire had had a breakdown. Belle encouraged Brady to be hopeful about the results of Rachel’s mental health treatment.

“Are you 100% certain that Rachel’s memory is legitimate?” Belle asked. Brady said that Dr. Fuller had confirmed that the memory was real. “Why would Kristen confess?” Belle asked. “To protect Rachel. She took the fall for our daughter,” Brady said. Brady groaned as he talked about how vicious he had been to Kristen after she had claimed responsibility for the shooting.

Confused, Belle wondered aloud how Kristen knew that Rachel was the shooter. “I mean, EJ still claims he doesn’t know who shot him,” Belle said. Brady was unsure. Belle noted she would need to readdress the case. “I just can’t make any promises,” Belle said. After a discussion with Dr. Fuller, Brady returned to tell Belle that Dr. Fuller wanted to send Rachel to Bayview for treatment. “I feel like I failed my little girl,” Brady said. “Rachel can and will get better. Just like Claire did,” Belle countered.

When Aaron arrived at the penthouse with donuts, Ari smacked his shoulder. “I told Tate I’d bring the desserts,” Ari said. Tate noted that he had been studying, but he would see what they had in the kitchen for dinner. Aaron ordered Tate to put the books away. Holly arrived with a pumpkin soufflé casserole. Tate asked about Holly’s job interview, and she confirmed she had been hired.

“So what’s new with you guys?” Holly asked. Aaron told Holly and Tate that he and Ari had visited Sophia at Bayview. “Was Sophia any better?” Tate asked. Ari said no. Tate admitted he had not told Sophia the name of the baby’s parents, but that he had told her he was safe. “It was just heartbreaking to see Sophia like that. And I was thinking, what might cheer her up, is if you went to go see her, Tate,” Aaron said. The conversation stopped, and after a moment, Ari and Aaron went into the kitchen to look for food while Tate and Holly talked.

“Would you be okay with me visiting Sophia?” Tate asked. “Totally. As long as you don’t expect me to go with you,” Holly said. Tate stressed that he would never ask Holly to forgive Sophia, and he did not know if he could forgive her either. “I feel like I have to at least try [to help her],” Tate said. Holly agreed. The four teens ate pizza and watched a movie together.
