In today’s Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Aaron hosts a séance, Sophia gets a big payday, and Xander puts on the brakes.
Bedside Therapy Breakthrough

At the hospital, Sarah talked with a sleeping Xander about how glad Victoria would be to see him. Marlena entered the room for a visit with her patient. After pleasantries were exchanged, the topic of Brady’s break-up with Sarah arose between the women. Xander roused and overheard. Seemingly hurt, he said that he’d thought Sarah had broken up with Brady.
Sarah forced a smile and replied that Brady had beat her to it. She was surprised when Xander requested a few moments alone with Marlena but honored the request. Once alone, Xander thanked Marlena for agreeing to talk with him off-the-clock, and she correctly surmised that he wanted to discuss Brady and Sarah. Xander said that Sarah loved deeply, and if she had loved Brady before, he didn’t think that love had disappeared overnight. Xander had saved Sarah, which had reaffirmed the love they had for each other, but love had never been their problem.
Marlena agreed with Xander’s assessment that trust was his and Sarah’s major issue. Xander had put in the work on himself, and he believed Sarah needed to do the same if they were to have a chance as a real and lasting couple. “We need to learn to talk to each other,” Xander concluded. Marlena commended Xander on his realization and his determination to end the cycle of break-ups and make-ups with Sarah. She fully supported his decision to take things slowly and to see where they led.
Break-Up Blues

Outside, in the waiting area, Brady and Tate briefly discussed Rachel’s imminent release. Tate admitted it had been lonelier at their new abode since Rachel wasn’t there and since Sarah had been working so much. Brady hinted that the environment might get lonelier still and then confided in Tate about “parting ways” with Sarah. Tate was shocked, since he’d believed Brady and Sarah were happy together. Brady confessed that Sarah’s lingering love for Xander had always been an issue, and he’d finally acknowledged that Sarah’s heart rested elsewhere.
Awkwardly on cue, Sarah arrived on the scene and asked to speak with Brady. After Tate took his leave, Sarah apologized to her now-ex. Brady admitted he had overheard Sarah declare her love to Xander. Sarah said she’d never denied to Brady that she loved Xander, but she had been sincere in her resolve to build a future with Brady. When Brady asked if Sarah would have broken up with him if he’d not done so first, she didn’t deny it.
Sarah did say that Brady had truly made her happy, and she hoped she’d done the same for him. She still fondly remembered how he’d been there for her and had even taken her to the anger room to unleash her frustrations. She was so sorry that she had hurt him. Brady said with some bitterness that it was inevitable. He declined Sarah’s offer to talk with Rachel.
Brady believed it best if Sarah steered clear of Rachel…and of him, at least for the time being. He left Sarah with a final piece of advice: tread cautiously with Xander, should the relationship go badly off the rails once again. Marlena later joined Brady and offered him her support. Brady steered the conversation to Dominic, and Marlena updated him on her attempts to contact the man. Marlena stressed that even if Stefano was Dominic’s father, she held no ill will for her potential son and only wanted the best for him.
Meanwhile, Sarah returned to Xander’s side. He had a heart-to-heart with her about his determination to take a happier and healthier path forward this time and to ensure that any reunion would be “forever,” for them and – most importantly – for their daughter. Sarah said she was willing to do whatever it took, including individual or family counseling. Xander stressed that for now, their relationship could not be a romantic one and would remain at co-parenting Victoria. Sarah said she understood and Xander thanked her, but as she departed both seemed doubtful and sad.
The Richest Ghost in Town

At the Salem Inn, Sophia returned to Kristen, fresh from a discreet spying session on Salem’s citizens. She snarked about girls she had known from school making fools of themselves and waxed poetic about seeing little kids in full trick-or-treating mode. The latter images made her long to see her son again. Kristen empathized with the void Trey’s absence left in Sophia’s life. She reassured her partner-in-crime that Sophia had done the right and selfless thing by stepping aside and allowing her son to be raised by people who loved him dearly.
Sophia expressed her regret for blaming Johnny for all her problems, and Kristen did the same in regards to EJ. Sophia’s therapy had helped her make peace with her decision to give Trey up for adoption and to accept Johnny and Chanel as his parents. She’d also realized she needed to leave town soon…but she needed the funds to do it. Kristen presented Sophia with a bag. Sophia's eyes widened when she opened it to reveal a big heap of cash.
Kristen also gave Sophia a card with instructions for accessing the rest of the money. Sophia pledged she wouldn’t lose it and jubilantly hugged Kristen, who put on a smile and wished Sophia well. Sophia re-donned her mask and said her goodbyes before strolling out the door. Once she was gone, Kristen dropped the overtly sweet act and rolled her eyes.
Bringing Up Baby

In Horton Town Square, Chanel — with Trey in tow — bumped into Aaron, fresh from his ghost tour host duties. Aaron smiled and made funny faces at his son, who returned the happy sentiments. Chanel asked if Aaron wanted to hold Trey, but he insisted on admiring Trey “from afar.” Aaron marveled at how big Trey had gotten but admitted he still didn’t feel like a father. Chanel reminded him he was a father and, more so, Aaron was family and welcome to see Trey at any time.
Chanel was eternally grateful to Aaron and Sophia for their generous adoption choice, although Chanel wasn’t confident Sophia would still feel the same way about said choice. Aaron chose to believe that Sophia would have come around and would approve of their son’s place in such a wonderful and loving family. Following Aaron's departure, Chanel chatted with her son as a masked Sophia watched from afar. When Chanel dropped Trey's toy, Sophia hurried forward, retrieved it, and handed it back to Chanel, who thanked her. Sophia managed to get a final glimpse of her son before Chanel left.
Later, Chanel saw Marlena outside the Brady Pub and warmly greeted her grandmother-in-law. Chanel asked if Johnny had reached out. When Marlena confirmed he hadn’t, Chanel filled her in on EJ disowning Johnny and Johnny’s struggles with losing his father. For her part, Chanel believed Johnny was better off. Chanel made a comment about children not being defined by their fathers; Marlena, wearing a contemplative expression, agreed.
Spirit Halloween

At the university dorms, Holly and Ari returned from a “lame” Halloween party. Holly hinted she’d had a true haunting experience and gave Ari all the details about her unsettling call on the hotline. Holly had thought for a moment that Sophia might still be alive. Ari scoffed and declared there was no possible way…was there? Aaron and Tate joined the ladies.
Once Aaron heard Holly’s story, he indicated there was a means to determine if Sophia was in the Great Beyond: a séance. It was Tate’s turn to scoff, but Aaron insisted he had experience with the process due to his ghost tour hosting. Holly and Ari were skeptical but intrigued, so Holly agreed to the experiment. Later, with great ceremony, Aaron prepared for the séance, complete with candles and jars of Sophia’s favorite peanut butter.
As the friends settled down, Aaron invoked his “Aunt Clara” as a spiritual guide for Sophia. He asked for a sign that his aunt was present, and the teens jumped when a book suddenly crashed to the floor behind them. Satisfied that he’d made contact, Aaron called out to Sophia…but didn’t get any response. Tate put an abrupt halt to the proceedings and declared it a joke. Aaron defended the idea, but Holly backed Tate, so the unsuccessful séance officially concluded.
After Tate and Holly left, Ari tried to cheer Aaron up. He was more interested in the fact that they now had the room to themselves. Ari assumed he wanted to play video games, but Aaron had other ideas. He approached Ari and made his intentions clear with a kiss.
Meanwhile, Tate and Holly walked through Horton Town Square. Tate sympathized with how the hotline call had rattled Holly. A phone call from Brady temporarily drew him away. As Holly scanned the crowd of Halloween revelers, she caught sight of one reveler in particular who had removed her mask. Sophia and Holly locked eyes, and Sophia quickly put her mask back on and retreated. Holly stared after her, in stunned disbelief.
Will someone talk Holly out of her latest Sophia sighting? Should Xander and Sarah reunite? And who will mend Brady’s broken heart? Sound off in the comments.
