Two days before the 61st anniversary of Days of our Lives on Friday, November 6, 2026, Gwen told Gabi about Leo’s breakthrough, Sydney was suspicious, Belle kept mum on her investigation to Chad, Kristen disguised herself as Susan, and Dominic introduced himself to EJ and Marlena.

Gwen joined Gabi for a drink at Small Bar, and she congratulated her on her renewed relationship with Philip. When Gwen talked about the rush of a big win for Philip, Gabi looked taken aback. Gwen told Gabi about her conversation with Leo about the warehouse.

When Gabi mentioned that she had shut down the gambling angle to the investigation, Gwen asked why. Gabi explained that she had been concerned about Philip getting involved with his mafia connections again. Curious about the investigation, Gabi asked if she should invite Leo to join them for drinks. Leo did not answer his phone. Gwen appeared concerned.

A Little Help from My Kin

In the DiMera living room, EJ grumbled to someone on the phone about picking up a shipment from the warehouse in Rita’s absence. Sydney overheard as she walked into the room. EJ explained that he was having issues with work since Rita had left. When Sydney suggested that EJ hire a new assistant, EJ explained that Rita had been more than an assistant and was not easily replaced. “[She even handled] things that I didn’t want to be aware of,” EJ said. Sydney asked for an example.

EJ changed the subject to Dante, but Sydney was not so easily distracted. Sydney asked EJ if she could take on some of Rita’s responsibilities to help ease EJ’s burden. “I am family, after all,” Sydney said. EJ declined. Tony texted EJ to tell him that his flight to Salem was delayed. As EJ put on his coat, Dante called Sydney and asked her to deal with a work matter. EJ told Sydney he would see her at the memorial when she was done with work.

Belle met up with Chad in the square on the way to Lexie’s memorial at the pub. Chad asked how Belle was feeling since this was her first memorial since John’s. Belle said she was fine, but she was worried about her mother. Chad told Belle that Theo was upset about the revelations that DiMera was using its shipping business for smuggling. Chad asked Belle about her investigation into EJ.

With a shrug, Belle said she could not talk about it. Chad reminded Belle that she had pushed him to get involved, and he hoped she could at least give him a quote for the story. Belle said she could not compromise her investigation. When Belle asked about Leo’s investigation, Chad said he could not say much without exposing his source. Belle encouraged Chad to hand over any evidence he collected before he printed a story about it. Chad said he did not have anything yet, but he would turn over anything concrete to the police. Belle agreed to update Chad when she could.

Friends and Lost Time

At the penthouse, Marlena stared at a photo of John, and she wished him a Happy Anniversary. Julie arrived with flowers and a hug for her friend. The two women sat down to chat, and they talked about their past anniversaries. Julie told Marlena about her conversation with Foster. Julie told Marlena that Alice had once told her that Tom had stayed with her after his death, and that she was comforted by the love of her family. Julie said she felt the same way as Alice.

Julie asked Marlena if she was up for attending Lexie’s memorial. Marlena said she wanted to say goodbye to her friend and be with her community. With a smile, Marlena said that although she missed John, she was thankful for the years of happy memories that they had shared. Marlena said she was just as grateful for her friendship with Julie. Julie said she felt the same way.

As the talk turned to the "good" DiMera children, Julie noted that Stefano had not raised Lexie or Chad. “I’m not sure that matters,” Marlena snapped. Marlena apologized, and she noted that her grandchildren were struggling with their identities as DiMeras. Julie argued that everyone wrestled with their identities, and Marlena agreed. Julie reminded Marlena that Johnny and Sydney had Marlena in their corner.

Marlena talked about how John had raised her children after Stefano had kidnapped her, and how they had missed out on time with their mother. Julie countered that the children had been loved by the Hortons and the Bradys while Marlena was gone, and they had been loved by Marlena when she returned. Marlena smiled. After Julie left the penthouse, she visited the plaque of Tom and Alice in the square.

Outside the Brady Pub, Kristen, disguised as Susan, cried as she touched the poster for Lexie’s memorial. Kristen sniffled back her tears and went inside. Roman greeted “Susan.” “Susan” explained that she wanted a private moment to pay her respects before the family arrived. “Susan” said she needed to leave for her cruise, and she asked Roman not to tell EJ that she had been there.

While Roman went into the kitchen, Kristen sat down next to Lexie’s photo. Kristen told Lexie that she was happy that Lexie had been able to spend her last moments with her loved ones. Kristen thanked Lexie for having helped her escape EJ’s wrath. With tears in her eyes, Kristen told her sister to rest in peace.

As Roman returned, Kristen made the sign of the cross. When Roman asked about it, “Susan” lied and said she was not Catholic, but she knew that Lexie was, and she had wanted to show her respect. As “Susan” prepared to leave, Chad and Belle arrived for the memorial. Kristen played her role as she chatted with Chad and Belle, but she quickly excused herself to leave. While Chad and Belle went into the back to see Kate, EJ walked in before Kristen could leave. “Susan” feigned excitement to see “her son,” and she explained that she had to leave for her cruise. EJ asked “Susan” to stay for the memorial.

As “Susan” stammered out excuses, she spotted the real Susan outside the pub’s window. Kristen hurriedly left out the back as Marlena walked in and said hello to EJ. When Susan walked in and greeted EJ, he was confused. EJ’s smile disappeared as he realized the first Susan had actually been Kristen. Dominic arrived and introduced himself. “Hello, brother,” Dominic said. EJ noticed that Dominic was wearing Stefano’s phoenix ring.
