On the Tuesday, October 27, 2026, episode of Days of our Lives, Philip and Maggie worried about Xander, Mason and Holly heard a familiar voice, Kristen confessed, and Marlena reached out.
Waiting is the Hardest Part

At the hospital, Philip and Maggie waited with Gabi for an update on Xander’s condition. Maggie explained to Gabi that the evidence on the computer could clear Sarah. Gabi appeared surprised that Xander had risked his life to save Sarah, but Philip noted that Xander still loved his ex.
Gabi admitted that although her relationship with Xander was rocky, she still appreciated how he had supported her when Ari had been kidnapped. Maggie noted that after Victor’s death, Xander had checked on her every morning. Philip told Maggie and Gabi about the time he had faked choking to test Xander, and despite Xander’s anger at the time, he had acted to save Philip’s life. “That’s when he and I turned a corner and really became brothers,” Philip said.
After Maggie sent Sarah home, she told Philip that they would take turns watching Xander. While Philip sat with Xander, Maggie thanked Gabi for her help. Maggie asked about Gabi’s renewed relationship with Philip, and Gabi admitted that it was unexpected, but she was happy. Maggie mentioned Philip’s gambling addiction, and Gabi promised to keep an eye on Philip.
While his brother slept, Philip teased him about all the positive attention Xander was getting. Philip told Xander that he had never had a better friend in his life than Xander, and he needed him to survive. Philip talked about how Xander had taken the bullet for Sarah, and that it proved that Xander’s love story with Sarah was not over.
After Maggie took over, she compared Xander’s passion to Victor’s, and she added that Xander also had Victor’s capacity to love and hurt people. “I know I’ve been hard on you. But let’s face it, you deserve it most of the time,” Maggie said. Maggie told Xander that she was proud of how hard he had worked to address his anger issues, and that Victor would be proud of his son. With tears in her eyes, Maggie told Xander that she forgave him and that she loved him.
In Philip’s bedroom at the Kiriakis mansion, Gabi urged Philip to have faith that Xander would make a full recovery. With a sigh, Philip talked about how he had as many anger issues as Xander. Philip admitted that over time, he had realized that he needed his brother in his life.
The Call

In the pub, Marlena stared at Dominic’s contact information on her phone. Tate walked in, and he told Marlena that feeling had started to return to Joy’s legs. Marlena confirmed that both Rachel and Xander had done well in their surgeries. Confused, Tate asked what had happened with Xander. Marlena updated Tate, and she confirmed a possible connection to Holly’s poisoning. As Tate marveled that EJ continued to escape justice, Marlena noted that it was a DiMera trademark.
Above the pub, Mason talked to someone on the mental health hotline while Holly observed. After the call, Mason noted that the hope was that their work made a difference. After Mason showed Holly the ropes, they took another call. Unknown to Mason or Holly, Sophia was the caller.
Sophia said her name was Amelia, and that she had called to talk to a friendly voice. Curious, Mason asked if they had talked to one another before. Sophia said no. Sophia talked about the emotional turmoil from having seen her family after a long absence. Mason asked “Amelia” if she had received closure from the reunion, and Sophia said that she had and felt better.
After Sophia ended the call, Holly said that the caller had sounded like Sophia. Mason agreed. After a moment, Mason told Holly that he thought he had heard Sophia’s voice in the park the night before. Holly said on a couple occasions she had thought she had seen Sophia. Mason theorized that their shared guilt over Sophia had made them see and hear Sophia because they had been thinking about her. Holly argued that they both had unresolved issues, and she suggested that they could work through them together.
As Mason and Holly exited his room, they ran into Tate. Holly explained that she had been training for the helpline with Mason. Sensing the awkwardness, Mason left. Tate said that Joy had asked him to pick up some items from her room and told Holly about Joy’s breakthrough. Tate also informed Holly about the shooting and that Xander was recovering from surgery. Worried, Holly insisted that she needed to go to the hospital to support Maggie and Sarah.
Mason joined Marlena at her table in the pub. After a moment, Mason hesitantly told Marlena that his last caller had sounded like Sophia Choi. Mason admitted that the call had brought up his feelings of guilt. Marlena encouraged Mason to talk about his feelings. When Marlena returned home, Marlena called Dominic and left a voicemail asking to talk.
Friendly confession

A disguised Kristen was marching through the square when Lani recognized her. The two women slipped away into the park to talk privately. Kristen explained that she had returned to town to check on Rachel in the hospital, and that Rachel was finally on the mend.
Lani pushed Kristen to explain why she had left town. Kristen admitted that she had done something horrific. Lani pushed for details. After Kristen told Lani that she had convinced Sophia to attempt to murder Johnny, Lani exploded at her friend. Kristen argued that she had not been thinking clearly.
“Do you hear yourself? You are talking about killing an innocent young man who happens to be my sister’s husband and the father of my niece and nephew!” Lani said. Kristen argued that her actions were indefensible, and she was grateful that Johnny had survived. Kristen said she had planned to make amends, but EJ had threatened to kill her. With a sigh, Lani said she understood why.
When Lani asked about Rachel, Kristen explained that Brady had made it clear that Kristen could no longer be a part of Rachel’s life. With a nervous chuckle, Kristen said she was relieved that Lani was no longer a cop. Lani informed Kristen that she had been rehired by the Salem PD. Lani stressed that once she took the oath, she would be obligated to report Kristen’s confession. Lani argued that technically Sophia had committed the crimes and was not alive to testify against Kristen.
Kristen changed the subject to Lani’s family. Lani noted that everyone was doing well, and there would be a memorial for Lexie. Lani warned Kristen not to attend. Lani told Kristen that she knew that Kristen was sorry for her actions, but that it was not enough for the family. Lani told Kristen that she forgave her, and she hoped that she could reunite with Rachel eventually.
