Days of our Lives' Stefano DiMera is dead and we are hoping he can stay that way, as the character would be nearing 100 years old. However, his offspring just can't seem to get the dead act together. Death seems to be nothing but a temporary state for this clan — and that's because the DiMeras have their own personal mad scientist on the payroll. For some odd reason, he can't bring Abigail DiMera or Adrienne Kiriakis back from the dead, but give him time, we guess, cause if he can do it for Lexie, he can do it for just about anyone.
This one was supposed to stay dead

It's public knowledge that Renee Jones, who had played Lexie Carver for nearly 20 years, had asked Lexie to be laid to rest for good. That request was honored for nearly 15 years, but when EJ's secret pod opened on Friday, and Paulina gasped while speaking her husband's dead wife's name, a new era began.
We're pretty sure this will be a short era, as Nikki Crawford's time on the Days of our Lives set seems to have already come to an end, but we're also quite curious to see how this would go. We're a little puzzled about why this show decided to resurrect a character whose death scene was so poignant and real, but here we go.
So, why did EJ decide that this was the sibling he would resurrect instead of, say, Andre? That could have caused some super confusion, considering Andre has a lookalike in Tony? Is it his ridiculous rivalry with Paulina? Did he think if he brought his dead sister back to life, he could torture the mayor? Is this just some petty revenge on EJ's part, because that is what it seems like? He sure was anxious to show her his handiwork as soon as Rolf declared she was waking up. If this is all a squabble between the mayor and the former district attorney, spare us, please.
For now, we will withhold judgment on this odd resurrection decision until we see the story play out. Maybe there was a good reason for this, but so far, we are not seeing it.
Days of our Lives' dumbest detectives at work

Well, will miracles never cease! Perhaps more miraculous than Lexie being alive is the fact that Steve finally realized that Jeremy is not Stephanie's stalker after all. It took him all week, and he still had a hard time fully convincing the brain trust that is Jada, but at least they are somewhat on the right track now.
And Stephanie? Boy, did she have a mea culpa moment as she apologized profusely to this man who just wanted a quiet life as a school teacher and maybe to meet a nice lady on a dating app. Instead, Stephanie's rush to judgment ruined all of that.
But what is the purpose of Stephanie's talker and Rolf's right-hand man being one and the same? The whole thing is just weird and we need an explanation. Yes, Owen once worked for EJ, but EJ doesn't even seem to know he is in the lab and the person Rolf has charged with monitoring the pod. That meant last week's two main stories that had nothing to do with one another were intertwined, but not in a good way. So, we will have to reserve judgment again.
But Holly...

One thing we refuse to reserve judgment on is what Sophia is doing to Holly. This story is absolutely appalling to watch and we pray it comes to a merciful ending soon. Watching poor Holly have absolutely no idea what is happening to her while she is unwittingly taking anti-psychotics after already having a drug problem and nearly dying from opioids when she was in high school is painful. It's cruel to the character and cruel to the audience.
Getting a child involved who already shot her uncle last year makes this story even more disturbing than it already is and we want to know who thought of this and how it ever made it from concept to screen. Maybe when this story ends, we can finally understand what really makes Sophia tick because this girl is out of her mind and an overbearing helicopter mom is not a good enough explanation for Sophia's nuttery.
Brady needs to face the music

It may be that time again when Brady has to face the fact that the latest woman he has fallen for is not the woman for him. Over the last few years, we have seen Brady with Theresa, Chloe, Ava, and now Sarah. And it needs to stop. Sarah is clearly still in love with Xander and happens to have zero chemistry with Brady, so can we get The Xarah Reunion Show on the road already? Maybe Brady and Gwen can drown their sorrows in a Salem Inn room, but that would certainly put a damper on Kristen's plans — along with Kristen and Gwen's friendship. At least Sarah came to her sense and realized keeping a child from even laying eyes on her father might not be the best move.
But at least we got to see Victoria and we want to see more of her. First, she is cute and second, it's ridiculous to always have Sarah talking to this invisible, silent child in a stroller. We also had to laugh at the little actress playing Victoria, coughing on cue. Bravo!
Till next week, Scoopers, when Paulina has to make some big decisions and Stephanie remains a little tied up. Please untie her soon so this horrible story can come to a merciful conclusion. Thank you, Soap Gods. And Amen.
