On the Friday, August 21, 2026, episode of Days of our Lives, Jada questioned EJ, Lexie said her goodbyes, and Chanel said hello to her new baby.
One more question

While Kayla was at the nurses’ station, Jada questioned Kayla about Lexie’s confinement at the mansion. Kayla said that Lexie had told her that she had planned to leave town so that her family would not have to watch her die, but that Kristen had talked her out of leaving. Kayla added that Lexie had told her that EJ had found her, but she did not know how Lexie had ended up at the mansion.
Freshly recovered from the flu, EJ stood in the DiMera living room and directed Rita to continue their search for Kristen. When EJ mentioned his concern that Lexie might mention his plans for Kristen, Rita chastised EJ for worrying about anything other than Lexie’s health.
As EJ started to leave for the hospital, Jada intercepted him. Jada told EJ that she believed he had held Lexie against her will based on witness testimony. EJ encouraged Jada to talk to Lexie and get the truth. Jada asked about Kristen, but EJ said he had no information. Jada asked about EJ’s partnership with Gwen to kidnap Dimitri. With a groan, EJ said that Gwen was a liar and there was no proof. Impatient to see Lexie, EJ walked past Jada.
Family concerns

After Lexie’s blood transfusion, Abe and Theo agreed that it was a gift to have even a few minutes more with her. Lexie had a video chat with Celeste so that she could say goodbye. Abe went to retrieve gummy bears for Lexie, while Theo stayed behind with his mother. Theo asked why EJ had hidden Lexie in the mansion.
Lexie told Theo that she had wanted to spare him and Abe the pain of watching her die again. Lexie stressed that EJ had stopped her from leaving town, and he had set her up in the tunnels so that she would not die alone. Lexie said EJ had pushed her to tell Abe and Theo the truth, but she had refused. Lexie said she had asked EJ not to tell anyone as her dying wish. Lexie asked Theo not to blame EJ, because his actions had ended up giving them more time together.
As Chanel continued to breathe through contractions, she noted that it felt like her water had broken. Johnny noticed blood. Paulina and Lani walked into the room, and Johnny asked them to get Kayla. Kayla ordered everyone but Johnny to leave while she tended to Chanel. Lani pulled a protesting Paulina into the hallway.
Kayla assured Chanel that bleeding during labor was a common occurrence that was treatable. Chanel told Johnny she was scared, but Kayla confirmed that the bleeding was from a minor tear and not serious. Chanel and Johnny breathed a sigh of relief as Kayla worked to stop the bleeding.
In the hallway, an emotional Lani noted to Paulina that she had experienced the same situation when she had given birth to David, who had died. Eli arrived, and Lani clutched him tightly. Paulina assured Lani that the blood loss was treatable. Lani was reluctant to leave her sister, but Eli took her outside to get some air.
Abe saw Paulina in the hallway and asked if she was okay. When Paulina explained the situation, she started to break down. Abe hugged Paulina. When Paulina calmed, Paulina asked about Lexie. Abe explained the situation. Johnny interrupted to update Paulina on Chanel’s status. Abe asked Paulina to tell Chanel that they were pulling for her. Paulina asked Abe to tell Lexie the same.
Lani and Eli walked to the square. Lani said her concern was that she had almost died from blood loss, and she was worried about the complications for Chanel. Although Lani had survived, Lani noted that unlike Chanel, she had not been sick with cancer. Paulina texted Lani to tell her that Chanel and the baby were okay.
Transitions

When Lani and Eli returned to the hospital, EJ was arriving to see Lexie. Lani informed EJ that Chanel was in labor. With a nod, EJ went to Lexie’s room. Paulina joined Eli and Lani in the hallway. Lani mentioned that they had told EJ about Chanel, and they were surprised Johnny had not told EJ. Johnny informed the group that Chanel was okay.
As Paulina returned to Chanel’s room with Johnny, Kayla recommended that they speed up labor with medication to attempt to avoid a C-section. Johnny held Chanel’s hand through the labor as she gave birth to a baby girl. As Chanel held her daughter, the doctor confirmed that both baby and mom appeared to be healthy.
In Lexie’s room, Theo was asking about Kristen when Abe returned. Abe explained he had run into Paulina and that the baby had not arrived yet. With a smile, Lexie said it warmed her heart to know that the new baby would have Abe and Theo as part of its family. EJ walked in. Furious, Abe yelled at EJ to leave, but Theo explained what Lexie had told him. Lexie asked for a moment alone with EJ.
Once alone, EJ apologized. Lexie told EJ not to apologize because his actions had given her more time with her family. Lexie said she was grateful that Theo had found her. After a moment, Lexie told EJ that she had not told anyone about EJ’s plan for Kristen, because she wanted to give him a chance to end his feud with their sister. “Be a better man. It’s the last thing I’ll ever ask of you. Promise me you’ll try,” Lexie said. EJ agreed. As EJ started to cry, the monitors blared alarms. EJ called for help.
After Kayla stabilized Lani, she told Abe, Theo, and EJ that it was time to say goodbye. EJ told Lexie that he loved her, and she told him the same. Abe told Lexie that they would be with her until the end. As Theo and Kayla stood to the side, an emotional Abe talked to Lexie about their wedding day and their life together. “Every moment with you is a wonderful memory. Even this one,” Abe said. Theo talked about how he still saw Lexie as a superhero.
Lexie sang a lullaby to Theo as Johnny sang the same lullaby to his new baby girl across the hallway. As Lexie whispered, “lullabye and goodnight,” she passed. Kayla offered her condolences. Theo kissed his mother goodbye. Abe kissed Lexie and he whispered, “Rest in peace, my love.” From outside the room, EJ looked through the window as Kayla covered Lexie with a sheet.
After everyone had celebrated the new baby and left Chanel’s room, Johnny curled up next to Chanel on her bed and they watched their baby sleep. “I’m the luckiest woman in the world,” Chanel said.
