Making Plans

In Horton Town Square, Tate canceled his movie date with Holly due to a training session with Joy Wesley. Tate felt bad for Joy and wanted to help build her upper body strength. Holly dropped the news that she had also needed to cancel because she had a training session with the mental health hotline.

She explained that Mason had apologized for how hard he had been on Holly about Sophia and he had convinced her to become a volunteer. "Obviously, there's nothing I can do to save Sophia, but maybe I can make a difference for other people," Holly said.

At the Brady Pub, Theo and Abe discussed plans for Lexie's latest memorial service and determined it would be in early November on her birthday. As Theo looked over the guest list, he noted something was off with Abe's handwriting. "I can barely read it," Theo said. A flustered Abe claimed he just couldn't find his glasses when he had written it.

When Holly stopped in, she gave Abe a hug from Nicole and mentioned she'd likely see her for the holidays. Theo told her to cherish every holiday moment with her mom. Abe asked Holly to join them, but she was meeting Mason, who had just seen the "Room for Rent" sign on the front door.

Holly and Mason sat down for her training and Mason was surprised by how intelligent and intellectual Holly was. She even knew how to spell "vacuous." They even liked the same artists.

Joy's New Digs

In her bedroom in Alex's apartment, Joy popped out of her chair to listen at the door and assess whether there was anyone right outside. When she felt the coast was clear, Joy grabbed her muscle relaxer and told Kelsey she knew she was a bad role model. But she needed to take things, so Tate didn't figure out her secret. Joy panicked when she realized she was almost out of pills.

She quickly called Craig for more and had to assure him she hadn't been taking too many. She lied and said she'd accidentally spilled some down the sink, so Craig agreed to send more.

In the living room, Alex opened the door to Stephanie and told her she could come in because Joy and Kelsey were in the bedroom, so she was 10 feet away. Alex had good news for Stephanie. Justin was allowing Joy and Kelsey to move into the mansion, where there would be a gym, a pool, and even a nanny. Problem solved!

Stephanie realized that Alex hadn't told Joy the news yet and worried she'd balk. Alex thought Joy would be thrilled, but the look on Stephanie's face said otherwise. "Stephanie, is there something you're not telling me?" Stephanie told Alex there was something he needed to know before spitting out her suspicions about Joy.

As Stephanie told the story, Joy heard them talking via the baby monitor and knew she had to think fast. In the living room, Stephanie accused Joy of wanting Alex, but Alex thought that was nonsense. "She knows I'm married to you," he said. "Do you think that makes a difference?" Stephanie asked.

Joy even foolishly stepped out of the bedroom to hear more (when she could hear perfectly fine over the monitor) and listened in as Alex defended Joy and Stephanie correctly called her husband clueless. When Tate arrived, Stephanie left and Joy snuck back into her chair, not realizing her muscle relaxer pill vial was on the floor.

When Tate got to work with Joy, he mentioned that he wished they'd had more floor space. Alex chimed in and said they'd have all the floor space they'd need soon when Joy moved into the Kiriakis mansion. As expected, Joy was not happy. Alex tried to make living in a luxury mansion seem appealing to Joy, so Joy had to give a weak smile before telling Tate her arms felt weak.

As she tried to work out, the muscle relaxer was clearly kicking in. She even dropped one weight and seemed to nod out. Joy woke herself up in time to spot Alex out of the corner of her eye. She began to flirt with Tate and asked him to spot her. She then squeezed Tate's arm and complimented his muscles. Tate began to feel uncomfortable and backed away, ending their session.

"I don't remember Tate being so hot. What's his relationship status?" Joy asked, after Tate was gone. Alex gave Joy the side eye before meeting up with Stephanie in the square. "You'll be happy to hear she was hardcore flirting with Tate," Alex said. That didn't ease Stephanie's worries.

Back at the apartment, Joy tried to look on the bright side. "Look where your daddy's sending us. To his family mansion," Joy told Kelsey. "That means that we are a part of the family, Miss Kelsey Kiriakis. You know what's even better than us staying here with your daddy? Getting him to move into the mansion with us one day."

Relationship Problems

Julie once again had to cancel a date with Foster, telling him that she had promised Maggie she'd help her move back into her house. When Maggie walked in, she asked Julie if she'd just used her as an excuse to cancel another date with Foster.

After some prodding, Maggie got Julie to admit that she had wanted to cancel the date. Maggie didn't have many complaints about Foster. She just wasn't sure if they were compatible. "As a friend, he's ideal. Anything else? I don't know," Julie said. Julie admitted that she wasn't really sure if she knew what she wanted. Did she just want companionship or something more?

"Maggie, the truth is, I still feel married to Doug," Julie cried. "He no longer walks the Earth, but he's alive in my heart." Maggie assured Julie that it was okay if she didn't push herself into a relationship. Julie felt she needed to be honest with Foster because he was such a nice guy.

Julie changed the subject to something more positive. "On another matter, I'm truly thrilled that you're moving back into your mansion," she said. Maggie confessed that she felt guilty about the underhanded way they used to save her home. Julie then gossiped about Marlena knowing something secretive about Dominic Marino.

What are your thoughts on Mason and Holly? Is Alex being foolish? Sound off in the comments.
