On the Thursday, September 3, 2026, episode of Days of our Lives, the daddy-daughter dance commenced before EJ gave Belle and Chad a huge surprise.
Celtic Knots
Marlena sat down with Belle at the Brady Pub as she discussed the chess set case with Paul. When Belle hung up, Marlena asked what the call was about. Belle hesitated before telling her mother that she and Chad had a whole plan for Italy. Paul would even help them decipher any clues they found.
Marlena had heard Belle mention a Celtic knot, so she told Belle about Stefano's father once being in love with Colleen Brady, Roman's Irish aunt. "Are you sure that these clues are leading you to Italy?" Marlena asked. Belle admitted that Stefano's clues were vague, but they had to start somewhere, so why not Italy?
Marlena reminded Belle that she was uncomfortable with this entire endeavor, but she was willing to help and assess Belle's clues.
When Belle showed Marlena a photo of the Celtic knot, she was struck by it, but told Marlena that she was lost in thought. "It might have meant something to your father, but it doesn't mean a thing to me," Marlena said. Later, Marlena recalled seeing a tapestry with a Celtic knot.
EJ's Grumblings
In the DiMera living room, EJ fiddled with his Phoenix ring and managed to remove it to put some lotion on his finger. When Rita appeared, she informed him she had been in Germany doing a project for Tony. He would return to Salem when Lexie's memorial was scheduled. EJ worried Chad's Italy trip would get in the way of that.
Rita updated EJ on the sale of the Kiriakis mansion. A hedge fund billionaire named Dominic Marino had bought it for cash, and the family would accept no other offers. EJ couldn't understand why a man with no Salem connection would want the Kiriakis estate.
Rita also assured EJ that she had the George O'Halloran problem taken care of, so EJ asked her if she'd learned what Chad was searching for in Italy. Rita claimed it was just a pleasure trip, but EJ didn't buy that and knew it had to be about that chess set.
Tender Moments
In the new room we rarely see at the Horton house, Chad gave Charlotte her corsage before the dance. Charlotte remembered how much Abigail had loved peonies, but she didn't have many other memories about her mother. Charlotte worried that she'd remember even less as the years went by, but Chad promised to keep Abigail's memory alive.
Chad and Charlotte took some selfies for a few minutes before finally departing for the dance at the Bistro.
At Brady's place, Rachel was disappointed that Sarah wasn't there to help her get ready for the dance because she had to be with Xander and Victoria. Brady promised that Rachel looked fantastic already, but she still wanted Sarah. Brady asked Rachel if she missed her mom. Rachel claimed she didn't. "Whenever she was around, bad things would always happen," Rachel said.
Just then, a package arrived from Kristen. She had sent Rachel a bracelet to wear at the dance. Rachel put the bracelet on and admitted that she did indeed miss her mother. She missed her all the time.
More Tender Moments
At the Kiriakis mansion, Xander was blown away by the vision that was little Victoria, as she showed off her dress and gave him a little twirl. "Victoria Margaret, you are as beautiful as your mother," he said. Victoria wanted Xander to put the ribbons in her hair because it was a daddy-daughter dance after all.
Xander had some fun with Victoria as he placed the ribbons in her hair. Sarah watched with amazement at how lovely this scene was with her daughter and her daughter's father. Xander told Sarah that he had to learn ribbon placement for when they weren't living together anymore.
Xander was furious at what EJ was doing to their family. He swore that after tonight, his main focus was making sure that EJ paid for all he had done.
The Dance
At the dance, Brady and Rachel immediately greeted Sarah, who quickly rushed back to photography duty. Brady tried not to show how much it bothered him to watch Sarah with Xander. Rachel looked a bit forlorn as she thumbed her bracelet, so Brady made sure she had a good time on the dance floor.
By the end of the evening, everyone had danced the night away, and Charlotte was dead tired. Chad brought her home and got ready for Italy while Brady and Sarah remained at the dance. Brady surprised Sarah when he asked if she and Victoria still wanted to move in with him.
Brady told Sarah about Philip's wine cellar story. Sarah claimed that it meant nothing, but Brady knew differently. He could see it that night and told Sarah this was more than just a dance and fun. "I think you know it, too," he said. Brady finally asked, "You still love him, don't you?"
Sarah admitted that she did, but that she would always love Xander; she was with Brady now. "Brady, I'm so sorry if I made you doubt how I feel about you. I love you. You are who I want to be with," she said, as Xander overheard. When Brady and Rachel left, Sarah suggested she and Victoria have one night with Xander at the mansion, but Xander thought it was best if they ripped the Band-Aid now.

In Belle's office, Belle and Chad drank some champagne and toasted to their trip, but they were in for a big surprise before they left. EJ showed up and announced that he was going to Italy with them.
