Days of our Lives' Chad switch is well underway now that Billy Flynn's final episode as Stefano's youngest son has come and gone. Chad is off to Arizona with his kids, but when he returns, he will look a lot like former The Young and the Restless star Conner Floyd.
Days of our Lives' changes Chads
It's been nearly a year since DAYS fans knew there was going to be a change in Chad. Flynn announced his jump to Y&R in March of 2025 and made his debut as Cane Ashby in June. However, with DAYS' long lead taping schedule, soap fans were able to see Flynn on two different shows for the last six months.
Now, Flynn has made his official Salem exit, complete with a bittersweet farewell tour as Chad prepared to take Thomas and Charlotte on a road trip to Arizona to visit old pals Sonny and Will. While Chad said he would only be gone a few weeks, it looks like his break will be a few months in real time. Floyd, whose last scenes as Y&R's Chance Chancellor were with Flynn's Cane, will make his debut on April 21, 2026, according to Soap Opera Digest.
Christopher Cary and Autumn Gendron also left the Peacock soap, with the roles of Thomas and Charlotte expected to be recast. No announcement has yet been made about who will be playing Chad and Abigail's kids.
Where does Chad go from here?
Chad had just ended his romance with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord), the woman who was forced to impersonate a back-from-the-dead (allegedly) Abigail, when Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) misunderstood a moment between the pair and chose to sue for custody of her grandchildren. Chad and the Deverauxs eventually came to a custody agreement, so Chad decided he needed some time to reset, hence his trip.

When Chad returns, we expect to see Cat heavily involved with Chad's brother, EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel), so Chad will truly have to move on. Will he pursue Belle (Martha Madison), the woman he matched with on the Salem Singles dating app? Chad made sure to take Belle out before he left town, so three might be something there. Will Belle like the change in Chad? Time will tell...
