Days of our Lives discovered that it had a champion in movie star Ryan Gosling after the Oscar-nominee gave shoutouts to Deidre Hall, DAYS, and soap opera actors in general for the amazing work that they do! Now, Hall, who plays Dr. Marlena Evans, is reaching out to Gosling with a special message.

Days of our Lives, welcome to Salem

Gosling was on the podcast Happy Sad Confused hosted by Josh Horowitz to promote his movie Project Hail Mary. When Horowitz asked Gosling about how TV had been his pal while growing up, Gosling praised DAYS, indicating he was a viewer not only the first time Marlena was possessed by the devil in the mid 1990s, but he was watching 30 years later, when Marlena was possessed a second time!

Horowitz shared that he, personally, was unfamiliar with DAYS, which Hall couldn't help but have a little fun with that when she made a video, addressing both Gossling and Horowitz directly.

"Ho, Josh, hi, Ryan," Hall began, then deadpanned, "Josh -- it's Deidre Hall. I know you don't...anyway...

"I caught the podcast," the actress enthused on a more serious and joyful note. "Oh, my gosh, what fun! We played it in the dressing room, and we played it in the makeup room! We're just thrilled to be so well spoken of because we work really hard, as you acknowledged.

"We think it would be nice if you [Ryan] came over and saw what we do in our neck of the woods," Hall said. "This is an open invitation to visit the Days of our Lives set."

As Gosling specifically commented on the show's possession storyline, Hall quipped, "Nobody will be possessed, and if they are, I'll keep my eye on you!"

Hall's not the only one who'd love to see Gosling visit the Burbank Studios, home to Days of our Lives for many years. "Come on down, dude," enthused Stephen Nichols (Patch).

"This is so amazing," said Hank Northrup (Liam). The DAYS newcomer put his funnyman and writers hat on by coming up with a few ideas for Gosling should he end up appearing on DAYS, incorporating a few of his film roles.

"Maybe he can play Gyan Rosling, a jazz loving demon hunter and All-State cornerback with Kenergy," Northrup posted.

Horowitz, who was tagged in Hall's video, couldn't help but notice that Hall remarked on how she knows that he might not know who she is. "Did I just get dragged by Deidre Hall?" Horowitz queried. "I didn't have this on my bingo card this week." He added a crying laughing emoji to indicate he knows it's all in good fun!

Gosling wouldn't be the first movie star to make an appearance on a soap opera should that end up happening. The most famous example occured nearly 45 years ago when Oscar-winner Elizabeth Taylor (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) appeared on General Hospital as Helena Cassadine. Also, entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. appeared on both One Life to Live as Chip Warren, and on GH as Eddie Phillips, the estranged father of Bryan Phillips (Todd Davis).

Soap Central will keep readers updated on whether or not Gosling visits Salem either behind-the-scenes or maybe even on-screen!
