Dante Vitali is coming to Days of our Lives in the form of Heated Rivalry star Franco LoPresti, according to Deadline. Expect to see Sami's fiance make his Salem debut on September 14, without Sami.
Primetime Star Comes to DAYS

The Canadian LoPresti appeared in six episodes of Heated Rivalry last year, but also has an impressive TV resume that includes Tracker, Chucky, and The Love Club, according to IMDb.
When he arrives on the scene in two weeks, there is no word on who he will interact with, but perhaps he will offer an update on Sami, who hasn't been seen in Salem since she briefly visited Marlena after John's death.
Who is Dante Vitali?

DAYS fans may recall that last year, when Sami visited Salem, she announced her engagement to a wonderful man named Dante Vitali. Yes, those Vitalis. Dante is a cousin of Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) of the Vitali crime family.
EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) wasn't happy to hear that his ex and mother of his children was going to be married to the mob, but she assured him that Dante wasn't close to that side of the family. He was a legitimate businessman working out of Italy, while his criminal kin worked out of Philly, PA.
With EJ, Chad (Conner Floyd), and Belle (Martha Madison) all off to Italy to investigate that chess set, will they run into Dante while they are there? Could he be involved in that whole mystery and be the one who has been giving Chad and Belle clues?
And what about Sami? Why won't she be with Dante? Alison Sweeney is not set to bring the character back to the show until next year when she is ready for an exciting and surprising new story.
"It was so good to be with everyone together again,” Sweeney told TV Insider when she was filming her latest scenes. "I was a bit nervous to jump into a pretty big story. It was a lot of dialogue and emotion, but with all the best actors to work opposite, we fell into it as if no time had passed. It was really wonderful."
As for Dante's cousin Ava? She is still living in China with her son, Tripp (Lucas Adams), and his wife, Wendy (Victoria Grace), but she could always turn up in Salem again...
