Days of our Lives Spoilers, January 28: Alex and Stephanie put their plan into motion

What to expect on Days of our Lives

It's do-or-die time for Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Stephanie (Abigail Klein). They are tired of living in fear and even more tired of living with Steve (Stephen Nichols). They want their lives back, so they know they have to take drastic measures to make it happen.

To that end, they conspire with Steve and Jada (Elia Cantu) to lay a trap for the crazed stalker sending terrifying fan mail. Jada, who hasn't changed her clothes in two Salem days, is on hand to advise them, but will she make sure they take safety precautions? Most cops would not allow such a rogue operation, but this is Jada, and she is a very bad cop.

All four of them still think Jeremy (Michael Roark) is the likely culprit, but they have to prove it. Jada already hauled him down to the station with no real evidence to go on, so they need this to work. It will either clear Jeremy's name or confirm he is the culprit. Odds are, they will find someone else is behind those letters.

Abe's no-good, terrible, bad news

Poor Abe (James Reybolds), who was always a better cop than Jada and Rafe (Galen Gering) combined, gets some bad news from Rafe. After a productive tutoring session with Liam, in which he learned more about Liam's life and his little boy, Rafe calls Abe to give him some disturbing news.

As the FBI has been investigating the DiMera kidnappings more, they discovered who actually did some of the dirty work. Rafe shows Abe a photo of Liam (Hank Northrop) and asks if he recognizes the young man. Rafe then informs Abe that he may have been the one who drugged Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) and placed him in the crypt.

Abe doesn't want to believe that about Liam, as he has grown fond of him over the last few months. However, this is something he just can't ignore. Abe feels lied to and betrayed, but knows there has to be more to the story than meets the eye. Liam had to have been desperate to do a thing like that.
