Days of our Lives Spoilers October 9: Kristen is Back on the Scene...and So Is Sophia

Days of our Lives presents quite an eventful Friday as Kristen DiMera makes her comeback...with someone else. According to spoilers provided by Corday Productions for October 9, 2026, Kristen finds someone special and Joy continues her games in Alex's apartment.

It seemed pretty clear from the start that Sophia (Rachel Boyd) would be back one day. Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) never bothered to make sure a body was found, so she couldn't be sure that Sophia was dead. Is that what she has been doing during her time away? Has she been looking for proof that Sophia is dead? Does she even realize Rachel (Lorelei Mote) needs her?

Well, she doesn't find it. Instead, she finds Sophia alive and well in a Paducah, Kentucky diner waiting tables. She's changed her hair and is using a Southern accent, but she is quite clearly Sophia and quite clearly not happy to see Kristen.

She acts like she recognizes Kristen, so it doesn't look like this is a case of amnesia, but why has Sophia stayed away all this time? Is she really happier away from Salem and her mother? Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) isn't all that bad once you get used to her.

What is Kristen's agenda anyway? Does she want to rope Sophia into causing more trouble with her or does she want to make sure Sophia stays far, far away from Salem?

The Trouble With Joy

It's time for a perfectly healthy Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) to be discharged from the hospital. She will be living in Alex's (Robert Scott Wilson) place with a home health aide when there is nothing wrong with her at all. However, she is not happy with her discharge instructions. Are they instructions that could possibly give away her game?

Alex and Stephanie (Abigail Klein) want to steal a few minutes alone together, but this week's promo also showed Stephanie outside the door with Kelsey crying. She even appears to want to enter her own apartment while Joy is walking about the living room. Will Joy finally be caught or will we have weeks and months of near misses as Joy fools all?
