Days of our Lives heads into mid-week with an emotional episode of lives at a crossroads. According to spoilers for Wednesday, September 16, Sarah and Xander reminisce again, Theo grows suspicious, and Stephanie and Lani are not sure how to move forward.
The End of an Era?
With the Kiriakis mansion sold and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander (Paul Telfer) going their separate ways, the two ex-spouses meet up to discuss logistics and end up remembering the past. Sarah and Xander have been through a lot, but have also come a long way over the last year, when Sarah wouldn't even let Xander anywhere near Victoria (Angelica Nero). At least now they are co-parenting and friends.
It's clear that Sarah and Xander want to be more than friends, but they refuse to admit that to one another. Xander can admit it to himself, but Sarah can't manage to do that and has convinced herself that she is much better off with Brady (Eric Martsolf).
Will another session of memories change things for them and bring Sarah and Xander closer to realizing that they belong together?
Meanwhile, as Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) grows more suspicious that Johnny (Carson Boatman) is hiding something big, Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Brady get together to see what they can uncover at DiMera.
What Happens Next?
Stephanie (Abigail Klein) can barely take her life anymore because she hasn't had a moment's peace in her marriage since she said 'I Do.' Between Owen (Wes Ramsey) kidnapping her and all of Joy's (Alex Ann Hopkins) problems, it's just been one thing after another, and Stephanie is not even sure how she is still sane.
Stephanie opens up to Kayla about her problems, looking for advice, but Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) might not have good advice. She is also Joy's doctor, so she knows that Joy's medical issues are real, but she also knows that Joy is milking those issues for all that they are worth.

Lani (Sal Stowers) is also at a crossroads, wondering what she is going to do with the rest of her life. The twins are starting school, which means she may need another focus. After her jail stint, could she still be in law enforcement or might she want to join Black Patch?
