Days of our Lives Video Preview August 17 to 21: The Circle of Life in Salem

Days of our Lives presents a long and dramatic week of Chanel in labor and Lexie dying. According to the latest spoilers video preview for August 17 to 21, 2026, Abe and Theo get Lexie to the hospital, Paulina and Johnny get Chanel to the hospital, and Joy gets some news in the hospital. Plus, Leo tries to escape Alamania again.

Lexie (Nikki Crawford) didn't want Abe (James Reynolds) and Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) to have to watch her die all over again when they have already been through this, but it looks like that is what will happen. Lexie explains to her husband and son why she had just wanted to be alone, but she is still glad to be with them as she gets ready to take her last breaths again.

In another room, Chanel (Raven Bowens) experiences a long and complicated labor with Johnny (Carson Boatman) right by her side. It's been a difficult road and pregnancy for Chanel as the circle of life completes in Salem.

As for Chanel and Johnny's other child, he has an encounter with his birth father this week when Aaron (Louis Tomeo) spots Trey at the Brady Pub.

In Alamania

While Chanel gives birth and Lexie lies dying in Salem, Leo (Greg Rikaart) is still trying to find his way home from Alamania. He does his best to reason with Dimitri (Peter Porte) once again by letting the obsessed man know that he doesn't really love him.

Will Dimitri finally accept facts and let Leo go? Dimitri can even be a free man if he can free himself from his Salem ties, which include Leo and Gwen (Emily O'Brien).

More Trouble for Joy

Back in Salem, Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) gets even more bad news when Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) tells her that there's a possibility that she may be left paralyzed. Is this all a result of what seemed like a harmless car accident? How will Stephanie (Abigail Klein) feel when she learns this news? Is Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) just giving Joy a worst-case scenario that likely won't happen?

Joy is definitely angling to snag Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) from Stephanie, but she also seems to be having some pretty legit problems.
