Days of our Lives Weekly Spoilers, May 4 to 8: Sophia's fate, Chanel's tragic heartache, and DiMera danger

The month gets off to a roaring start on Days of our Lives. According to spoilers for May 4-8, 2026, Sophia's fate is revealed as Chanel deals with what comes next, Stephanie deals with her new romantic problems, and EJ plans more DiMera surprises.

Sophia (Rachel Boyd) seemed to think she was going off to start a new life in France. She would miss her family, but knew after what she had done that there was nothing left for her in Salem. However, she underestimated the woman she was dealing with. Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) may be nuts, but she is also a fierce mama bear who thinks she is protecting her cub. And Sophia messed with that cub, so she ended up with a conk over the head and trip into the river.

This week, Jada (Elia Cantu) has the unenviable task of giving Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) news no mother should have to hear. Is Sophia really and truly dead and will the injury to her head indicate that this was not a suicide after all?

As for Kristen, she and EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) continue to spar, but she still has no idea what her brother is up to or who was in that pod.

Poor Chanel (Raven Bowens) was still reeling from the news that she likely has breast cancer when Johnny (Carson Boatman) was brought into the hospital after gas exposure. Chanel and Johnny are there for each other next week, but Johnny is having a hard time coping and ends up turning to Marlena (Deidre Hall) for advice. She is his grandmother and a therapist, so there's nobody better.

Stephanie (Abigail Klein) might also need more advice from Marlena, but instead she turns to Jada to vent about Joy (AlexAnn Hopins), Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), and a new little arrival named Kelsey.
