Days of our Lives winter spoilers preview: No secret stays in the dark

Days of our Lives has an exciting winter coming up with intrigue, heart, suspense, and surprises! The Peacock drama has released a sizzling new promo that is guaranteed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats!

What's next on Days of our Lives

Someone is out to get the DiMeras on Days of our Lives. Not only have Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Tony (Thaao Penghlis) been kidnapped, but Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) and Chad (Billy Flynn) are going to be joining them!

Rafe (Galen Gering) tells EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) that positive identification on a bone has been made. "Do you know who the bones belong to?" EJ asks Rafe. We see Kristen sobbing, so the decedant could be someone near and dear to her. Could DAYS finally be sending Stefano (the late Joe Mascolo) to that great soap in the sky?

Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) is non too thrilled that Xander (Paul Telfer) fires Brady (Eric Martsolf). It doesn't take a fortune teller to speculate that Xander's boardroom move is related to his jealousy over Brady's dynamic with Sarah (Linsey Godfrey).

Meanwhile, Rachel (Alice Halsey) runs into Sophia (Rachel Boyd) at Bayview Sanitatrium. Sophia is there because of a breakdown over the trauma with her baby. Rachel is there, in all likelihood, because she's a modern-day Bad Seed, who recently tried to do in Sarah with some pistachio-laced ice cream. "Hi, Rachel," Sofia says to the youngster.

"My brother said you couldn't talk," Rachel observes to Sophia, prompting her to motion for the youngster to keep a secret!

Also, lawwoman Jada Hunter (Elia Kantu) is on the job after Alexander (Robert Scott Wilson) opens an envelope that is laced with a potentially deadly substance. He calls out to Stephanie (Abigail Klein) not to come near him. "Alert the fire department and University Hospital," Jada says. "This could be a bio-threat situation!"

There's plenty of romance going on in Salem, too. Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) kisses Gabi (Cheri Alexander) while Leo (Greg Rikaart) asks Javi (Al Calderon) to marry him! Abigail tells Alexander that she can't wait to become his wife!

Also, watch for Chanel (Raven Bowens) to have some big news for her husband, Johnny (Carson Boatman), when she tells him that she's pregnant! The look on Johnny's face is one of pure shock! Is he worried about all those diapers he's going to have to change or something else?

Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) and EJ kiss, but something nefarious is going on as she appears to drug him! What is she up to?

"Save it! I can't stand to look at your face!" Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) declares to Xander after she learns he's fired Brady, most likely over his nephew's relationship with Sarah (Linsedy Godfrey). But Xander's not going to remain celibate post-Sarah. Watch for him and Gwen (Emily O'Brien) to get intimate!

More Days of our Lives family love, family drama

DAYS isn't all edgy drama in the months ahead. Watch for the Horton family to gather at Christmas time to continue the tradition of gathering in the living room to celebrate the holiday. "It's really a blessing for all of us to be together," Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) says, as the family is set to hang the family ornaments on the tree.

"You are not a victim, you are a vile predator," Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) coldly informs Cat. Speaking of predators, there's one on the loose! Stephanie's grabbed from behind. Could Jeremy (Michael Roark) be responsible?

Marlena (Deidre Hall) makes the heartbreaking announcement that Rachel needs to say at Bayview, prompting Brady to leave her behind, where she can receive treatment. Also, there's trouble in paradise for Tate (Leo Howard) and Holly (Ashley Puzemis), who argue. EJ shocks Paulina (Jackée Harry) with a revelation.

There's danger ahead for Salem's finest -- JJ (Casey Moss) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer). The teaser ends with one of these two men on the ground after possibly being shot!
