Days of our Lives is known for its supercouples, perhaps more than any other soap opera. For decades, the show's writers have brought them together only to tear them apart, and then bring them back together again. Is a reunion in store for the currently estranged Xander and Sarah?

Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford, DAYS' head writing team, sat down with TV Insider, and the duo previewed a lot of what's coming up in Salem, including the future of Xander (Paul Telfer), Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), and Brady (Eric Martsolf).
Last year, Sarah split from Xander after she learned that her husband had viciously attacked his half-brother, Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier), after discovering that Philip was cheating Xander out of a ton of money.
Despite Xander's protestations that he would never hurt Sarah or their daughter, Victoria (Angelica Nero), Sarah simply didn't feel safe with him any longer. Since splitting, the two have bonded over a health scare for Victoria, and Xander's charm is hard to ignore, but there's been no reunion -- yet.
Sarah, in fact, has grown closer to Brady. He represents things that Xander simply doesn't. However, Sarah may soon need all the help and protection that she can get.
"When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander and Brady work together to help and protect her," Cwikly and Ford preview. "Sarah's new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love of Xander."
Xander and Brady to the Rescue
Watch for Xander to risk everything for Sarah. Will that make a difference in her being able to reconcile with her daughter's father? Philip and Xander made peace over the beating that the latter inflicted on the former. That didn't automatically change Sarah's feelings for Xander, but it's a small piece of the puzzle that could enable Sarah to do some thinking.

Philip's not a saint, mind you. He has leveraged Xander's owing his freedom to Philip to secure his own agenda.
Eric's no fool when it comes to love. He's keenly aware that Xander and Sarah are bonded forever by their daughter, Victoria. In his head, he knows that Sarah feels strongly about not wanting to be with Xander because of his actions. But will Sarah always feel that way? If she's able to change her mind about how she felt, she could change her future with Xander!
