On Days of our Lives, Salem’s been running hot lately — Holly (Ashley Puzemis) dodging Tate (Leo Howard), Brady (Eric Martsolf) unraveling over his stepmother’s hospital stay, and Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) ex-husbands reminiscing together. So in the middle of all that drama, the cast decided to throw everyone a curveball: a Thanksgiving question so ridiculous, you almost forget anyone in Salem owns a kitchen knife.

The Days of our Lives cast proves Salem doesn’t need silverware

The Days of Our Lives official Instagram account set the table with: “Utensils are banned at this Salem Thanksgiving. We asked the cast what they’d use to cut the turkey instead... wait ‘til you hear these answers. What would you use?” And the cast…did not disappoint.

John-Paul Lavoisier (Philip) started simple — or alarming, depending on how you feel about hardware — announcing he’d carve his turkey with a screwdriver and a putty scraper. Paul Telfer (Xander) countered by pointing out his “enormous mouth” before lunging at the camera with a roar, fully committing to the bit. Then Dan Feuerriegel (EJ) escalated from zero to lumberjack, suggesting an old-fashioned chainsaw and declaring it would slice “smooth as silk, baby.”

Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) brought TV-fantasy energy by choosing Jon Snow’s Valyrian steel sword, Longclaw, like Thanksgiving dinner required defending the realm. Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) kept things gloriously dry, recommending an electronic tool “with big teeth,” the bigger the better. Robert Scott Thomas (Alex) ditched equipment entirely, opting for bare hands and proudly calling it “caveman-esque” and “primal.”

When the cast goes feral, they really go feral

Cherie Jimenez (Gabi) went unexpected and aesthetic with her choice — a guasha, the same tool used to sculpt cheekbones and de-puff faces. Greg Rikaart (Leo) volleyed back with “my fingers? my teeth?” like he wasn’t even pretending civilization was an option. Abigail Klein (Stephanie) picked a drill, ready to “get in there,” while Eric Martsolf (Brady) doubled down on the chainsaw theme with a proud infomercial-level endorsement of the 24-volt DeWalt mini model.

Sal Stowers (Lani) kept the chaos rolling by picking her mouth. Days of our Lives newcomer Tyler Joseph Andrews (Theo) matched that energy with a deeply committed — and mildly horrifying — idea of digging his thumb into the bird to carve it. Martha Madison (Belle) bounced between scissors and hands, and Josh Taylor (Roman) brought it home with “my hands,” promising he’d wash them “10 times,” which somehow made the mental image more vivid.

Days of our Lives is available on the Peacock streaming app.
